Request: hi! so i'm obsessed with your writing, and i just got finished with watching the show H20 (idk if u know that show or not) but anyways, i was wondering if you could make a Steve Rogers imagine where you're a mermaid and whenever you get touched by water, you have 30 seconds until you turn into a full on mermaid. and so you get splashed by water while helping Steve with the dishes and you run off, and he wonders why. you can make up the rest, thank you so much i love your work so much! just, ily!

A/N: oh my gosh, that brings back so many memories ahaha. Indiana Evans was such goals when I watched that show, I wanted to be her so bad. But yes, I have seen that show, and I actually really loved it! And I love you to honey, thank you for the kind words, it made me smile :)

You grunted as you fought against Steve, he blocked every single punch and kick you threw at him. You kicked at him once more and he got ahold of your foot, he twisted it and it made you fall right down onto the mat. You groaned in pain as you rolled around on the mat, holding your stomach, most of the air just got knocked out of you. You looked up at Steve who was breathing heavily and looking down upon you in disappointment. He puts his hand out and you slap your hand onto his, he pulls you up quickly and swiftly.

Steve was about to say something but it got interrupted with the door opening, you and Steve turn around seeing Bucky walking in with water bottles. Your heart started to beat faster than it already was, you and Steve were close friends, but little did he know, that you were a mermaid. If you got touched by water, you only had exactly thirty seconds before your tail comes and shows your real form.

"Thought you guys would need some water after training for about an hour." bucky says, handing Steve a waterbottle.

Bucky had a water bottle in his hand, it was dripping with wetness, your eyes went wide as he made eye contact with you. You look at Steve who was glugging down the water, it made you even more nervous. You focus back on Bucky and he got the other waterbottle.

"Here you go Y/N." bucky says, tossing the waterbottle towards you.

You duck as the waterbottle flies right passed you, luckily no water splashed on you whatsoever. You shift your eyes up at Bucky and Steve who were lifting their eyebrows in suspicion. Before they could speak, you made up an excuse and started to play with your shoes, pretending to tie your shoes.

"I'm good Buck, I really am. I don't need water." you chuckle nervously.

You stand up and brush yourself off, you smile at them trying not to look more guilty than you probably already did. Bucky blinks in confusion and looks at Steve, they started to talk to eachother with their faces, Steve shrugs and shakes his head. As you stood there through their conversation, you see Tony enter the room as well.

"Are you guys deaf?! I've been calling you guys for about ten minutes now! Dinners ready! Now come and get some or else Bruce will eat it all!" tony jokes.

You sprint off in front of them, pushing them aside, making them laugh.

"Last one down gets to do the dishes!" you exclaim, trying to run as fast as you could.

You had to beat them or else you were stuck doing the dishes, which wasn't good because doing the dishes meant that you would have to have contact with water. And if water touched you, down you went with the tail and powers. As you got downstairs, your breathing was hard and your heard was racing, you looked around the kitchen and saw that Bucky and Steve actually beat you. Your mouth dropped open and you were in complete shock.

"H-How'd you two b-beat me?" you ask, absolutely confused.

"We have our ways." steve smiles.

You rolls your eyes and smiled, you didn't even think about the consequence that came with it. Vision fills the plates up and hands them out, you all sit down and than you all start to eat. As you ate, you saw that everyone had water for a drink and you had nothing to drink. In the middle of eating, you were chatting with Tony about random stuff, but the stuff was making you laugh.

"Y/N," bucky calls out.

You didn't hear him because you were sitting pretty far away from him, so you continued to chat with Tony.

"Y/N.." bucky calls out a little louder.

Again, you didn't hear him, all you could hear was Tony and the chattering around you.

"Y/N!" bucky shouts, slamming the table.

That action not only caught your attention, but it caught everybodies attention. You look over at Bucky who calmed down after his little outburst. He apologizes but than focuses on you, everybody looks at you as Bucky begins to talk.

"Y/N, can I ask you a question?" bucky asks.

"Shoot Buck." you say, wiping your mouth and throwing the napkin down.

"How come you don't like water?" bucky asks.

Everybody starts to murmur with eachother as you sat there in fear, you were frozen and speechless, you didn't know how to respond. You just coughed and shrugged.

"What are you talking about? I like water." you scoff, trying to make Bucky sound crazy.

"Than why don't you ever go swimming with us? Why don't you ever drink water after you exercise? Why aren't you drinking water right now? Plus, when I tossed you that wet waterbottle, you totally avoided it, like.. Like you didn't want the water to touch you." bucky was getting really suspicious.

"I have to go," you say, scooting out from the table.

