Grey Trees (blazedafirecat) (2)
Grey trees
At last.
He found a sanctuary for all of the wildlife,
Away from the air pollution, water pollution, space pollution.
The eagle soared above the towering evergreens.
Though were mere ants in front of the grey structures,
They swayed naturally, were natural,
A feat the grey things only dreamt of.
He thought about how there could be more creatures in those black, stagnant rivers than the clear lake he flew over,
Yet they were so empty of any other life, no frogs, no fish, no dragonflies
He thought of how the trees were trapped in miles of concrete,
Seemingly held in captivity.
He marvelled at how
They made flowers and dogs look like prisoners,
Made the pigeons look like visitors
In their own home, yeah they were listeners,
Obeying the 'shoo's and 'get lost's
But it was okay now,
This sanctuary was safe from their clutches,
It was a heaven on earth.
For now.
