You stood there with the boxes in your arms, obviously it was dragging you down because of the weight. You didn't have that strong of arms, but you still somehow managed to carry the load of stuff inside the boxes. Most of the objects in the box were glass tubes, stuff that you use for science experiments pretty much. You were the scientist for Tony Stark, which you still had no idea why, because you thought you were very introverted and shy. The ding from the elevator finally rang and you straightened your back and puffed out your chest.

The door opens and reveals your boss, Steve Rogers, or as everyone calls him, Captain.

Your face heated up immediately and you look down, completely trying your best to avoid interaction with Steve. You've always had a crush on him, most of the time when you work, you just like to admire him and praise him for his works. But you never had the guts to talk to him, and whenever he talks to you, you always stumble on your words and never respond. But it seemed in this situation, that he was staying on the elevator and wasn't getting off.

"Y/N! Hey!" steve smiles, making your heart beat ten times faster.

The fact that he even knew your name blew your mind because you weren't very social, you never really talk to the people that work with you. But it seemed that Steve just wanted to have fun with you all the time, but it was just hard for you to talk to him back.

"Captain." you reply softly, stepping into the elevator.

The elevator was filled with only you and Steve, and it wasn't a very big elevator as well, so you and Steve were kind of close together. You struggled to press the button to go to your floor, but it was just to hard with the boxes in your arms.

"Here, I can press it." steve insists, pressing the button.

The elevator starts and you always get startled whenever it starts, the little rumble makes you a little scared. Of course the elevator was the most awkward place to be with Steve, this was actually your first time riding with him. Mostly every morning you ride alone because everybody else is either on a mission or just doing something else, but it seemed that Steve memorized your schedule.

"So Y/N, you enjoying being Tony's scientist?" steve asks, playing with his fingers.

You glance at him and just that split second you made eye contact with him put you straight into panic mode. You just decided to shrug and nod, body movement was all that you were able to do whenever you're nervous, and you still had three more floors until you reached your floor. Steve coughs awkwardly and looks around the elevator, you could literally feel the awkwardness flying around inside the elevator and it was making you feel weird.

"Hey Y/N.. I um.. I was wondering-"

The elevator finally dinged and you were on your floor, you let out a big sigh of relief and the door slides open. The team was on the floor that you were entering, but you were specifically looking for Tony, and when you did, you rushed off towards Tony. You were totally unaware that Steve was going to ask you something because you were to nervous to even speak with him.

"Y/N! There you are! Let's get working on this! Bruce get over here and help Y/N!" tony shouts.

"No, it's fine Tony, I can do this alone, it's fine, really." you say, putting the boxes down.

"You and Bruce are practically the brains of this team, minus me. But you two are the smartest people I know, minus me. So, you and Bruce just work on this and get it done, it shouldn't take to long, mostly if two people work on it together. Now, go on! Get to work! Chop chop!" tony demands.

Bruce picks up the box and you two shuffle your bodies out the door into a whole other room, you shut the door and you start to unpack the supplies. Steve plops on the couch and throws his hands over his face and lets out a frustrated groan, making everybody turn their attention to him.

"What's up with you cap?" sam asks, puzzled on his action.

"Y/N.. That's what." steve sighs, removing his hands from his face.

"What about Y/N?" bucky asks, adding himself to the conversation.

"You know! I like Y/N! She's beautiful! She makes me feel all sorts of feelings whenever I see her, she-"

"Slow your roll Mr. Sappy pants," tony interrupts, raising his hand up.

"What Tony?" steve asks, folding his arms.

"You like Y/N... She likes you-"

"Wh- Are you serious?!" steve exclaims, jumping to his feet in excitement.

"No. I'm just pulling your leg." tony snorts, shaking his head.

Steve gives Tony a snarl and sits back down in anger and disappointment, Tony just laughs and leaves the room. Steve gets a tap on the shoulder and sees that it was Natasha, she seemed concered with his problem.

"Steve, you need to ask her out, maybe to lunch? Lunch break is going to start soon anyways, why not ask her out to a restaurant?" natasha suggests, sitting down next to him.

"Nat, you don't get it, whenever I speak to her, she never responds, she never says anything. It almost seems that she's terrified to even speak to me! I mean, I'm not scary am I? I'm approachable aren't I?! Nat! Tell me I'm approachable!!" steve shouts, freaking out over the thought.

"Not in this mood you're not Steve! Now! Snap out of it and just ask her out!" natasha shouts, slapping some sense into him.

Boom!

"Who- What was that?!" steve exclaims, his head looking around worried.

The door opens and you and Bruce enter the room with smoke and ashes all over your body and face, everyone stares at you. You cough and smoke comes out of your cough, Steve chuckles and you look at him, smirking a little bit.

"A little explosion happened in there, nothing bad happened though. But.. Y/N and I are covered in smoke now so.." bruce looks over at you.

You just burst into laughter and so does Bruce, Steve joins in, making you a little confused on why.

"I'm going to go take a shower to get this off me." you say, shaking off some of the ashes.

You leave the room and go back to the elevator, you enter and you press the main floor, as you stood there for it to close, you see Steve running up to the elevator.

"Hold it Y/N! Wait! Hold it!" steve shouts, running up towards the elevator.

You suddenly put your hand in the motion detector and it didn't close, Steve finally reached the elevator and hopped in with you. The elevator closes and it starts to go down, you stare at Steve who was breathing hard. You watch as he goes to the panel of buttons and he presses the stop button, the elevator stops hard and you gasp in fear.

"W-Why'd you do that Steve?!" you shout, panicking pretty fast.

"Y/N, listen to me," steve says, holding your hands.

"W-What is it?" you ask, calming down for some odd reason.

"Will you go out to lunch with me when lunch hour comes? I would really enjoy going out with you and getting to know you better." steve says, smiling.

"S-Steve... I-I.." you didn't know what to say.

"Yes, I would love to go on a date with you." you smile.

Courage actually came over you, you actually spoke to Steve with words, no babbling or gibberish, actual words. Steve cheers and he pulls you into a hug, making you even more happier than before. You couldn't believe it, you had a date with Steve, your crush. Nothing could be even more perfect.
