A few days later, Faye and Sage were out of town to locate the Ascendant in hope to free Kai and Sage needed some time away from New Orleans which is why she had agreed to help the Bennett Heretic. Elijah marched into the compound, yelling "Brother! Niklaus!"

Lizzie marched out of her room into the foyer, followed by Hayley and Luke.

Lizzie was wearing a sweater with blue leather jacket, a small pant and some baskets.

"You do realize that literally everyone in here has supernatural hearing, right? Something I wish Lizzie and your brother would realise." Hayley asked.

"Nice one, Hayley."Lizzie said sarcastically.

"Where is my brother?" Elijah demanded.

"I'll check his calendar... Wait, no. Not his wife, so..."Hayley said, sarcastically.

"Hayley, this city is under siege by an army of beasts following my deranged mother's every command. Now, considering it was your people who just declared war on my kind, now's not the best time for your particular brand of sass." Elijah said, annoyed.

"Klaus left a while ago. Hayley, please deal with him." Lizzie said, walking away, pulling out her phone.

"If you want to find him, we can't help you. If only there was a magical device that people used to call people? I don't know. Oh! One more thing, Elijah... those 'beasts' that you're referring to? They may be under Esther's control, but, like you said, they're my people. So, if you hurt them, your bitch mother will be the least of your problems."Hayley told Elijah.

She then walked away.

Lizzie's phone rang and she looked to see Marcel's rang.

Lizzie answered, snarling "This better be really fucking good."

"Good to hear your voice, Lizzie." Marcel laughed.

"Don't act like we're friends, Marcel! You are so annoying." Lizzie scoffed.

"We had a wolf attack today, Lizzie. I know you have a good heart. And considering I currently can't get touch with Klaus, I was wondering if you could siphon the bite away? I know that you can cure werewolf bites with you and Valerie can cure it by siphonning it."Marcel told her.

"I'll be there soon." Lizzie promised before hanging up.

At the loft, the vampires, including Gia, Marcel, and Josh, are all meeting to discuss what to do with the werewolves' ultimatum.

"We don't wanna run." Gia said.

"We have to fight."Josh says.

" I know, and I respect that. But, believe me, there's a big difference between wanting to fight and knowing how to win." Marcel told them.

"So, show us! You've kicked their ass before, I'm guessing you didn't do it alone." Gia says, looking at Marcel.

"Umm, yeah, not that I don't dig the whole Karate Kid vibe that we got going on here, but... how are we supposed to learn to defend ourselves from an army of super-wolves in, like, one day?" Josh spoke up.

"With me." Lizzie said, walking into the loft.

Lola siphoned the vampires that had been bitten to cure them.

"You came." Marcel said.

"Didn't want to stay with the bunch of dogs. Anyway, what's the plan?" Lizzie told him.

"Where are Sage and Faye?"Marcel asked.

"They are out of town. With Finn's being on Esther's side, it getting hard for Sage so she is helping Faye getting the Ascendant from my older sister. Let's just say complicated Gemini stuff."Lizzie informed.

Marcel says "I forgot Sage was Finn's lover and the first one he ever turned. That must been hard for her."

"She's a tough one. She'll get over it."Lizzie stated.

Some time later, Lizzie picked up her phone, to the traitorous werewolf.

"Oliver. What do you want?" Lizzie sighed.

"Tonight. Esther's going to get at least a packs worth of untriggered, teenager werewolves to kill someone in order to turn." Oliver informed.

"What?!" Lizzie exclaimed.

"She's trying to increase their numbers, I don't know what to do. " Oliver said.

"Are any of them, the kids?" Lizzie asked.

"At least ten of them." Oliver replied.

"Stall for as long as possible. Me and Hayley will figure something else." Lola says before hanging up.

She sent Elijah to help Marcel and the vampires instead, while Hayley and her went out the Beau together, with the wolf who lead the attack, earlier that day, Aiden.

"Tell us about Esther's plan."Lizzie demanded.

"The witch wants soldiers. So now, it's either join up, or pay the price." Aiden said.

"They're just kids. Marcel, Luke and Ambrose told us, they'll help us but we need somewhere to take them."Hayley snapped.

"Which leads us here. They're still wolves deep in the Beau. They didn't want to join the others in the Compound, but still pledged their loyalty. They are part of the pack and they can be trusted." Lizzie sighed.

"How do you know?" Aiden asked.

"I just do." Lizzie said.

Hayley turned to Aiden, her arms crossed over her chest before she asked "Why are you helping us? What is it for you?"

" One of the recruits is my little brother. There's no way I'm sending him to war." Aiden admitted.

"Where are these kids?"Hayley asked.

"In the City of the dead, until I move them to St. Anne's church. While Vincent or whatever his name is, holds a meeting with some of the humans the humans who have..." Aiden announced.

"Get to the point."Hayley cut him off.

They reached the top of the hill, where Oliver was waiting for them, his arms crossed, in protest as Lizzie said "You escort the children, we'll handle the rest."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait...Esther and her psycho son are already giving me the stink-eye. If these kids go missing on my watch, I'm as good as dead." Oliver protested.

"You wanted to help your people and make amends for the past. This is your chance."Lizzie pointed out.

Oliver nodded.

"It's settled then. You take those kids, we'll save them." Lizzie declared.

