Swara had no idea what she was going to do after going there. Or was there anything she could do to save the library? But she couldn't just sit here doing nothing.
"I can't let you go," Misha said, clutching Swara's hands tightly. "There are protests going on. It's not safe outside for authors."
That was the reason why Misha was scared before coming to the hospital. Scared that something must have happened to Swara. She couldn't even call her, fearing that someone would listen in and find out about Swara.
"Only for famous Authors," Swara said, removing her hands from Misha's clutch.
"What?" Misha asked unintelligently.
"It's not safe for famous authors. No one knows me. No one cares about an unknown author like me. I will be safe, don't worry."
"But-"
"Please Misha, I need to go. Why don't you track information about Naman until then? Send me any news or updates you find about him, yeah?" Saying that, Swara moved to leave.
"Swara wait," Vriha yelled, running behind her.
Swara turned abruptly. "What are you doing? You shouldn't be running around in this condition," Swara almost shouted, running her eyes all over Vriha to see if she was doing okay.
"I am fine, I am fine," Vriha assured, though she was breathing heavily, a little too heavily.
"I am sorry kiddo. I know you don't want me to leave. But-"
"No, no, you should go. You have to," Vriha said firmly, having eavesdropped on Swara's and Misha's conversation. "I came for this," Kiddo said, thrusting the red diary towards Swara. "You forgot this."
Placing her hands on her waist, Vriha reprimanded her elder sister. "How were you going to save them without this? So stupid," she said, shaking her head at Swara.
"Now stop looking at me and make the changes in the diary. Write something that will help save the library," Kiddo demanded.
"Writing in the diary won't help," Swara said, smiling sadly.
"What? Why? You said whatever you wrote in the diary had turned into reality. So if you just write it, the library will be okay all over again."
"No, it won't. Because whatever happened today, has happened in reality and not in the plot of cursed library. I can't change reality, Kiddo. I am not God. If it doesn't align with the story, there's nothing I can do about it."
"Why so pessimistic? At least give it a try," Vriha huffed.
Sighing, Swara turned the pages of her diary and showed them to Vriha. The things she had written after finding out her story's Library had appeared. The things she had tried to rectify, but had failed miserably.
Selena finds the cure of the curse.
Library's curse goes away on its own, letting Selena and her mother live peacefully.
Naman stops delivering the books.
"Why did you cut it? This would have helped them live happily ever after."
"I didn't," Swara muttered in a heavy tone.
"Wh..at?" Kiddo looked at her with wide eyes.
"No abrupt endings, no abrupt changes. Without a proper reason, without proper continuity, the story won't change.
"For Naman to stop delivering the books, I need to figure out why he even started. Only when it serves its purpose, can he stop.
"Same goes for Selena. The curse won't go away on its own. She will have to fight through it. I will have to create a plot where she finds the cure. And for that, I will have to first figure out why the curse was bestowed upon them in the first place."
Vriha looked at Swara with wide eyes. Diary was censoring things. It was Swara's story, but it wasn't completely hers to play with.
"There goes my plan to add a treasure box for us," Kiddo muttered, kicking in the air.
Swara chuckled. "You still haven't given up on the free money?"
"It doesn't cost money to dream, does it?" Kiddo shrugged.
'If this was possible, then I would have first written about finding a cure for your disease,' Swara thought to herself, while staring at kiddo with glistening eyes. 'If only I had the power to save you.'
"I am sure you will somehow save the library," Vriha said, bringing Swara out of her thoughts.
"The library wouldn't have come alive just to get destroyed like this. There must be a solution. You will definitely find it," Vriha said with surety in her tone, full confidence in her sister. After all, she was her hero.
"Yeah," Swara nodded, gulping back her tears. "They all are going to be okay. I won't let anything happen to them," she promised.
"Of course, you can't let anything happen to them. You are their creator. Saving them is your responsibility."
"Of course," Swara breathed out, internally wishing, 'let's hope that our creator feels the same about you.'
"Now go and rest. I will come back soon," Swara said, pushing Vriha lightly in the direction of her room.
"Take your time," Vriha shouted on her way back. "I will be waiting for the good news," she yelled at last, before entering into her second home aka her hospital room.
She was sure that Swara would save them all. They all would survive. Selena would survive. It was just a matter of when and how.
Vriha didn't know about her creator, but she had blind faith in the creator of The Cursed Library.
