The next morning, Nico and Reyna were in a strangely good mood. They seemed more comfortable around each other; almost as if the air had cleared around the two of them.
Frank whispered this new discovery to Hazel.
"Just be happy for them," She replied, "They've been through a lot. It's good to see them so calm."
The ten - minus Annabeth, who was still resting - sat around the table in the kitchen, eating breakfast.
They were discussing their course of action. They still had to stop by Mount Olympus, for the gods had a task for them.
"What do you think, Percy?" Jason asked, trying to decide if they should go to Olympus straight away or wait a little while more.
Percy slumped in his chair, his fork hovering over his blue pancakes, and a faraway look in his eyes.
"Hey, Perce!" Leo said and nudged Percy softly.
Percy jerked at the sound of his name and his fork clattered out of his hands, "What?"
Jason repeated the question.
Percy looked at him blankly, "Um... I don't care."
There was a moment of silence. Everyone just looked at him. Percy was always the one who had opinions, or made the decisions.
Percy stood, pushing his chair back. "I'm gonna check on Annabeth." He said as he stormed out of the room, slamming the door on the way.
Hazel also stood, probably to see if Percy was alright.
Frank put a hand on her shoulder, "Give him some time. He's just worried about Annabeth."
Hazel slowly sat down again, her eyes remaining on the door.
No one spoke for moment, until Nico cleared his throat.
"Um... Guys?" He began, "I know what happened to Annabeth."
"What?!" Every shouted.
"How long did you know?" Piper asked.
Nico blushed, "Since it first happened."
"Nico!" Leo scolded, "Why didn't you tell us?"
Nico glanced at the door, "I wanted to wait until Percy wasn't around."
"We'll get it out, already!" Frank complained.
Nico told them his suspicions.
"So... You think that Kronos's spirit is inside her?" Calypso questioned.
Nico thought for a moment, "Sort of. Kronos is way too busy to send his spirit to a random demigod, but I think a portion of his power was transferred to her mind, causing the pains and hallucinations."
Calypso nodded and leaned forward, "Is there any way to treat it?"
Nico shook his head, "I'm not sure... Probably not. We'll just have to wait it out."
"Should we tell Percy?" Hazel asked tentatively.
Nico paused, "I think... It would be the best if we did not tell him. For now at least. I don't want to worry him."
Before anyone else could say anything, a crash sounded from the main deck, followed by the ships security sirens.
Everyone bolted to their feet and without hesitation, grabbed their weapons and ran out of the room.
Frank took Hazel's hand, giving it a soft squeeze, then preparing for a fight.
