Buck was agonizing over Lou and Petra was trying to help. Together they went to see Shamus on Boot Hill but had an argument and all split up in a huff.

The true colours of the mute, Enzo showed when he adopted his persona of Il Gatto and proceeded to rob several of the citizens of BG including Mayor Lorne's wedding rings. He also assaulted AJ and Ray, sticking them both with poisoned darts. Ray managed to cut Enzo's leg but he still got away.

Will Barter just happened to see him fleeing back to Tent City with all the loot and trailed him to the train station.

He decided it was his chance to solve his own dilemma so he told the mayor and the Sheriff what he saw. 3Gun and the Mayor took off after the train while Loren, Gyn, Myna and the Doc tended AJ and Ray.

Offers of help came in from all over BG and the surrounding area and Doc U.B. Well tried to organize the best means of treatment, which first meant keeping both men breathing.

Riding hard and fast, the two lawmen caught the train, jumped aboard and eventually trapped Enzo in one of the cars. In a desperate attempt to save himself he grabbed a small boy as a shield but wound up getting bitten by the boy and then shot dead by 3Gun.

In one final act of defiance, he swallowed the Mayor's wedding rings. They rode the train to Carson City and caught the Rickety stage back to BG.

Another drama was taking place when Bruce arrived in town and confronted his brother and was then confronted by Petra and CG and forced to tell his story about Lou and the Judge.

Buck immediately decided he was going after her and left at speed. Just outside town he was held up by three gunmen who thought he was Bruce and was going to kill him. Buck managed to throw his knives at two and just as he thought the third would get him, Bruce showed up and shot the man.

Together they vowed to find Lou and take care of the judge.

On the lighter side of the Busted gulch saga, Brody and Annie had wound up in a tub for two having a bath and playing like children. Frank had taken the big step with Sue and they looked to the future as one - until they found Jack, the runaway from Mario's medicine show and decided to adopt him.
