A Walk on the Wild Side Part One
The next day, Lizzie's eyes shoot open from her sleep and she sits up. She scrunches her eyebrows and got out of bed, going to put some clothes on. She decided to wear a top with a green jacket, a pant and some boots.
She then walks into the kids bedroom. She checked on Hope and Theo as they sleep peacefully in their bed, while cuddled close together before she leaves the nursery.
In another room, Freya is in the study where she's sitting cross-legged on a small purple yoga mat on the floor. After a moment, Klaus walked in and seemed surprised to see her.
"What are you doing here?" Klaus asked.
Freya gives him a look that is both annoyed and amused before she said "I live here?"
Freya stands and starts doing another yoga pose.
"Yes. Obviously. I just hadn't realized you were back from wherever it is you go to when you leave! Perhaps I was thrown off by the lack of strange gentleman callers perusing the contents of my refrigerator this morning." Klaus sighed.
Freya smirks happily and switches poses again "Your concern for my whereabouts is touching."
"Hardly. You know how he is." Lizzie says as she walked inside the study with Sage, Luke, Jo and Faye. Freya smiled.
Faye was wearing a T-shirt with a jean, a belt and some boots.
Sage was wearing a red top with a brown leather jacket, a jean, a belt and some boots.
"I simply want to know who is here at any given moment! I hardly think that's too much to ask." Klaus says, clearly offended and Lizzie smiled at them.
"Well, as long as we're talking attendance..." Hayley says as she walked inside with Elijah following behind.
"What is the bitch doing here? She's not welcome. Get her out of here, Elijah. I don't want her here! Once a traitor, always a traitor." Lizzie said.
" Oh, good! It's my not-so-loving older brother and our children-stealing wolf traitor! What a nice, normal family gathering." Klaus mocked.
Hayley rolled her eyes eyes and smiles fakely at Klaus "Charming. Elijah was just catching me up on how you have no clue which one of your long-lost buddies you can trust and which one is trying to kill you."
"He shouldn't. You're no longer part of this family. The only family you have now is your dear husband!"Jo spat.
"Well, clearly what the situation needs is more opinions." Hayley scoffed.
"I assume you told her about the bloody prophecy?"Klaus said, annoyed.
Hayley shoots Elijah a glare, and he smiles in amusement "I was just getting to that..."
"Now would be good."Hayley said.
"Well, it appears my old mate Lucien has acquired a genuine seer, and in an effort to prove his good intentions, he got her to show us some rather dire visions of future doom. It's grim stuff, really... not for the faint of heart." Klaus says, rolling his eyes.
" Who's doom are we talking about, here? Because if it's yours, I think we're all okay with that." Hayley told him.
"Talk about you, bitch!"Lizzie scoffed.
"Well, sadly, we're all on the chopping block. But, chin up! This witch claims her visions are constantly evolving. So, you may just get your wish!" Klaus said.
"I want to meet this psychic witch. Tonight." Sage says.
"Me too. Look, I know you don't trust me anymore. But let me make up for what I did."Hayley agreed.
"You can never make up for what you did. You were going to steal me and Nik's children!"Lizzie exclaimed.
Hayley sighed before she leaves the study with Elijah.
Luke embraced his twin and said "You were strong. I am proud of you."
"We are proud of you."Jo corrected.
Lizzie smiled at her siblings.
Later, Faye walked away to get ready for the party.
Faye digs through Rebekah's wardrobe meant for all of her dresses, even dug through her chests of her vintage dresses but not one caught her eye. Faye groaned in frustration and hears footsteps enter the room. She glanced over to see Hayley wearing a red dress and walking inside with an awkward smile on her face.
Faye continued digging through, trying to ignore that she's there. The hybrid sighed and picked up on of the dresses that were left on the floor.
"Don't think Rebekah would like the disrespect on her dresses." Hayley joked and slightly chuckles, but Faye continued looking.
"I know we are biting at each other's necks. But what if what Klaus says about the prophecy is true, then we have to be there for each other." Hayley sighed and Faye slowly slowly looked at him.
"How can I trust you when you tried to take the children?"Faye asked and stepped toward the hybrid.
"I didn't realize how much it hurt you and Lizzie. I knew what the kids mean to you, but didn't take it into consideration on how much it would break you to lose them. I'm so sorry, Faye. You don't have to forgive me right now, but we need to be there for each other because I need you. You're my friend and I want my unborn baby to know you." Hayley says.
"Well, I'm not going to fall for that. So I'm not going to forgive you. But you're right. As much as I hate it, we need each other." Faye told her and she finally found a dress fit for her. A beautiful green dress. She picked it up, and put it on.
"Elijah will be in awe when he sees you. You look amazing."Hayley complimented.
"Let's get to this stupid party." Faye then said as she and Hayley left the compound together.
