Doctor Andrew Volt

Doctor Volt is probably my most used character at this point, and even then I add minor changes to their personality and appearance and whatnot.

Obviously, the name Volt alludes to their ability to control electricity. A voltage, after all, is a unit of measurement for electrical power.
While Volt might be non-binary, they never changed their name to something more neutral than Andrew. This is simply because they speak in a really proper manner, and wanted a common, albeit fancy-ish name. They thought Andrew sufficed, and thus never changed their name.
Dr. Volt is a computer scientist. This is why I made them non-binary, haha. As for why I had them an aromantic asexual, it's simply because I always see them buried in work; they aren't really the type to understand why people would spend time with a significant other.

Let's look at their appearance, eh?

Dr. Volt is an albino; they have pale skin and white hair due to a lack of melanin. However, while Volt should also have red eyes, they have lightning blue ones. This ties into their backstory, but more on that later.
Volt has very thick circular glasses without any frame. I originally got the idea for this from Pidge Gunderson, who also has circular glasses, and also is good with tech. But, eventually I just really liked the idea of being able to not have to draw eyes/use the glare of their glasses to add onto the mood of a scene.
Like a cliche mad scientist, Dr. Volt's hair is often unkempt. Also like a mad scientist, they wear a lab coat. While this might seem out of place for a computer scientist, they also study biology and chemistry. Underneath, they wear a turtleneck, pants, and shoes, all of them black. They wear this even in warm areas, because scars from old cut, puncture, and burn wounds line their body, legs, and arms.

As for Volt's backstory, they weren't naturally born with their electrical abilities. They had been randomly selected in a governmental program before they were even born, an experiment to create super soldiers. The experiments while they were in their mother's womb made them very, very weak. These experiments also continued until their were eighteen, which was also the age where they were strong enough to be cleared from the hospital they grew up in.
I originally had them just born with their powers, but the explanation 'ionized DNA makes one very weak' doesn't exactly work that well if one really thinks about it. Plus, this backstory gives a better explanation to their personality.

Dr. Volt, obviously, is quite smart, haha. They would have always been born to be rather intelligent, but the experiments performed on them increased this to genius levels. Geniuses tend to be a little eccentric, and Dr. Volt's no exception; they have psychopathic tendencies. They're also very determined. I like to tie this in with the fact that Volt knows they won't live long, so they want to do as much as possible in their lifetime.
However, this determination turns their need of improvement and, when angered, revenge, into an obsession. I usually start this revenge as them against whoever experimented on them, in which Volt will divert all of their attention to getting things even. An eye for an eye, eh?

I usually pair Dr. Volt with the super suit I created, known as the Human Aviation Winged Knapsack, or the HAWK. This device is lined with nanobots that allow Dr. Volt to actually be able to move athletically. It also has mechanical wings.
I originally created the design for the HAWK by basing it from the Vulture's flight suit and Fallout's wasteland gear.

Dr. Volt's usually slated to die in their mid to late 20s, or early 30s. They're very weak, so it makes sense that they wouldn't live long, haha.
If they die in their mid 20s, it's because they're behind on the medication they have to take to keep their organs from failing.
Otherwise, it's just because the medication failed to work.
Of course, they can also die from unnatural causes, haha. This is just from natural ones.

Here's some fun trivia:
Dr. Volt doesn't know how to cook. Last time they made instant ramen, they blew up the microwave.
Volt was born into a Buddhist household, but they themselves are an atheist.
