Chapter Thirty-Nine: Wait, What's In That Duffel Bag?
Okay, not really, we just drove around the city to past the time.
It was great feeling for some reason. To be going out with someone, to be someone's girlfriend while you have a boyfriend. You always know that someone likes you very much, someone's there for you, always there for you. I looked at Parker and smiled.
He glanced at me. "Why are you smiling?"
I shrugged. "The question isn't why, it's why not?"
Parker laughed. "Good answer."
Now the both of us were smiling. He took my hand and drove the car with his left hand as he held my hand in the other. Then Parker stopped the car at the red light and we waited patiently for it to turn green. We kept on sneaking glances at each other, knowing that one is looking at other.
He sighed. "I can't take more of this."
Parker looked around suspiciously to see if anyone was watching. Then he leaned across the car's center console towards me. Well, I was just happy we were both thinking the same thing. I began to lean towards him too when suddenly we were stopped. But it wasn't by a car honk, but by a phone ring.
I sighed and took out my phone. "Hello?"
"I'll hold," Parker said to me, frowning a bit but making me chuckle.
"NO! Naomi, don't you dare kiss him!" Someone's voice exclaimed through the phone, making me jerk back at the volume.
I blinked. "Jordan?" I asked in disbelief.
"Don't even think about it!" He ordered me.
"What the-" I muttered. "How did you know I was going to kiss him?" I demanded.
Parker looked at me. "What?"
"Don't you dare try to change the subject young lady, especially when you were about to PDA for the whole city to see!"
"And I'm going to ask again, how did you-" I paused when I realized it. "No, you did not."
There was no answer.
I gasped. "You did! I can't believe you!"
It was the Trace Ace! I should have turned off the GPS when I had the chance! No, I regret ever agreeing to this!
I began to look around, even sticking my head out the window. "Where are you? I'm going to kill you!"
"Now Naomi, don't be mad, we're only-"
"-being crazy stalkers!" I yelled at him. "This is a total invasion of my privacy! How dare you do this! I am going to kill you and the other two!"
"What did I do?" Bennett's voice asked. "I mean, I get you wanting to kill Declan and Jordan. It was Declan's idea to bring the bats-" yes, he said the bats "-but why me?"
"'Cause you're driving!"
"Oh, I get it." He said, calmly. "Well then, continue."
The car went back to moving as soon as the light turned green.
"Is there something wrong sweetheart?" Parker asked me concerned.
"No, nothing's wrong, sweetie," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm just talking to Jordan while picturing his murder in excruciating detail." I growled at the phone, I heard a slight whimper from the phone.
"You're talking to Jordan?" Parker asked, ignoring the last part. "Tell him I said hi."
"My boyfriend says hi," I told Jordan.
Parker smiled. "Say it again."
"Say what again?"
"Boyfriend. I like being called that, say it again."
"Um okay," I said before saying, "Boyfriend."
His grin widened. It was so cute and stupid that I couldn't help but smile too.
"Say it again."
I laughed. "Boyfriend."
"Can you spell it?"
"B-O-Y-F-R-I-E-N-D."
"Ugh, get a room," Jordan grumbled, there was a slight pause before he exclaimed. "Wait, don't you dare!"
Parker and I burst out laughing.
"Hold it," Declan voice said from the phone. "Did you just spell out boyfriend?"
"Oh, so he can spell," I commented in amazement.
"Very funny," he said. "And I'm serious."
"Yes, I did," I told him. "What of it?"
"Please tell me you mean a friend that's a boy."
"I'm afraid I can't," I said. "Probably because we're... more than friends," I said with a sly grin.
"Hmm, that's what I thought." Declan said calmly before yelling, "Drive, Bent, drive!"
Suddenly I heard honks from behind us. I looked at the side view mirror while Parker glanced at the rear view mirror. But it vanished behind us and came up beside us. We both looked to the right and we might as well push our sunglasses down in disbelief and give a low whistle.
"Is that-"
"Yes, yes it is."
It was a grey Maserati GranCabrio that was rolling next to us with no one else but the guys in it. Someone just kill me now, just please. The guys were glaring daggers at the both of us. Bennett pointed at his eyes with two fingers then pointed them at us, giving us the look, not a look, the look. Declan was pounding his fist into his palm, and then cracking his knuckles that could be heard from here. And Jordan was making the gesture of slicing his neck and pointing at us. Then all at once, they held up the bats in one hand that Bennett was talking about. Then they pointed the bats to us, but I think they mean Parker mostly. I think they were all referring to Parker. I looked at him and I saw him visibly gulp.
"Well that settles it," he said, looking back at the road. "I'm going to die."