"Thanks for making the food Clint and Wanda, very well done." you compliment, picking up your plate.

As you head towards the sink, everyone fell right back into their conversations. You let out a sigh of relief and continued to put your dish in the sink. As you left, you feel a hand grab your wrist and you twist around, seeing that it was Bucky.

"Remember the rule Y/N.. Last one down does the dishes.. And I'm pretty sure you were the last one.. So.. Do the dishes." bucky demands.

You smile nervously and than nod your head, you look at sink as it got filled up with everybodies plates. You sigh and walk over towards the sink and look in at the plates that were dirty, you looked at the sprayer that wasn't on. Steve was the last one to put the plate in and he looked at you and saw how nervous you were. You gulped hardly and looked at the sprayer.

"You need help with the dishes?" steve asks, smiling.

"Um, yes.. I would like some help." you reply.

Steve moves you aside and turns the faucet on, the water turned on and Steve started to spray down the dishes. Steve hands you a dry towel and starts to scrub the plates, as you stared at him clean them your heart was rapidly beating.

"Here, I'll wash the plates, you dry." steve says.

He gets out the first plate and you looked at it, the plate was dripping with water, your breathing was getting faster each second. Steve held the plate out and waited for you to take it, but your body was completely incapable to move at the moment.

"Y/N, take the plate. You're supposed to dry it." steve smiles, trying to be friendly as possible.

You couldn't say anything, your body was just frozen in fear, after a few more seconds Steve just placed the plate down. He started to wipe his hands on a cloth and shook his head.

"How about you wash and I'll dry? I can show you how to do it." steve says.

You didn't respond but Steve just took it as a yes, so as he took your hands he brings you towards the sink. Before you knew it, he shoved his hands in the water and your eyes went wide.

"Ahhhg!" you shrieked, pulling your hands out of the water.

"Whoa whoa! What?!" steve shouts, stumbling backwards, obviously confused on your random shriek.

You looked at your hands, water was trickling down your skin. You looked at Steve who was still baffled on what you just did. You didn't even respond and you ran off to the bathroom, on the way there, you bumped into Bucky. He looked at your hands and saw that there was water on them.

"Looks like you finally-"

"Move it Buck!" you shout, shoving him to the ground.

You finally reached the bathroom and slammed the door shut, locking it after. You turn around and than you couldn't feel your legs anymore. You suddenly lose balance and fall right onto the ground, the tail started to replace your legs and soon after you became a mermaid. You sighed and looked at your tail, you flopped it around and rolled your eyes. It took about ten minutes to regain your legs again, after a few seconds you hear banging on the door.

"Y/N!! Are you okay?! Why'd you run off like that?" you hear steve shout through the door.

"Steve! I'm fine! It's.. It's just.." you couldn't find the right words.

"Y/N??" steve says, banging on the door some more.

"That's it, I'm barging in." steve says, backing up.

"Steve! Don't!" you shout.

Steve didn't listen and bolted towards the door, he hits the door and it knocks it right down onto the ground. You backed up a little bit and Steve started to rub his shoulder, as he looked at you his eyes went wide and his mouth dropped in surprise.

"Steve.. I-I can explain." you say, trying to think of what to say.

"Y-You're.. Y/N.. You're.."

"A mermaid!!" bucky shouts, bursting into the bathroom.

"I knew it! I knew it!" bucky sang, dancing around in excitement.

Bucky cheers and runs out of the bathroom, boasting about being right about you being a mermaid. Steve continued to stare at you, you were blushing and completely embarrassed at this moment. After a few seconds The Avengers pretty much packed themselves in the bathroom and saw you in mermaid form, they were amazed and blown away.

"I didn't know you were a mermaid!" tony says, his mouth wide open.

Everyone started to get their phones out and you groaned in annoyance.

"Guys, please.. Don't take pictures." you beg, covering up your face in embarrassment.

"Team! Put your phones away!" steve demands.

Everyone follows his command and they put their phones away, Steve than calls for everyone to leave the bathroom. They all skedaddle out of the room and you look up at Steve, he kneels down and holds your hand.

"Why'd you never tell me you were a mermaid Y/N?" steve chuckles.

"I thought you'd judge me harshly." you blush.

"I would never Y/N! You've done lots of embarrassing things in front of me, and I think what you were doing was absolutely hilarious and adorable." steve bops you on the nose.

"And this.. This is just.. Wow! You're so beautiful mermaid or not, I'm always going to love you no matter what." steve smiles.

"You mean that Steve?" you ask.

"Yes Y/N. I mean it, I love you." steve smiles, kissing you on the cheek.

"Thanks Stevie, I love you too." you smile.
