Wishes
Hayley called Lizzie the next day, telling her that she had managed to win the crescents over. But her and Jackson were going ahead with the unification ritual. Lizzie told her that she knew before hanging up.
Luke was talking with his sister.
"What's on your mind?" Luke asked.
"Kai. I don't think freeing him is the solution."Lizzie explained.
"So what do we do?"Luke asked.
"I hate saying this but maybe if Kai get out, he's too dangerous and we might ask Dad for help. We would prove our worth to dad if we kill Kai and he might accept to leave us alone."Lizzie pointed out.
"It is worth a shot."Luke said nodding.
Rebekah entered the room, a few moments later.
"What?" Lizzie asked.
"Nothing." Luke said.
"Who was that on the phone?"Lizzie asked.
"Nik. They're on their way right now with Ambrose, Hayley and Elijah." Rebekah explained.
"They're coming here?" Lizzie repeated.
"Is that a problem?" Rebekah asked.
"No, I wasn't just expecting it. But your brother tend to surprise me in more ways that I can count." Lizzie smiled.
The next day, Rebekah started to build a fire in the afternoon while Luke and Lizzie sat on the porch doting over Hope and Theo.
Lizzie was wearing a T-shirt with a jacket, a pant and some boots.
"Is there a reason for the bonfire?" Luke asked.
" It's bonfire season! And I am reviving a family tradition! Especially since we're all going to be together."Rebekah smiled, as she got, heading over to them and holding Theo in her arms.
"Really?"Lizzie asked.
"Don't mock me. "Rebekah said as Theo giggled in Rebekah's arms.
"Such simple things, children. If only I'd known back then, how much joy they could bring me. Being away with them, made me see things differently. We're not so bad. We're not the monsters that our parents think we are." Rebekah muttered, kissing Theo's cheek.
It was at that moment, a car, sped down the track. Klaus, Hayley and Elijah pulled up. Lizzie had never seen Hayley run so fast in her life. She stopped short in front of her and Hope and in front of Rebekah and Theo.
"Come say hello."She said with a gleeful smile on her lips.
Hayley looked down at the Mikaelson babies twins in awe as she held their small, fragile hand.
Lizzie looked over, to see Klaus staring at them. Rebekah handed over Theo to Lizzie. Lizzie smiled, walking over to him and handing him Hope and Theo.
His face went from stone cold to delight in seconds. It was a beautiful sight to see. Hope and Theo made noises, making them laugh as they cooed over their children. History could never have foreseen, Klaus Mikaelson in such a position.
Luke, Rebekah, Elijah and Hayley just smiled as they continued to laugh, their children in their arms.
Somehow, Klaus and Lizzie had ended up building the bonfire with Rebekah. She had perfected the art of talking the two, into doing whatever she wanted.
"Finn told me about the reason why Esther tried to kill Hope and Theo." Klaus declared.
"Why?" Lizzie asked, throwing a log onto the fire.
"He claimed, there's a curse on the firstborns." Klaus announced.
"Curse on the first-born? What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" Rebekah asked as she continued to stack the fire.
"Well, according to Finn, our sister Freya didn't die of plague. She was taken as payment by our aunt Dahlia, who then cursed all Mikaelson first-borns for eternity." Klaus explained.
"Is any of this true?" Hayley asked.
" It is if we are to believe Finn, who learned it from the bastion of truth, our mother." Elijah said with malice as he came out of the house with Luke.
"Well, no wonder Finn hates us. He lost the sister he adored, and instead got a judgy pack of siblings who found him unbearably dull." Rebekah retorted, making everyone smile as Hope and Theo giggled in their mother's arms.
"That's lovely. More problems. Is there any chance we'll run into the Wicked Witch of the West?"Lizzie retorted sarcastically.
"The fable's over a thousand years old. Dahlia is long dead." Elijah told her in attempt of reassurance.
"Like how your mother was dead? Or Finn? Or, oh, I don't know. Mikael?"Lizzie remarked, turning to face him.
" No one's going to hurt Hope and Theo, because no one's going to find them."Klaus assured.
He then said to his sister "There's enough wood, Rebekah. You'll burn down the whole bloody state of Arkansas."
"Well, we're just missing a key ingredient!" Rebekah smiled.