"Don't worry, Parker," I assured him. "You can beat him."
He looked at me in disbelief. "What? You expect me to race him? Must I remind you that that's a Maserati? A Maserati! This is a Mitsubishi. I Mitsu-wish-i I can beat this. You know I'm scared because I'm making lame puns. I can't race a Maserati with this Mitsubishi*. Oh yeah, I just called it that. Do you know why? Because we're not going to win." He began looking around the car. "Where's the white flag? I'm going to wave it. Oh, here it is."
"Parker, you already beat Bennett in the Mercedes-Benz. You can beat him again in a Maserati."
"But it's a Maserati!"
I was actually watching him as he was freaking out a bit. Well honestly, you can't blame him. The Three Musketeers giving you gestures while in a Maserati can make even a grown man piss himself. He was hyperventilating, fidgeting in his seat, and still looking for that white flag.
"I know," I told him. "Now calm down."
"I can't calm down!"
"Parker, calm down."
"Naomi, if you're not noticing, I'm freaking out right now. There are three guys in a Maserati giving me the thought that they will kill me when they get the chance. I'm too young to die! I don't know-"
He suddenly stopped talking when I cut him off by kissing him on the cheek. When I backed up he didn't seemed to be freaking out anymore, more of being shocked and was left stupidly blinking as he stared at the road. The guys saw this and started yelling at us to stop the car or they'll do it for us. But I ignored them and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Can you calm down for me?"
Parker nodded, not wanting to say anything or else he'll go back to rambling.
"Are you going to freak out on me or am I going to have to smack you at the back of the head, telling you to get a good grip like I did back at tutoring?"
He shook his head.
"Good," I sail, giving him an assuring smile. "Remember Parker, you know this city like the back of your hand."
He snorted. "Are you kidding? You weren't saying that back when I brought us to a dead end."
"But who was it that did that awesome J-turn and leave Bennett in the dust?"
"Me."
"And who's going to leave not only Bennett, but Jordan and Declan in the dust now?"
"Me?"
"Yes, you," I told him. "You really do know the city like the back of your hand because of that walk that we took."
"But is it enough?" He asked me.
I grinned at him. "I don't know, let's see for ourselves."
Parker thought about this, probably running through the different scenarios in his head. Will he raise the white flag and feel the wrath of the Musketeers or will he beat them in racing and hope for the best?
He took a deep sigh. "Man, the things I do for love."
I blinked. "Wha-"
But I was cut off when Parker suddenly hit the gas, speeding away from the Musketeers. The two cars, a Mitsubishi and a Maserati were racing down the streets, swerving around cars, beating red lights, taking sharp turns left and right. It was thrilling, exciting, as if we were being in a police car chase. Only it was worst, it was a Musketeer car chase. Parker then suddenly took a sharp right into this street, going through an alley and into another street. I looked back and saw that we lost the guys.
I stared at him. "How did you know that alley was there?"
He shrugged. "I think I remember us passing by it when we walked."
I smiled. "See, I told you that you know the city like the back of your hand."
Parker looked at the back of his hand. "Well, that's new."
I laughed as he went back to driving. Parker was keeping a cool head now, being focused in driving. I couldn't help but keep on glancing at the side view mirror, until I saw the Maserati back on our tail. Bennett was practically shooting lasers at us as the guys kept on waving their bats in the air and yelling at us. Soon the Maserati was back at the right side of my car.
"Naomi!" The guys yelled at me.
I calmly propped my elbow against the window and leaned my head on it. I smiled brightly at them, batting my eyes. "Yes boys, can I help you with anything?"
"Yeah, can you stop the car?" Bennett demanded through gritted teeth.
"We promise we won't kill you," Jordan assured me, "only Parker," he said with a growl.
I winked at them. "Sorry, but I'm not going to give up my boyfriend just to save my own skin."
I glanced back at Parker who was smiling proudly at this. Then I looked back at the guys.
"Don't you have anything better to do?" I demanded.
"No," all of them said in unison.
"We much rather chase you around the city."
"And threaten you a lot."
"And kill your ex-boyfriend."
I frowned. "He isn't my ex."
"He will be."
I glared at them. "You do know this counts as stalking, right?"
Declan snorted. "So what?"
"Section 15, Article five!" I declared.
Bennett have might as well stopped the car in a sudden halt. The color in their faces drained away. They looked at me in disbelief, not knowing what to do. They all shared the same look on their faces that was just saying, "oh no".
"No."
"It can't be."
"Don't say it!"
Parker looked at me. "What?"
"Naomi is off limits," I announced. "There would be no stalking (creepy, pervert in love stalking). Naomi is none other a friend in a friend zone, nothing more, nothing less!"
