Now or Never
Christian.
"I need you guys to get out." I pointed to the cowardly guy who was helping us hide in here. His men were continuously snooping around and I didn't need them to hear my plan.
"Sure." He promptly said. No matter what he was blabbering to Hazel about me he didn't try to get anything else into her head. Without wasting any time he ordered his men to get out and excused himself out of the room.
It was now just four of us in the living. Hazel was seating next to me on the couch. Sam and Ryan were obediently standing in fron of us and Jayson was standing next to the couch giving me death glare.
"So, we have a situation at hand." I gave Hazel a quick glance. "Johnathan Grey might end up losing this tug of war happening to throw George Grey off his thrown as the boss"
"What? How come? Dad had said to me that he have almost all the people working for us supporting him!" As I had expected Hazel blasted her face forming a alarmed expression.
"Wait Babe that's why I have called these two here. Let them finish their report." I took her hand in my giving it a little squeeze.
"Go on." I instructed.
"Yes sir, as far as we know the situation is in John Grey's favour for now. But as we have heard from our people from the main house George Grey is going to get a backup from someone." Ryan finished.
"Someone?" Her puzzled eyed landed on me.
"Someone is going to help your uncle to beat your dad." I hoped she was going cope up with this new information and not get another panic attack. As far as I knew her it was best to tell her rather than hide it. "And that someone is Christopher."
Ryan and Sam shot me wild looks.
"Sir how did you-" Ryan started.
"I know him too well. He can do anything to get what he wants. That's why I'm now worried about Dad. I have asked William to report ASAP." I informed them. My Dad was as ruthless as any mafia gang leader was but even then I didn't think he had it in him to kill his own son. Christopher loved taking advantage of people's feelings and manipulate them in a twisted way so that he can stay unscathed.
"Oh God, Christian I shouldn't have left Dad alone now what should I do? What if something happened to him? I can't lose him Chris! I just got him!" As she grabbed my arm I noticed her shaky hands.
"Relax Baby. I'm here. I won't let anything happen to him okay? Don't worry I have a plan." I pulled her closer to me.
"Im so scared and Austin didn't tell me where he was. I don't know what's happening to him..." Water was pooling around her big eyes as she glanced up at me, her lips quivering.
"Please don't make that face. Don't you trust me?" I pulled her towards me kissing her deeply on her forehead. "Shhh. Don't cry. I'll send my men to find out information about Austin okay?"
She nodded, still hugging me tightly. She snuggled up around my arm resting her head on my shoulder and I could sense her body slightly shaking.
"Sam I have a new job for you." I spoke as an idea suddenly popped in my head. I should have done this months ago but I think I didn't need to do this when I was still around her. However, the past few months have been a lesson. She needed constant protection weather I was with her or not.
"New job?" Sam questioned his forehead creasing, doubt evident on his face.
Sam aka Samuel Dawson was one of the people who had passed the first test that I had prepared for joining my unit when I first started out as a proper member of our organization. As I was the one who had arranged it I knew damn well how horribly hard it was. That was the reason I trusted the people who passed in first attempt.
"That's right. I'm appointing you as my girlfriend's personal bodyguard starting today from this very moment."
My statement jerked up everyone around me, including Hazel herself.
"What?" She blinked several times. "What? Why? I mean..I.." She blushed before she buried her face her hands. So God damn cute. I knew she would get flustered at the word girlfriend. Why girls are so shy I'll never know.
"Your girlfriend?" Ryan pried as his eyes dangled between me and Hazel.
"That's right." I smirked at him. "So Sam I want you to know what your duty includes."
"Yes sir." He promptly replied.
"You must protect her in any situation no matter if I'm there or not and especially if I'm not around. Your priority is going to be her safety and not mine. Also you must to fulfill any request she has at any time of day or night anything she needs you have to provide her. Got it?" Hazel tugged tightly at the hem of my jacket.
"Chris I think that's too much I don't need a twenty four hours-"
"You do and it's for my reassurance as well. It's just safety measures. If I'm always worried about you I won't be able to move and think freely. It doesn't mean you are a burdon or anything. It's just that I can't let you be on your own now. Not when a barbaric battle is looming upon Old Lyme." I caressed her cheek. "I don't want to scare you sweetheart but it's the truth. I can see it happening."
"I know you are right. when Dad told me to just leave everything to him I had no choice but to do so but Somewhere in my mind I knew Uncle wouldn't go down as easily as Dad made it sound." She looked worn out as if she was tired of everything. It must be exhausting continuously worrying about someone.
"I'm sorry that you are dragged into this." I pulled her to me and gave her a slight peck on her lips.
