Reigning Pain in New Orleans
The next day, at the abattoir or compound, Klaus gathered everyone including Marcel and his closest ally's. Klaus had set up a fancy dinner in the courtyard, Klaus was sitting in the end with Luke, Lizzie, Faye and Hayley,. While Marcel and the rest of the vampires were scattered around the table.
Faye was wearing a top with a small pant and some boots.
Lizzie was wearing a sweater with a jean and some baskets.
Klaus stood up from the table and held out his cup and said "Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift: immortality. After a thousand years, one might expect life to be less keenly felt, for its beauties and its sorrows do diminish with time. But, as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine."
He waved toward the group of waiters and waitresses to join them at the table. Each compelled person stood next to each vampire seated at the table.
" Insatiable need, exquisite pain..." Klaus said as the waiters and waitresses pulled up one of the sleebes of their suits, pulling out a knife anc utting into the skin that was revealed. The blood filled the glasses of the vampires as Klaus finished his speech "Our victories, and our defeats. To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow..."
"And the party never end!" Marcel smiled, raising his glass.
Diego followed the vampire's lead "To New Orleans."
Everyone else at the table drank to the toast.
"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No, my intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have. What Marcel, in fact, took and built for this true community of vampires." Klaus explained.
"What about them? The siphons or whatever they are, the heretic and the newly turned hybrid?" Diego asked, pointing at The Parker siblings, Faye and Hayley .
Luke smiled sweetly "Ouch. Didn't your mommy teach you not to point?"
Lizzie added, folding her arms "Alright, lesson time. A siphon is a rare, powerful breed of witch. Luke and I can't generate magic of our own but we can take it. From spells, magical objects and from you. Supernaturals."
Faye said "I was one before I turned. But when I turned, I kept this ability."
"Had you'd let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is, of course, one further matter I would like to address. As many of you know, Lizzie is carrying my children. Consequently, I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect and the same should be said for her brother and Faye. Whereas, the hybrid is here to protect and help Lola so do not mind her. However, I understand that some of you are concerned by this vicious rumor that I intend to use the blood of our children to create hybrids. I assure you I do not." Klaus said as he walked around the table to where Lizzie was seated, playing one of his hands on her shoulders while casting a glance at Hayley. He was still angered by the newly turned hybrid girl's accusation toward him.
"Father of the year."Hayley said, dryly from beside Klaus.
Klaus and Lizzie looked at the werewolf in annoyance while Faye and Luke both gave her 'Are you serious?' look, more so from Liv and Lola, knowing how Klaus would react.
The Original hybrid began walking back to his seat as he spoke again "It appears I will have to earn your trust. Very well. We'll eliminate the root of your anxiety. You see, how I can I sire any hybrids if there are no more werewolves alive in the Bayou to turn?"
"What? Lizzie, he can't!" Hayley whispered, urgently to Lizzie.
"You shouldn't have provoked him." The siphon girl answered, simply as the vampires around the table, and they raised their glasses at the announcements of the wolf hunt.
Later that day, Klaus is with Cami, who continues to transcribe his memoirs on the typewriter in Klaus' study while he paces anxiously.
"To be clear, if the Quarter is yours now, you still need me why?" Cami questioned Klaus after thinking while she was typing on the typewriter.
Lizzie walked into the room, smiling at the blonde woman" Hey, Cami. We met a few times at the Rousseau's. I don't know if you remember me. Hi, I'm Lizzie."
"Yeah, I do remember you. But I didn't know you were the girl that was carrying Klaus children. And you are Luke's twin sister, right?"
"Yes, I am his twin sister. You're cool. I definitely like you! If I ever need a nanny, I want it to be you."Lizzie smiled.
" Cami? What are you doing here?" Marcel said, glancing at Klaus at the sight of the blonde as he entered the room.
"Oh, it's quite alright. She knows." Klaus told him.
"She does?" Marcel asked.
"That you're vampires? Don't worry, he's compelled me to forget everything as soon as I leave. That way, I'm too busy agonizing over whether or not I'm losing my damn mind to realize I'm playing spy for an immortal egomaniac." Cami remarked.
"You compelled her to go out with me, didn't you? And I thought you really liked me." Marcel accused before looking at Cami.
"So did I." Cami said.
" I mean, to be clear, I only compelled you to give him a chance. Anything you felt for him was quite real." Klaus began to explain.
Lizzie looked in amusement at Cami and Marcel glancing at each other. Klaus grinned in amusement as he spoke "And, for the record, the level of awkwardness we're all currently experiencing is entirely genuine."
"You think you're so clever, don't you? Compelling the poor naive bartender. Look what I found: real me, not your compelled therapist." Cami snapped as she showed Klaus the old newspaper photograph she found of him and Marcel from 1919.
"Actually, I prefer 'devoted stenographer...' " Klaus commented with a grin as he observed the photograph.
"You think this is funny, messing with my mind? My sanity is not a joke!" Cami upbraided, moving closer to the couple.
"I assure you, it isn't." Lizzie uttered and she looked up from the photograph to Cami.
" You never found this. You will remember nothing of our life as vampires when you leave here, do you understand? I think that just about does it for the day. You may go. " Klaus compelled Cami and Cami picked up her things and leaves.
Lizzie looked at Klaus and said "She's smart. She's going to figure it out sonner or later."