Parker said it again. "What?"
"Wait, no!" Jordan exclaimed. "This doesn't count!"
I blinked. "What do you mean?"
"When we mean stalking, we mean one-sided love, creepy, perverted stalking. This is friends who care and want to kill her boyfriend stalking."
"That doesn't make any sense!"
"Your relationship doesn't make any sense!"
"Look who's talking!" I exclaimed. "Your relationship with the girls doesn't make any sense!"
Jordan opened his mouth to say something, but he suddenly closed it.
"And wait! There's more!" I announced. "There will also be no attempts to stop her from making a relationship!"
All three of them cursed under their breath.
"Hey!" Bennett said. "That doesn't count!"
"And why is that?" I snapped.
"You're already in a relationship. We're not stopping you from making one if you're already in one."
I cursed under my breath.
"Then what are you doing?" I demanded.
"We're going to kill your boyfriend!" They all said in unison.
Parker cursed under his breath.
"This is your last chance, Naomi," Declan warned me.
"What's that?" I called out. "I can't hear you! We're too busy being ahead of you!" I said as I closed my window and Parker drives past them.
The Maserati kept on trying to swerve around us, but Parker kept on driving in front of them so they couldn't. Parker told me to hold on and took a sudden right turn, surprising me as well as the guys. I watched as the car drove straight ahead, the guys waving their fists at us. Parker and I drove the next few minutes in silence, wondering the same thing until I finally asked the question.
"You think we lost them?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I think we- Nope, spoke to soon."
As we past the next spotlight that was turning yellow to red, we saw the Maserati at the opposite street. When we passed the light, the other streetlight turned green the guys crossed the next street. I knew that they could pop into the same street as us any second now. If they're lucky, they can even cut us off. I looked at my phone and remembered about that stupid app. I opened the app up and turned off my GPS, my icon vanishing from the map. I chuckled evilly to myself, knowing Jordan who must have been looking at the map cursing me for turning off my GPS.
"When are they going to quit?"
"Probably when they throw my body into the river."
I shook my head. "No, that's an amateur move. I know them better. They'd throw you into the ocean."
"Yeah, you're right."
I looked down at the map of my phone. The guys didn't turn off their GPS, so I'm able to see their three icons on the map. I frowned as I watched the icons coming closer and closer to the position I am on the map. Wait, they were driving right towards us from the right, so they must be-
Suddenly the Maserati came out of nowhere, driving right towards us from the intersecting street, ignoring the red light. Luckily, Parker had good reflexes and swerved around them. I looked at the side view mirror and saw the car back on our tail now. And it was catching up to us, slowly but steadily until it was right back next to us.
"You miss us?" Declan called out to us with a sly smirk.
I grumbled something under my breath and ignored them.
"Hey sweetheart?" Parker asked me.
"Yeah?"
"Could you get that duffel bag at the back seat for me?"
"Sure."
I turned around and looked at the back seat of the car. It was pretty messy back there. I sticked out my hand and began to search for the duffel bag. Then I felt what seemed like it and yanked it out. It was a pretty heavy but I was able to haul it from the back seat and onto my lap.
"Hold your breath when you open it," he said as he opened the car windows letting the air in.
I frowned at the strange advice but did it anyway. I help my breath and unzipped the duffel bag. I instantly jerked back at the awful stench, my hands flying over my nose to shield from it.
"Ugh, what is that?" I cried.
I stared at the duffel bag seeing shirts, shorts, socks, and towels. This is beyond disgusting, as disgusting as... I can't even think of anything as disgusting at this.
Parker grinned. "Weeks-old unwashed gym clothes," he said proudly.
I gagged at the sound of that. "And why do you have this exactly?" I demanded.
"For something like this," Parker said, then he glanced at me. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"If you're thinking how much of a brilliant evil-genius my boyfriend is, then I'd be wondering who this boyfriend is."
He winked at me. "There's a sunroof. Let them have it, sweetheart."
Kids, don't try this at home.
With a sly grin, I unbuckled my seat belt and opened the sunroof manually. I hesitated but then I stuck my head out the window, meeting the wind at the speeds of a racing car. My foot slipped on the middle compartment of the car, but I felt Parker's hand on my ankle to keep my balance. I sighed in relief, thankful for this.
"You okay, sweetheart?"
"I'm good."
"Be careful."
"I will."
I was able to pull myself up on the sunroof. With the help of Parker, he held the duffel bag out to me and I took it out onto the roof of the car.
"You miss me?" I called out to the guys.
"Naomi, what are you doing?"
"Get down! You're going to get hurt!"
