Chapter 4
My first period was acting 101, where everyone was taking a test on stage directions. The teacher offered me the chance to skip it since it was my first day, but being the Broadway baby I am, I simply laughed and told her "just give me the test." Unsurprisingly ,I was the first to finish!witch means I had the rest of the period to paint my nails with white out.
When the bell rang I looked at my schedule happy to see that my next class was singing and performing. I rushed to class having a feeling it would be a good one.
When I got there the teacher wanted me to sing, I guess he wanted to see if I had the guts to sing in front of a bunch of strangers and probably more likely to see if I could sing. I shrugged, nodded, and asked "do you have a guitar?"
I took his guitar, sat on the makeshift stage, and began strumming the notes to "First day of my life."
AN: Dalton Rapittoni (my model for Dalton Faberry) does actually sing this song. I'll put the video up above!
By the time I finished the first verse or so I had gained enough confidence not to be blinded by the stage lights and I began to look around the room. As I sang "yours is the first face I saw" my eyes landed on on a girl sitting in the front. She had brown hair with a gentle curl and a porclene face an:can't spell porclene sorry. She was smiling big and I smiled back.
After singing another two lines or so I realized that I was starting to stare so I changed my focus to a different part of the audience. There was a guy sitting right by the teachers desk who seemed to be evaluating my performance more the teacher. But he seemed to be enjoying it so I didn't think much of it.
When the song ended everyone clapped. It wasn't a standing ovation kind of applause but I could tell that the applause was genuine and it felt nice.
