Aiden.

It's been an entire week since Clarisse and I have had that confrontation.

Since then, she hasn't been showing up at her workplace. She doesn't live with her brother anymore and nobody is willing to tell me her address.

Yet Mike just happened to know where she lived.

I drove over there as fast as I could and getting there to the door.

My heart thumped against my chest so swiftly.

I inhaled and knocked on the door.

She opened the door.

There she was, my angel, my queen, my everything.

In cute green pyjamas and a sleepy look, she looked sleepy.

Until she saw who it was.

She was about to slam the door but I stopped her, going inside.

I looked around.

"You did good for yourself Clarisse."

"What the hell do you want Aiden?!"

"You."

She flung a slap to my face.

"You are engaged!"

"Not anymore!"

"Doesn't matter, you cheated on me! Lia told me everything!"

I pulled her closer to me. She looked so scared, so frightened.

I wanted to get rid of her fears.

"Lia lied to you Clarisse. She lied."

She pushed me away.

"Get out! I don't want to hear it!"

"Clari-"

"Get out!" she screamed, hurling books at me.

I kept walking towards her until she was against the wall.

I placed my arms around her. And leaned towards her ear.

"Are you going to listen tho?"

She gasped as I kissed her ear.

"I'm ready to trust you. But I need you to trust me my love."

She looked at me, in confusion and awe.

"Yes, love. I love you Clarisse. I realized it too late because I was stupid. But I've been hurt by so many people. I would never cheat on you. I was scared to love you."

"Why?"

I put her to sit on her bed. I stood.

"Can you handle the truth?"

"Just speak."

"I've been loving a long time ago
Got nothing but hurt from the ones I loved so
I locked it away in my heart and made them my reason to go

My mother killed herself (I saw her die)
Because her heart had been broken
Loss of love and hope killed her
That didn't need to be spoken

My father didn't even attend her funeral
Ran away with who? The next door neighbour.
Favoured her son more, who was nothing but a bully

Then I fell for Lia
Who "loved" me when I was ordinary
But let the fame get to her, till all she wanted was just money.
Slept with my father and then claimed their child to be mine
No one should have to face that and I did in my prime.

And then you came along
By then i was scarred
and scared to see love
it'll take time for me to heal Clarisse
please, I beg you, bear with me."

She put her hand on my cheeks.

"Oh Aiden."

They were wet. I was crying.

Then she hugged me.

"You saw her die didn't you?"

I nodded, the tears streaming down my cheeks. She hugged me tighter.

"Oh Aiden, so many things you've been through, no wonder you can't trust nobody."

"I trust you."

"I'm sorry. I should've heard you out, I-"

I put my finger on her lips.

"it was never your fault. Don't ever apologize."

We cuddled.

"Aiden."

"Yes?"

"I love you."

We stayed like that until we both fell asleep.

And no nightmares came.

I stared at Aiden's sleeping form smilng.

His confession shook my heart.

So many things.

That bitch!

Lia Anderson, you better pray to your God that I don't find you.