She didn't wait for a reply as she and Hayley took off, heading to finalise the plan with Elijah.

"Where are they?" Hayley asked.

They had been waiting for at least ten minutes longer than the agreed-upon time. They were starting to panic. There was a high chance, that something could have gone wrong, something neither of them would ever be able to shake from their conscience.

"They should be here." Lizzie said.

Suddenly, Oliver appeared around the corner with the group of kids and they sighed in relief.

They leads the children through the tunnels, Gia puts a finger to her lips to remind them to stay quiet. Josh leads with a flashlight, and when they come up upon a metal gate, he breaks it down.

"Hey, where's Marcel?" Josh asked.

"Uh, he's getting the getaway car." Gia said.

"Hey! Big-mouth! Shut it! There are werewolves everywhere."Hayley snapped.

In the parking garage, Elijah and Oliver are waiting when they hear a noise.

"Here we go. About time."Oliver said.

Suddenly, they were surrounded by a large group of werewolves.

"Don't bother trying to run. We've got you surrounded." A werewolf said.

"What, you don't think that we would be dumb enough to bring them here, do you?" Oliver laughed.

"Yes, I so do apologize for any inconvenience. The little ones you seek are elsewhere. Which, I suppose, leaves you here with me."Elijah smiled.

" You're the ones that don't seem to understand! We're not looking for the kids. The witch wants you." The werewolf said.

Elijah, anticipating a fight, starts to take off his jacket as he steps toward the werewolf.

"Listen to me very carefully... I told a good friend that I'd do my very best to spare the lives of her people. You leave right now? I will honor that. Stay, and the situation becomes irrefutably awkward." Elijah smiled patronizingly.

The werewolf's lip twitches as he braces himself for a fight. The rest of the wolves do the same. Elijah turns to Oliver, rolling his eyes when he realizes the other wolves intend to fight.

"Very well." Elijah said before turning to Oliver and says "You should probably leave."

Elijah throws his jacket and his tie aside.

"Either I'm in, or I'm out, right?" Oliver sighed.

Elijah nodded in understanding, and he and Oliver stand back to back in preparation for the oncoming violence.

At the Gas Station, Josh has just led the werewolf children to Marcel, who is waiting with the ambulance they're using as a getaway vehicle. Marcel quickly hops out of the front seat and gestures toward the children to get in the back.

"Let's go! Move!"Marcel said.

The children pile into the back of the ambulance, as Marcel helps them up. Nick, Aiden's little brother, is about to get in when Aiden arrives, saying "Nick!"

"Aiden! You made it!" Nick smiled as the two embraced each other.

"Of course I did! I told you I'd be here, didn't I? Go." Aiden says as he pats Nick on the head and gestures for the ambulance.

Hayley and Lizzie close up the ambulance. Aiden and Josh give each other a look before Aiden walks over to Marcel.

"Thank you. All of you." Aiden said.

"We're both fighting for the same thing, you know. Just trying to save the ones that we love."Hayley told him.

Aiden smiles at her. Marcel claps Aiden kindly on the shoulder before going to get in the driver's seat of the ambulance as Hayley and Lizzie joined him. Aiden takes one last look at Nick through the back window before they leave.

In the parking garage, Oliver and Elijah have just finished taking out all of the werewolves. They're both covered in blood, and Oliver has ripped one of the werewolves' arms off.

"Well, I guess this is all they got." Oliver panted.

"So it would seem." Elijah says, looking around.

Suddenly, Elijah screams out in pain as his muscles seize up. Oliver looks around in alarm and sees that Vincent/Finn has arrived and is casting a pain infliction spell on Elijah.

"Actually, I am just getting started." Finn smirked.

He balls his hand into a fist and Elijah falls to his knees in agony. When Oliver lunges for him, Finn uses telekinesis to throw him backwards against a car. He falls to the floor, unconscious. Elijah takes advantage of Finn's distraction and vamp-speeds toward him and grabs him in a choke-hold against a car.

"Perhaps your next body will last longer than this one, brother."Elijah says as he was about to snap his neck when suddenly, a regular wooden stake impales him from behind. Elijah gasps and moans in pain. Behind him, Lenore/Esther is standing, having telekinetically staked him. She holds out her hand and twists it, which twists the stake until Elijah falls neutralized to the ground. Oliver has just awoken and is watching in horror.

After their mission, everyone have returned to Marcel's apartment, where he pours the girls drinks. Hayley and Lizzie accepts one and smiles.

"Well, we did it! I never thought I'd see the day when 'we' meant us."Hayley laughed happily.

"Well, you're a vampire now. First rule is never say never, 'cause never ain't that long. And, what we did today was the right thing. But, you know it's gonna make things worse between your people and mine." Marcel said.

Hayley notices Gia staring out the window and calls out to her "There's a life lesson for you, baby vamp. It always gets worse before it gets better."

"Yes." Lizzie agreed.

Hayley grabs a second drink and walks over to sit next to Gia on the window seat. She hands Gia a drink, but Gia still looks worried.

"We left Elijah out there." Gia said.

" Look, I worry about a lot of things where Elijah's concerned. But, trust me...he can take care of himself. "Lizzie sighed.

Lizzie smiled at Gia , who smiles weakly back.
