What are the chances, you may ask, that your crush likes you back. If your crush has never so much as made eye contact with you, what are the chances that he likes you back?
My crush has exactly a 0.35842294% chance of liking me back.
A 0.35842294% chance that when I'm not looking at him, he's looking at me.
A 0.35842294% chance that he falls asleep with me on his mind.
A 0.35842294% chance that we could beat the odds.

NOTES
-Oddly enough, this plot was inspired by a very small scene in Glee... Basically it was looking back on when Rachel and Finn first saw each other. They're both walking down the hall, going in opposite directions, and they're about to pass each other. Rachel's looking at Finn with a 'Wow, he's really cute" look. They pass each other with Finn not knowing she was looking at him. After they've passed each other Finn looks back at her with a "Wow, she was pretty cute" look. And it was kind of just one of those moments where you were just hit with inspiration.

-An actual note, Emilia is a quiet Hufflepuff with not many friends. She's pretty average in her classes and doesn't like to attend big social events. It's completely crazy to her few friends that she likes someone as loud and crazy as James.

-If it wasn't obvious, James does like Emilia back. They have the same mindset of "He/She doesn't like me back". James handles it differently though, trying to get over her by going out with other girls.

-The description is when they first talk to each other. One of the teachers tells them to stay after class and gives them the shocking news that they'll be helping each other through classes because they're both just barely passing. They're in the library awkwardly reading through their own textbooks when James closes his and tries to talk about something else, eventually leading to the topic of crushes.

-There should be a handful of chapters before they start studying together that expresses how unlikely it would be that they ever even looked at each other. That's what the plots about and as tempting as it might be to just have them confess, they're beating the odds.
