Save My Soul Part Two

Jo, Faye, Luke, Sage and Lizzie walked into the room, planting themselves next to Rebekah and Freya.

"Bex." Lizzie smiled.

"Welcome to such unfortunate events." Rebekah smiled.

Lizzie shrugged glancing at Klaus who was pouting and sitting glumly in the corner.

"You needn't worry. Elijah explained the problem, and I can help." Freya said as she squeezes Rebekah's hand.

"Rather confident, aren't we?" Klaus muttered loudly.

Freya ignored him looking back to Rebekah, say "The spirit of the host body is powerful, but I can cast a spell. Put you in a deep sleep, and then suppress this other essence. You'll be just fine."

"Lovely. When do we start?" Rebekah nervously smiled.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me. She spouts off some magical diagnosis, and we are all supposed to applaud?" Klaus groaned.

"Nik, she's trying to help."Lizzie said.

Klaus stands up walking over to them as he says "Yes, but for the sake of keeping our options open, why not write down your spells and incantations, that way we can have them double-checked by an impartial third party? Say, Davina? She'd love to prove me wrong."

"I doubt she'd be able to understand my magic, let alone have the power to execute it." Freya scoffed.

"Oh, so you're our only hope, then? Seems rather convenient, doesn't it?" Klaus smiled.

"I knew it would be difficult to earn your trust, Niklaus. Your reputation precedes you. But, if we are to face Dahlia together, you will have to trust me. Given the peril that Rebekah now faces, are you truly incapable of giving me even a chance to prove myself?" Freya mumbled with disappointment turning to face him.

Klaus rolled his eyes walking back to the bar, pouring himself another drink of bourbon.

"I know I appear as an outsider, but I have dreamt of you all for a thousand years. Elijah...when you were in Esther's womb, she would ask me to sing to you. I would feel her belly as I did. How you would kick. She would say it was as if Thor himself had raised his hammer..."Freya said to her younger siblings.

"And summoned thunder and lightning. Mother rarely mentioned you, but when she did, she would say how enchanted you were with the prospect of my birth." Elijah finished with a smile.

"How I wanted more brothers. And a sister more than anything. But between Esther and Dahlia, that wish was taken from me. I was ruined by those who raised me. If nothing else, at least we have that in common. There is nothing that can replace what was taken from us. But, I hope we can make something better in its place. All you have to do is trust me." Freya said.

Before anyone can say anything, Klaus vamp-speeds over to her and breaks her neck. Rebekah tries to intervene, but she wasn't fast enough.

"Well, that's enough of that, don't you think?" Klaus smirked.

Lizzie growled speeding him into a chokehold against the wall "What the bloody hell was that for?"

He ignored her and said "Now we can have a proper family meeting."

His hand falls onto mine gently rubbing her skin staring her in the eyes.

Sighing, she released him not before stabbing a small statue into his abdomen.

"Urgh." Klaus groaned, pulling it out easily.

"That's for snapping your sister's neck."Lizzie scowled standing beside Rebekah and her siblings.

"She's right. Nik, was that absolutely necessary?" Rebekah grinned.

"Oh, please, she was insufferable." Klaus scoffed.

Elijah pointed his finger angrily at him and says "That was ridiculous, even for you!"

" You've only just met her! Let's not get sentimental. Besides, if she was telling the truth about being immortal, she'll awaken shortly. If she was lying, good riddance." Klaus muttered.

"Yes. Of course, if she wakes, she'll be willing to help us now due to your pathetic ego."Liv laughed sarcastically.

"She played you all for fools! Can you not see that? She spins a sad yarn about a small child taken by an evil witch, and you both fall over yourselves to mend what's broken!" Klaus scoffed.

"How can you be so certain?"Luke asked.

"Simple. It's exactly what I'd do. My only question now is, what's in it for her?" Klaus smiled.

Elijah kneeled down to Freya's body, saying "Well, whatever the truth may be, she's in no position to help us now."

"Well, then we should try Marcel. Perhaps he's had luck on his end? Surely he's put in a better effort." Rebekah said, glaring furiously at Klaus before she storms out of the room.

"You know I'm right, Elijah! We can't have an alliance with someone we can't trust." Klaus said.

"You don't trust her, and that is your choice. I only hope that choice comes from a place of reason... not fear." Elijah told them before walking away with Derek, Ambrose, Liv and Luke.

"Why are you still here?" Klaus asked Lizzie.

"I have my reservations on where's Freya loyalties lay but I am willing to trust her, maybe you should try too."Lizzie shrugged before standing.

Lizzie stand in the corner of the bell tower watching as Freya gasped awake on the floor.

Her eyes race around the room, confusion and fear scattered in her movements.

Klaus grinned from his chair "Ah, you're awake. Well, clearly your restorative powers are not renowned for their speed."

"You dare lay your hands on me?" Freya stated furiously.

"Immortality is a bold play. I had to make sure you're telling the truth." Klaus commented.

Lizzie stepped forward, holding her out to Freya and says "I put him in his place, don't worry."

She hesitantly looked at her hand.

"Freya. I don't bite. I won't hurt you."The heretic whispered.

She reluctantly reaches for her hand letting Lizzie pull her to her feet.

"Why did you bring me here?" Freya asked leaning on Lizzie for support while she gained her balance.

"I couldn't very well have you stay in my home. That honor is something I reserve for those I consider family." Klaus smiled.

"Ignore him, he's being an ass."Lizzie told the witch.

"Well, you had a lovely audition. It just didn't seem to be the right fit." Klaus told Freya.

"I think Elijah felt otherwise. Rebekah, too. Although, Lizzie is slightly skeptical." Freya said, tilting her head at Lola.