"It's not your fault. I was born in a mafia family. It's my fate." Her eyes lingered on my lips as she spoke.

April.
Stop it April. I slapped myself mentally and tore my eyes away from his stupidly plump lips. Why? Why did he have to peck my lips? All I wanted now was to kiss him and keep kissing him until we are both gasping for air.
He was doing it to pacify me and I knew it. He just doesn't want me to have another panic attack. After hearing Christopher's name suddenly my chest felt tight but I wanted to believe Christian. I wanted to believe that he will save my Dad and find about Austin. I wanted to believe.
I was terrified to.
After all I knew that Christopher was the only person who had the potential to harm Christian.
"Do you want to go lie down babe? you don't look so good." His voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
There I go again making him anxious. He had been so sweet. It was weirdly wonderful to listen to him call me babes or sweetheart or baby. It made my skin tingle with excitement making me forget about the situation we are in.
"No I'm good. I will go grab something to eat." I couldn't stop the yawn escaping my mouth.
Christian chuckled as he nodded. "Wait. Sam can do that for you."
Oh God.
Christian was so worried sick about me that just a few minutes ago out of the blue he appointed one of his men as my personal bodyguard. All I could do was stupidly stare at him while my mouth kept opening and closing like a fish.
"No. I can do it. I'm not that tired." I assured him and got up but my wobbly legs betrayed me and I fell flat on the floor.
"You okay?" Christian asked amused.
"I think so." I mumbled. Now I had just proven how tired I was. Ha ha.
"Hazel don't hesitate to ask Sam for anything okay? That's his job now."
That's easy for him to say. He was used to ordering people around. I got up and smoothend out my top. "Okay so can you come with me please?" I attempted and Sam nodded at me.
"Certainly."
I smiled at me before turning to Christian. "Don't you want to eat too?"
"I will I just need to make some calls. You can go ahead." I nodded at him and he got up to discuss something with the other guy whose name I think was Ryan.
I slogged into the kitchen understanding how drained my body was. Christian was right. I didn't have the energy to cook even for myself.
"Miss April Grey, correct?" I saw an muscled arm stretched out at me and my eyes shifted to its owner. Sam was beaming at me. He had cream blond hair and sky blue eyes. He was surely popular with girls.
"Correct." I shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you even though we have seen each other plenty of times before."
"Right. I'm Samuel Dawson by the way you can of course call me Sam or Samuel or Dawson. Anything you want." He smiled. "So what would you like to eat?"
"Just a sandwich is enough thanks." I smiled back at him.
"Right away." He got to his business and I turned around to watch Christian. He was busy talking on the phone although he did look my way time to time and gave me one of his disarming smiles.
Then my eyes flickered over where Jayson was. He must be hungry too. We hadn't eaten anything else beside an apple as we were so busy deceiving everyone around us. I gestured him to come over but he just waved in denial. What was I going to do with this guy?
I ate my sandwich in silent which was by the way incredibly delicious. Maybe it was because I was too hungry or Sam was a top notch chef.
"Hey." Christian startled me when he suddenly snaked his arm around my waist I was close from falling off my seat.
"Chris!" I blurt out in surprise. "Don't scare me like that."
"Sorry." He kissed me smiling through it. "You have to get used to it."
"So? Are you done with the calls?" I took the last bite of my sandwich.
"Yeah and good news is your Dad accepted my proposal." He waited as he watched me.
"What proposal?"
"About forming an alliance between Me and him."
"Wow seriously? That'll be so great!" I leaped at him like a monkey and sat on his lap.
"We have to leave this place early tomorrow so why don't you go get some sleep?" He spoke as his hands tightened around my waist.
"But I thought we could stay here for two days or so. Where are we going?" I frowned trying to remember the stuff Dad had told me.
"The next place your dad has arranged, just a bit earlier. I have talked to him about it. Don't worry everything is going to be fine."
"I know I'm just...this is huge right? You and Dad going against Uncle George and Christopher." The weight of those words fell on me as I realised how ruthless that's going to be but there was no other way. After years torturing and trauma it was finally time for confrontation. Christopher and Uncle had to pay for what they had done all these years. Either we were going to survive or they. It was now or never.
"Yeah but we are together this time. We are going to win." His confident eyes gave me a bit of hope.
"I love you." I leaned down to kiss him.
"I love you too."

It was dark around when the shrilling of my ringtone woke me up from my deep slumber. I groggily opend my eyes and the name of the caller made my sleep disappear in a second. Leah. Why was she calling me?
"Lee?" I whispered into the phone.
"April! I'm with Austin and we are under attack please-"
And just like that The line was cut leaving me in horrendous silence.