"Wait, what's in that duffel bag?"
I laughed evilly. "Feel my wrath of... weeks-old dirty gym clothes!"
The looks on their faces were priceless. It was like they have come face to face with their worst nightmares. Their looks had pure mortification on them. I began to flung clothes one by one at them with great aim. They kept on trying to swat them away, some dropped to the street but others landed into the car. I knew that it must have already be stinking up the car. I threw at their heads, trying to aim for a head shot. But I didn't try to his Bennett, not wanting to blind him and make a car accident or make him pass out from the smell. Sometimes I'd throw it at the steering wheel or at the back of his seat. I didn't want to kill them, I just wanted to traumatize them for life.
"This... Is... For... Stalking... Me!" I exclaimed, throwing the clothes at them with every word. "Smell... My... Wrath!"
"Argh! Stop it!"
"No, it burns!"
"I'm dying! Dying!"
The car kept on swerving left and right because of Bennett's panicked driving. I guess he didn't want this car to be stinking up anymore than it could have been and he's trying to avoid them. I threw one of the P.E shorts at the car and it flew onto the windshield. All of the guys screamed (like little girls in my opinion) as the car suddenly swerved right. But Bennett was able to put on the brakes as the car drove onto the sidewalk and almost hit someone. I waved goodbye to them as they waved their fists at me. I watched as a police officer walked over to the scene and began talking with Bennett and the guys.
Ooh, they're in trouble.
I went back into the car and sat back down. Then Parker and I drove off to the sunset or well, the next red light.
So how was the new chapter? Some more Three Musketeers action, huh? There have been a lot of questions lately like: Where's Domi? Well, Domi is here.
Domi: Hi.
Rubix: How are you doing Domi?
Domi: I'm doing good.
Rubix: Did your parents give you that name?
Domi: No, Nomi did. I miss Nomi. Where is-
Back to the story! Domi will be coming quite soon, I promise. How soon? We'll see... Will the guys ever have their own P.O.V? I've decided the book will be ONLY first-person P.O.V of Naomi. But I thought of something, but I'm still working on it. Will Naomi ever have a girl friend? Honestly? I'm a bit selfish with Naomi. She's been through so much, the least she can do is have hot boy heaven. But like I said with the last question, I thought of something, but I'm still working on it. Another question is why are the guys with the girls? It will come later in the book. Where will be more gang action? It will come later in the book. When will-
It. Will. Come. Later. In. The. Book.
Rome wasn't built in one day people. Patience you grasshoppers. Hopefully you know what patience means unlike Jordan...
Jordan blinked. "What does pa-tience mean?" He asked as he cocked his head to the side.
This is dedicated to Sophie_J_ W, a special shout out to her. She made a comment saying, "(Looks back of hand) That's new" and I thought that would brilliant for another car chase with Parker. She's the best commentor a book OR author could ever had. The murder threats are scary sometimes, but she's funny so I'm cool with her. Thanks for that genius comment, Sophie! Check out her profile. ONLY her profile, hopefully there are no perverts 'round these parts...
At the right (if on the computer) or top (if on the phone) you'd happen to see a picture. A collage really of the guys and Naomi. But what's this? Who's the hunk at the bottom right? That's right! It's Declan! I was passing the time, watching TMZ when they started talking about the new Power Rangers movie. My brother and I love-
Making fun of them.
But before you all start hating us, it was only the costumes and the part where they pose in front of the explosion. If it makes you feel any better, the both of us had some special sibling bonding as we made explosion noises and pretended the rangers flew from the explosion. Ka-boom! Splat! Power Rangers- Nooooo! Anyway, two of the rangers, the red and yellow one were in the beach. And when I saw him (Red ranger mind you), my jaw just... dropped. I'm not kidding. I was thinking. "It's Declan. OMG, Declan is the Red Ranger!" The Red Ranger is played as this guy named Andrew Gray. So yes, I changed the cast of Declan as the Red- I mean Andrew Gray. He certainly looks like Declan, with the muscles and the... muscles... And the hair. I love his hair. The other guy, Lucas what's his face, didn't have the Declan hair I picture. THIS guy does. So meet Declan everyone! Decomi fans, you have the permission to swoon.
Declan: Hi. Power Rangers go! Sorry, force of habit.
Ha ha ha. (Plays Power Rangers theme song)
I always plan to make small author's notes, but I just make them so long. Whoa, that came out wrong... But you get what I mean. And this has been on my mind for a while but what if Bennett had... a British accent? I think it'll make him infinity times more hotter. Imagine him with a British accent. Do you see it? How about it Bennomi fans? Leave your comments below about that.