Meanwhile, Klaus went with Lizzie to the Rousseau. They finds Lucien in a booth at Rousseau's, where he's partying hard with three girls: one is a sexy cat, one is a sexy nurse, and the other is dressed up as a skeleton bride. They all hold up their shot glasses in cheers.
"There's my old friend!" Klaus yelled over the music.
"Nik!" Lucien exclaimed, licking the blood of his lips.
"Hard at work ensuring my safety, I see." Klaus commented.
" By all means, join us!"Lucien teased, sinking his teeth back into one of the girls.
"Business before pleasure." Klaus declared.
"Excuse me, ladies." Lucien said, slurring over his words.
Klaus then takes notice of a silent, burly man standing nearby and gives him a look as Lucien gestures toward him and said " Ah ha! I see you've noticed Gregory. Former Navy SEAL. I turned him personally to head my security team."
"Yes, I've noticed a lot of new faces at my favorite haunts." Klaus stated.
"It's strictly for your protection!" Lucien said as they sat with him.
"Your resources are extensive." Klaus told him.
"And you don't even know the half of it. You see, I have spent several lifetimes building a company devoted to shattering the very limits of what is possible. I have some of the most brilliant minds in the world developing technologies that you couldn't imagine."Lucien told them as they clink their shots together before drinking them.
"With Alexis as your crowning achievement, no doubt." Klaus commented.
Lucien grinned in agreement.
"The single cure to the most terrifying threat of all... the unknown." Klaus teased. But Lizzie could tell he was faking it, it was all part of the game.
" Speaking of which... Perhaps we should go pay your seer another visit? See if anything has snapped into focus in regards to that mysterious threat against us.If, that is, you're prepared to share your resources... "Klaus then added.
"Of course! Her visions are our greatest chance for survival. I only regret I didn't suggest it myself!" Lucien declared.
Klaus smirked and so did Lola as they downed their wine.
After finishing their shotes, they went to Lucien's penthouse.
"Alexis!" Lucien called.
Klaus and Lizzie followed him, looking sceptically around the penthouse.
"Alexis!" Lucien called again, opening the bedroom door. The TV was on but there was no one.
Lucien examines the objects on the table: a half-dozen lit candles, a full teacup on a saucer that is still warm, a magic circle made of salt surrounded by magical sigils, multiple crystals of various sizes, and a few small ceramic dishes of herbs. He begins to look concerned as Klaus grabs the remote control off of the bed and turns the television off.
"Perhaps you should place your special lady friend on a shorter leash?" Klaus commented.
"You don't understand...Alexis doesn't go outside unless she has to. She's too sensitive. If she's gone, then someone took her." Lucien stated.
Lizzie texted Freya for help.
Freya walked in with Luke.
"Sorry, Luke would not let me come alone. He doesn't trust your friend. Jo couldn't come, she's working extra ships at the hospital." Freya told Klaus.
"I'm offended." Lucien says.
"And I don't care." Luke said rudely.
"Ach, this place smells like dried blood and bad cologne." Freya groaned.
"That's just my natural musk. I find the ladies love it." Lucien chuckled.
Neither Freya nor Klaus is amused, and Klaus points to the table where a map has already been set up for her and said "If you're quite finished here... This is hers."
Klaus sets a hairbrush on the table next to the map as Freya begins to light candles in preparation for the locator spell.
"Your brother must have told Tristan about the prophecy. If that sadistic bastard so much as touches a hair on her head..." Lucien said worriedly.
"Yes, the witch's hair isn't what has me worried. Frankly, your girl seems a bit wanton when it comes to handing out visions." Klaus scoffed.
" Alexis would not share her gifts with him. That doesn't mean he wouldn't torture it out of her..." Lucien said, offended.
Freya pours black sand from a small bottle into her hand and lets it fall through her fingers onto the table as she chants an unintelligible and whispered incantation under her breath. They watched as the sand begins to move around in concentric circles on the map until finally making a small circle around Alexis' location.
"Ah, the Davilla Estate. Brilliant. Isn't that where..." Lucien trailed.
"Our old friend Tristan lured Elijah just the other night. It seems your fears are warranted."Klaus cut him off.
"Granted, we are the three most cunning, powerful, and handsome vampires of all time..."Lucien groaned slightly, resting his hands on the table.
Luke, Freya and Lizzie rolled their eyes.
"Granted." Klaus just smiles happily.
"But that still leaves us a bit outnumbered. How do you propose we fight our way into an entire secret society of ancient vampires?" Lucien told them.
"Luckily, we have a plan." Klaus said.
"We send in Freya, no pressure. I have a distraction as Klaus tell you, we occupy them while I get pissed at the same time. Freya gets the girl. All goes well."Lizzie explained the plan.
"And what if they kill you?" Lucien asked.
"Oh, I'm an heretic, I'm not that easy to kill."Lizzie chuckled.
"Noted." Lucien said to himself, probably thinking she hadn't heard.
"Let's go."Luke said as they left.