"I would prefer it to be later. What is it you needed to talk about?" Klaus replied, sitting down next to Lizzie and glancing at Marcel.
Later that night, Lizzie followed the magic to find Davina along with Faye and Luke. She didn't like the witch because of her magic but she guessed she deserved to know the truth about the Harvest, whether she believed Lizzie or not was her problem. She found her in her new bedroom with Josh the newbie vampire and Klaus' former spy. Lizzie heard Davina telling him she would stop Klaus if he ever came after Josh.
"I'm sure if you could actually stop Klaus, you would've done it already. Besides, there is all this nasty business with the sirelines, if Nik dies so does Marcel, Josh, Diego..."Lizzie said interrupting the two friend.
"You are Lizzie. Klaus' wife. The siphoner."Davina exclaimed taking a step back.
"Racist much?"Luke said.
"You are her twin, Luke which makes you the heretic, Faye Bennett."Davina stated.
"You are correct."Faye said.
"And let's not forget Josh, the newbie vampire way out of his element, voted ' Most Likely to Die Next.'"Lizzie added.
"Fantastic." Josh replied, sarcastically at Lizzie's commentary.
"You know it's quite funny our dad's name is also Joshua. He's such a dick but you like a nice Joshua."Lizzie told him grinning.
Lizzie went to the bed and sat on it with Liv and Luke by her side. Her legs and back were hurting because of the pregnancy.
"Would you relax, Glinda? I just wanted to sit down. Being pregnant sucks, I feel like I'm handicapped. I keep puking my guts out and my back hurts, like a lot. And stupid but amazing sex got me in this mess. Little lesson witchy, always use protection even when they tell you they can't have kids or you'll end up knocked up like me."Lizzie said.
"Don't come near me, Marcel told me you're a siphoner. Just like your brother. I won't let you steal my magic."Davina threatened Lizzie.
"You witches are always so judgy."Faye scoffed, rolling her eyes with Lizzie telling Davina "Please. Your magic is revolving. No way I'm touching that."
"What do you mean about my magic?"Davina exclaimed utterly confused.
"When you did that spell on Rebekah, I tried to siphon it so we could find Elijah. But your magic is weird. It felt like... death. No way I'm siphoning it ever again. I'm guessing what I felt was the other girls and the ancestor's magic. "Lizzie told her and then she remembered why she came here "Oh right, we forgot to came to talk to you about the Harvest?"
"What do you know about the Harvest?"Davina asked fearfully but also hopeful about any information she could get.
"You see, one of our ancestors participated in the Harvest, she explained all about her time on the other side, which sucked. I mean being dead with a bunch of old and judgemental dead witches, ugh I can't imagine... Anyway, we can give you her journal if you want."Luke offered.
"You're lying. The Harvest doesn't work. You want something from me like everybody."Davina told stubbornly.
"If the Harvest wouldn't work, you wouldn't have so much power right now. Besides, we don't need any anything from you. The only person who is using you is Marcel, you are his secret weapon against the witches after all."Lizzie told her as she made a flame appear with her hands a smirk on her face.
Davina shook her head and accused "No Marcel wants me safe. You are lying."
"Then why are you still hiding?"Luke asked the young naive witch.
"The witches are after me."Davina said.
"I'm sure you can perfectly defend yourself from them. Besides they can't complete the Harvest since their last elder is dead, Elijah killed her not so long ago."Faye told her.
Davina said shaking her head in denial "But.. Agnes was the last living Elder. If she's dead, then I'm safe. Marcel would've told me."
"Maybe he didn't wanna lose his secret weapon against the witches?"Lizzie told her.
"If you don't want something from me why are you telling me that?"Davina asked confused with suspicion.
"Because I know too well what's like to be hated by the witches. "Lizzie said as she got up from the bed.
"Anyway that was great and all but I need to pee, another thing I hate about pregnancy. I pee all the time."She finished dramatically before leaving the bedroom with Faye and Luke.
Later, Lizzie heard Hayley's voice, which sounded unsure "Hey."
"What are you doing here?"Lizzie inquired.
"Elijah, Rebekah and I, we apologised to Klaus and he allowed us to stay here. Elijah told me you were the one who text him to warn him about the attack in the bayou, I wanted to thank you. My pack would be dead without you."Hayley told Lizzie but the siphon didn't say anything in return.
"Now you finally got what you were looking for, your family."Lizzie snapped at her.
Hayley sighed "Look Lizzie, Elijah told me that you were afraid I would leave you after finding my pack and I know you have trust issues but I would never. You are still my best friend."
"Even after everything?"Lizzie asked.
"Yes. So we are back to being friends?"Hayley said hopefully.
Lizzie shrugged her shoulders "I guess."
She then added enthusiastically "Oh and now that we're friends again we have this horror movie called 'it's alive'. It's about a baby mutant who kills people, you're to love it."
"You mean I am going to have nightmares about it. Can't we watch some romance movie for once?"Hayley said with a grimace.
Lizzie put her hand in her mouth pretending to vomit as she said "Ugh, no way these 'things' are boring and vomit-inducing."
Lizzie added "Or do you prefer we talk about Elijah's crush on Faye?"
"No, no, I don't want to hear about his crush on Faye. Vomit."Hayley said, shaking her head.
