The competition is open to all members of the Pub.

***You do not have to be a past monthly winner to participate***

For a ten week period, we will be announcing a new Poetry Style each week for you to submit your poem to.

POEMS MUST BE ORIGINALS WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS COMPETITION

Only one Poem per Poet will be accepted for each week. The only exception is as listed below.

If you have won a monthly competition during 2017, you will be allowed one extra poem for each competition won.

So

If you have not won a competition, you will only be allowed one Poem per week.

If you have won a monthly competition, you will be allowed 2 poems per week.

Two monthly competition wins will give you 3 opportunities per week.

(( A full list of winners will be posted this weekend. If you are on that list, you will be eligible for the extra poems. ))

PLEASE FOLLOW THE ABOVE FORMAT PROPERLY

At  the end of the ten (10) week period, there will be a two (2) week  period for all Poets to send in any straggler Poems from weeks they may have missed.

Then the competition will close and the judges will announce the winners to us and we will post a full list of all the winners.

Each week style will have a separate winner.

(In  the case of a Poet winning two different weeks, they will be given  credit for the win, but the second place winner will advance to the Poem  Write Off. We feel this is fair. The winning Poet will get a bonus poem for each subsequent week, he or she may win, if that situation arises.)

Please  check back to this page each week for the newest Challenge, which will  be posted on each consecutive Sunday for a ten week period.

or if you are really daring,

you can write your own lyrics to the song, using the chorus (if applicable) as is

and as a bonus