"No, we're not." Klaus replied.
"Yes, we are, Nik! Back me up, Elijah!" Rebekah said as Elijah started laughing, while Klaus did his very best not to.
"I suspect Niklaus would rather choke on the ashes." Elijah remarked.
"What are you all talking about?" Hayley frowned.
"Well, before we light it, we write down our wishes for each other to burn for luck! It was Kol's favorite part when we were kids!" Rebekah explained.
"It's further evidence as to why we should ignore it!" Klaus retorted.
"Hope and Theo's first bonfire season. I like it! We're doing it!" Lizzie smiled, heading back into the house.
Rebekah grinned at her brothers.
Klaus sat in the kitchen playing with Hope and Theo, Lizzie, by his side reading one of the Gemini covens grimoires.
Hayley walked in smiling and gave Klaus a notepad.
"Here." She declared.
"I'm holding two small children, in my arms, Hayley, the silly wish game will have to wait!" Klaus said, smiling down at the babies.
"Don't be an ass."Lizzie muttered.
"You write, I hold." Hayley shrugged.
"You do realize it is not I who is to be the husband you can boss around?" Klaus replied, grinning.
"Nik, darling, you do realise that I had to endure horrendous labor and actual death birthing the children you're holding." Lizzie retorted, while flipping a page in the grimoire she was holding.
Hayley smirked as she looked at Klaus expectingly.
"Fine." Klaus said, as he gave the babies to Hayley.
"I wish Hayley would tell all the family you're marrying your werewolf suitor, and to see their reactions."He respited smirking as he held out the paper to Hayley.
Lizzie whacked him around the head with one of her discarded grimoires, making him gasp in shock. Hayley didn't wait a moment, grabbing the paper, screwing it up and throwing it onto the floor before walking away with Hope and Theo in her arms.
"You should be nicer to her."Lizzie said, grabbing the notepad.
"Are you really participating in this?"Klaus asked.
"Come on it'll be fun."Lizzie said.
Klaus lit the fire and Hope and Theo gasped and smiled as the fire began to roar. Luke, Hayley and Lizzie laughed.
"Hey! Look what I found! I wonder if it'll work?" Rebekah exclaimed, drawing everyone's attention as she left the house.
"Oh, bloody hell."Klaus sighed.
"Come on, let's try it! Hey, Nik, do you think you can cram us all into a selfie?" Rebekah asked, handing him the camera.
"Oh, Niklaus is a virtuoso at cramming his siblings into confined spaces." Elijah commented.
"I'm glad, I travelled hundred of miles to my daughter and son, with my mentally ill brother, only to have him insult me to my face!" Klaus snarled.
"Oh, come on, just take the picture!" Luke sighed.
"Smile!" Lizzie said.
He pulled them all closer. All of them smiled at the camera, all but Klaus and the babies.
"Aw, see? I wish that it could always be like this." Rebekah smiled.
"If wishes were horses..." Elijah says.
"Beggars would ride." Luke concluded, suddenly frowning.
"You realize we'll have to burn it. You want me to make a wish for the family, Rebekah? I wish it didn't have to be like this. But, it does." Klaus declared, handing the photo to Lizzie.
"We can't risk it falling into the wrong hands." Luke agreed.
Lizzie wandered over the fire, throwing it into the flames, letting it to be consumed burning to ash, it was tragically beautiful truth.
"No! This isn't right. We deserve this. We've earned this." Rebekah said.
"Rebekah..." Hayley trailed.
"I won't let it slip away. I know what to do to stop Esther." Rebekah declared.
"Rebekah, no."Hayley said, knowing what what she was thinking.
"I'm going to take her deal. And, when I do, I'm taking her down with me." Rebekah announced.
Later that afternoon, Lizzie kissed Klaus softly on the lips as he stands getting out off the now messy bed.
"I have to go, Love." Klaus whispered.
"I know, I'm just worried. I mean... What if things don't go to plan?"Lizzie frowned.
"Then we'll figure it out, like we always do." Klaus smiled.
"Stay safe." Lizzie whispered, kissing him on the lips passionately.
"Always, little siphon." Klaus told her as they entered Hope and Theo's nursery and Klaus bends down kissing her bed lovingly.
"I've got to go. I love you, Elizabeth." Klaus said.
