ChapterThirteen: Parisian
ChapterThirteen: Parisian
One week later. September 2155
It's been a week since the first wave of Earth transplants left Earth. In the shuttle that Cassie was in, everyone had to be standing. There wasn't much room to move around as everyone was squished together. No one was able to change their clothes. Going to the bathroom was even harder!
Cassie had been looking out the window as she was stuck in the position. She would hear insults towards her and a few other Gen-Mods on the shuttle, calling them "Mutants." Still, there was nothing she and her people can do. They could only mindlink each other their personal feelings.
Soon, the intercom on the shuttle announced, "We are entering the Gertz-Heineken System. The planet, Gertz-Heineken 569, is now in our sight. Please hold on as we prepare for landing."
Cassie saw the exoplanet. It looked almost exactly like Earth, but only slightly larger. There were clouds scattered about. She saw several oceans, and several continents. The atmosphere looked much cleaner than the reddish-grayish atmosphere covering Earth. She looked up, and saw two moons orbiting GH569. They looked a bit smaller than the Moon orbiting back at Earth.
Soon the shuttle entered GH569 as it began to make its' landing in Parisian. Everyone did their best to hold on to each other as the shuttle entered the atmosphere. Once the shuttle was in GH569, Cassie saw the view of the area surrounding Parisian. The city was as big as New York City, maybe as big as Paris! She saw forests surrounding the city, and a fence. The fence was much higher than the skyscrapers. There was no opening except for what looked like a hole with some kind of rail going through it. She deduced it was for a commuter train of some sorts.
The shuttle then landed safely on a military base. Just outside the city, but still inside the fence. As soon as the shuttle landed, two more from the now-crumpled Hazan also arrived. Once all three shuttles had stopped moving, everyone was given the green light to leave the shuttles.
As soon as Hannah and her family got out of the shuttle, she looked around to find James. She remembered when Cassie told her that James was on shuttle with them, but he couldn't move away from his family. He had to stay where he was. Hannah had to push through the swarms of people to find James. She saw him just walking out of the shuttle. She squealed, and ran up to him. James saw her at a short distance. He grinned as soon as he saw her running up to him. They both embraced each other warmly and tightly. The two then shared a longing, passionate kiss on the lips.
Suddenly, they heard James' parents clearing their throats. The couple broke away from their kiss, and chuckled sheepishly. Hannah told him, "I can't believe it. We're finally on GH569! Look at how blue the sky is! And the white, puffy clouds!"
James smiled, "I know. And the air is fresh!"
Cassie kept walking around, looking for Breyden and his family. She then heard her name being called through mindlinking. She recognized the voice, which belonged to Breyden. She mindlinked, Where are you?!
She kept looking around until she saw Breyden at a distance, waving his arms around to grab her attention. With that, Cassie ran towards him. After pushing through several people, she met up with her brother and his young family. She picked up her young niece, and hugged her.
Cassie then said, "This place is amazing!"
Breyden smiled, "Want even more amazingness? Brent and his family are also arriving here."
Cassie smiled. She was looking forward to her new life. A life filled with normal weather and fresh air. At a distance, she noticed a group of shuttles that just landed. The names on the shuttles were in German. She suddenly had a weird feeling overcoming her. She couldn't deduce what those feelings were. The only thing she felt in her mind was a brick wall. She would just have to wait things out to find out what is really going on.
