Chapter 17: Nico
Okay guys, there's just something that I really need to get off my tongue right now. It's really random but it's been bugging me.
First off, let me clarify something: I still really hate Octavian. I laughed when he died.
But, if he wasn't such a butt face, I would really ship him with Rachel! Because Rachel deserves a guy and if you delete all of Octavian's awful things, he would be a pretty nice guy (Even though you'd have to delete a lot XD)
One more thing: would you guys want me to post pictures of my PJO/HoO fan art? It's really bad... But still?
Thanks for indulging my random outbursts!

Nico knew what was wrong with Annabeth. She had the smell of death all over her.
Well her didn't know know. He had a guess.
He had battled many dark forces throughout his short, sad lifetime. But for some reason he could always tell each dark force apart. They each had a different aura.
And the aura surrounding Annabeth smelled an awful lot like Kronos. It felt almost like being around Luke again; like Kronos's spirit was inside her.
Maybe Kronos wanted revenge on what she and Percy did to him. Maybe he wanted to harm Percy through what he held most dear.
Or maybe Kronos just really really hated Demigods.
Yep. That's definitely it.
Nico was doing the first watch of the night. He stood alone on the top deck, staring into the tossing sea.
In these moments, alone and nothing to distract him, he thought of Bianca. He missed her so much. It felt like... Like... He didn't even have the words to describe it.
He looked up at the stars and saw the outline of Zoë Nightshade. He knew it wasn't Bianca, but it was the closest he could get.
Nico wasn't a crier. Not even as a kid. When Bianca had died, of course he cried a little bit, but he was mostly just angry.
But in this moment of silence, he felt a single tear make its way down his cheek.
He felt the warmth of a hand on his shoulder. He spun around and reached for his black sword at his waist.
He met Reyna's warm eyes. He instantly relaxed and turned back towards the ocean.
Nico heard Reyna move to stand next to him. She leaned against the railing and looked out over the vast sea that was storming relentlessly.
"Lord Neptune's angry tonight." She whispered quietly, as if trying not to disturb the silence.
Nico nodded, "All the gods are agitated at what's happening. You can feel it in the balance."
Reyna looked over at him and her brow creased, "What's wrong?"
Nico met her eyes, "Nothing."
She smiled softly, "I know you, Nico."
His body tensed up, while his mind relaxed, soothed by her kindness.
He closed his eyes for a moment, "Reyna, did anyone ever tell you about my sister?"
Reyna shook her head, making brown hair sway. Nico realized it was the first time he had ever seen it loose and not in a tight braid. It was... Pretty.
Nico instantly scolded himself for thinking that. He always had Will. Will was, well, he was Will. And Reyna was Reyna.
Nico broke his gaze from her and ran a hand through his disheveled hair, "She died. She was killed by a freaking robot." He slammed his fist on the rail, angrily.
Then she did something Nico thought was a one time thing. She hugged him. Of course, she had hugged him after the Giant War, but they had just been fighting for their lives. He wasn't expecting this.
But instead of pulling away, he let her hug him. He buried his head in the crook of her neck and sobbed. He had never cried like this in his life.
After a few minutes, Reyna let her arms fall away from him.
Nico turned to her and whipped his damp eyes, "Reyna, I-"
"No." She interrupted quickly.
Nico gave her a confused look.
Reyna sighed and wrung her hands, "Nico, there's something I've been meaning to talk to you about. I'm not sure how you feel - I don't really think anyone does - but I'd rather be safe then sorry." She took a deep breath, "I don't feel the way about you that some people think I do."
She paused and Nico was horror stricken. Did she like him?!
"I... I don't like you." She finally said, then quickly added, "I mean I like you as a friend! You a great person! Just not in the way some people may think..."
Nicole out a sigh of relief and actually laughed. He stepped forward and gave her another hug.
"Gods, Reyna." He said, "I never knew people thought that."
Reyna laughed to, "So the friend agreement is mutual?"
He pulled back and shook her hand, "Friends."