"Yes, you did a fine job of convincing them with all your melodramatic tales. However, I suspect you were not entirely forthcoming. The truth is, Elijah and Rebekah can be a bit naive when it comes to family relations. Case in point, their unending faith in me! I repay that loyalty by guarding them against treachery they cannot see, and I suspect you are very treacherous indeed. You wish to worm your way into my family. Lizzie and I want to know why. So, sister, I'm going to give you one last chance to tell the full truth. I suggest you don't muck it up." Klaus explained leaning back in his chair.

Lizzie stand next to Klaus chair, watching Freya light up several candles. Klaus twists his arm around her waist tugging Kiara onto his lap.

"You want to know why I hate Dahlia? It goes back to a man. His name was Mathias. We knew each other for one perfect year in the early 1400s. I loved him more than my own life, and Dahlia allowed me to love him."Freya sighed.

"Of course. She wanted you to bear her another firstborn." Klaus stated monotonously.

"I broke my vow and gave into love, and that led to the darkest moment of my life. The day when I tried to steal from Dahlia that which she wanted most." Freya said, near tears.

"And what, precisely, was that?" Klaus asked.

Freya starts to cry and hesitates for a moment, her voice breaking when she eventually speaks "My son. Mathias only wanted our son to be born free. For that, Dahlia cursed him to death. I knew that I'd never be free of her, that my child would be born a slave. To spare us both the horrors of the life I'd known, I took a bottle of Dahlia's strongest poison. I wanted to die, for only death could give me the release I longed for. But Dahlia knew that my death was never an option. That was the day that I learned I could never die. It was Dahlia who made me do what I did. She turned me into a monster and I will destroy her for it. Tell me, brother, is that the truth you wanted to hear?"

Klaus holds back his emotions, saying "Whether I believe you or not is no matter. You told that tale in order to garner my sympathy, thinking the shared plight of a child in danger would bond us. But, I will not be manipulated!"

"Whatever you choose, one finale truth remains...Dahlia is coming for us. With me, you have a chance to defeat her. Without me, she will take your children and make them a slave. They will suffer as I had, never knowing their mother and father because Dahlia will have rendered you into ash." Freya warned.

"Are you quite finished? If there is to be an alliance between us, it will be one of my design. And if you ever try to control me again, sister, you will spend the rest of your immortal life regretting it." Klaus asked as he stands up.

"Then leave. I already have Elijah and Rebekah's trust, and I am not going anywhere. But, if I were you, brother, I would rethink your alliances as you go forward." Freya said, unimpressed.

Lizzie speed in front of her as she said "I don't know if I can trust you yet but I'm sorry about your baby."

Freya offered a small smile "I hope one day you'll be able to. In the meantime cherish the moments you have with Hope and Theo."

"Look I know you have no possible of trusting me but what I am telling you now is the truth. I have spent a thousand years with Dahlia. She was furious when Esther turned her children into vampires. Now that you and Klaus have children she will come for them." Freya then added.

"But what if she can't sense my children?" Lizzie asked.

"I'm not following exactly. Can one of you fill me in?" Freya frowned.

"I was born a siphon witch in my coven called the Gemini. I won't go through the horrible details but I had to draw magic from others. Until I turned so now I siphon off my own magical energy now. My children were conceived through me siphoning magic from Esther. Hope and Theo are born siphons like me."Lizzie began explaining, feeling Klaus drawing patterns on her lower back feeling the shakiness beginning to calm down.

"Wow... I have never heard of that type of witch before. But that might work in our favor..."Freya commented.

"Meaning what exactly?" Klaus asked.

Freya said "If Hope and Theo don't really have magic then Dahlia can't know about them. Hope and Theo are our secret advantage against Dahlia. We can put her down with their help."

Klaus grabbed Lizzie's hand and they left.

Later on, at the compound, Lizzie sat next to Klaus reaching out for an entire bottle of bourbon preparing down the entire thing when Hayley came besides them.

"We need to talk." Hayley told them.

Lizzie rolled her eyes pressing her bottles to her lips.

"Do we, indeed. You've come to express your gratitude and the courtesy that I've shown your husband? Or, perhaps you're here to thank me for my efforts to protect you and your pack?" Klaus huffed.

"All this tension between you, Lizzie, Jack and the wolves... we need to put it behind us. Give Jackson the space he needs to run the pack as he sees fit. No more orders, no more favors. He's Alpha. Period." Hayley said.

"I'm sorry, did you really think that I would ever agree to let Jackson control the wolves?" Klaus laughed mockingly.

Hayley raised his voice angrily "You will show him respect, Klaus. He is on our side, and he's fighting for the children."

"You know, I've spent all day with people who claim to be fighting for our children. Some, I trust. Some, I do not. But, one thing is for sure...there is only one person I trust when it comes to my children and that would be me, Jo, Luke, Faye, Sage and Elizabeth."Klaus told her.

Hayley glared at him.

"You know, you all seem to think that this is a democracy. I assure you, it is not!" Klaus exclaimed.

"If Dahlia is coming, then she is a threat to me and Klaus children, which means we decide how to protect them. No one else! And if Jackson or anyone strays from the course that we set, then they will answer to us." Lizzie said, clenching her jaw turning to Hayley.

"Now your husband would do well to remember that. In fact, I think I'll leave it to you to remind him. That way, when they does inevitably incur my wrath again, you'll only have yourself to blame." Klaus grinned.

Lizzie finished her bottle storming out of the courtyard speeding to a balcony overlooking the streets of New Orleans. She sense Klaus behind her hugging her waist, affectionately nuzzling his lips into her neck.

"She's coming, Nik. She'll take our children. What do we do?" Lizzie sighed worriedly.

"We trust no one. Only each other and a few others. Together we'll protect them." Klaus said as he kissed her cheek.
