Dumbledore stepped over the low garden wall and walked to the front door. He laid both twins gently on the doorstep, took a letter out of his cloak, and tucked it inside their blankets.

"Good luck, little potters" he murmured. then turned on his heel and with a swish of his cloak, he was gone.

-10 years later-

-Y/n's pov-

"Get Up you two! Get up now" my aunt petunia banged at our door, "oh god" harry mumbled "are you up yet?" she asked mad and I quickly answered 'yes'.

"well get up and start making breakfast, today's duddy's birthday and everything has to be perfect" she said and I rolled my eyes. "harry get up" I shook my brother's shoulder "Y/n stop let me sleep" he groaned.

"harry get up aunt petunia is already mad at us! GET UP!" I shook him harder "alright, alright I'm up" he said and I giggled at the sight of his hair "what are you laughing at" "harry your hair is devilish, brush it well and come out to help me" I said and he playfully rolled his eyes.

I opened our small door and exited our 'room' which was just the downstairs cupboard, I know what you're thinking 'why are you sleeping there' 'isn't it small for the two of you' and yes it is small but we got used to it since my aunt and uncle decided that Dudley need a whole room just for his toys.

As I was flipping the bacon harry came out and started cracking some eggs, "you two better not burn anything" uncle Vernon spat. When he turned back to reading his newspaper harry mocked him making me laugh "stop it" I whisper to him.

We placed the fresh eggs, bacon, and toast on the table then Dudley came running downstairs asking how many presents have he gotten this year and when he found out it was thirty-six, 2 less than last year he had a tantrum but his mother promised to take him shopping for 3 new gifts.

They started eating and both harry and I started with our chores.

-time skip-

Since Mrs. Figg's leg broke and our aunt and uncle didn't trust us in the house alone they decided to take us to the zoo with them. Dudley of course didn't want us to come but they didn't have a choice.

"I'm warning you now, any funny business, anything at all and you too will be in that cupboard from now until Christmas." Uncle Vernon told both of us scaring me a little, I held harry's hand and he lightly squeezed it calming me down.

"we're not going to do anything," Harry and he looked at me and I nodded hiding behind my older brother. "get in the car" he spat.

Our trip soon ended because Dudley had an incident in which we had nothing to do but of course who would believe us.

I got in the car first then harry so I was in the middle of him and Dudley "Y/n who made your hair, it's so ugly" Dudley laughed at my poorly braided hair. "hey don't talk to my sister that way" harry said furiously.

Aunt petunia scoffed "what my son said nothing wrong, both you and Y/n look like your parents ughh ugly people" she said and both her son and husband laughed.

"don't talk about my parents like that" I said mad "what are you going to do about it, tell your mommy or daddy oh wait you don't have any" Dudley said and I felt angry rise "you litt-" I pulled on Dudley's stupid hair "ahhh mommy she's going to kill me" Dudley screamed and uncle Vernon stopped the car immediately.

"Y/n no, stop leave him alone" harry said and I let go of his hair, both uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia got out there seats "my baby are you okay did she hurt you" aunt petunia kissed her son.

We reached the house and uncle Vernon pulled us both out of the car and tossed us in the cupboard "no meals for you too" he smiled locking us in.

"sorry" I mumbled feeling my eyes tear up "no Y/n don't cry it's not your fault" harry said pulling me into a hug "yes it is" I cried "what you did was funny" he said and I looked at him shocked "really?" "yea did you see his face" he laughed and so did I.

We both laid down and started thinking of our future "do you think we're going to stay here forever" I asked him and he shook his head "I heard that when you reach 18 we can move out" he said.

"harry when you grow up are you going to leave me" I said and he turned to face me "Y/n I would never you are my sister and best friend, it's going to be us against the world, I promise," he said bringing out his pinky.

we locked our pinkies together and brought our thumbs together (Like the gif in the beginning)

"you're the best brother ever" I said and he smiled "and you're the best sister ever".
