Chapter 18
-Miranda P.O.V.-
As I ran after Martin I tripped over my own feet.
"The Helheim just happened? He seemed too agitated for it to be a simple patrol check." I murmured.
I used my hands to push off the ground, when I once again felt the familiar burning sensation, which brought my hand to my head.
As I awaited for the Episode to occur, I received something new. It was a dark and raspy voice, and it shook my every fiber in my being.
"If you think that you escaped me, then you thought wrong. I WILL find you, and when I do, you'll know. You'll never be safe."
Never in my life was I more afraid in my life than now. It was accompanied with blazing blue-green eyes piercing their gaze in me, a sheathed sword.
And as quickly it had come, it had disappeared.
I breathed heavily, trying to recover from that. I hadn't received an Episode in a while. I had almost forgotten what pains that it caused.
And I realized that there was nobody that I had recognized that I could talk about this with. Man, I never thought that I'd miss Mark's complaints about each of my Episodes.
But I didn't have time for that, I had to go to Martin. I pushed myself onto my feet, and reached down for my sword.
My hand grabbed empty air as I attempted to close it. I looked down and my fears were confirmed: my sword was missing, to which I assumed to be Martin who had taken it when he left.
Sighing angrily, I ran back into the tent I was sleeping in, when somebody grabbed my pant leg.
I jumped and turned around to see Alyssa sitting on the floor, I sighed.
"Hey Alyssa." I sighed.
"Hey. How're you?" she replied.
"I'm good. Just in a bit of a hurry."
"What's the rush for?" she inquired. I paused for a moment, thinking carefully for my next words.
"I was gonna help Martin check something we had found, but he took my sword..." I replied. I grabbed a short sword, and gave it a few test swings.
"Funny, he never needs a sword... Unless..."
"I got to go, bye!"
"Hey wait up!" But I left her in the tent and made a mad dash for the area where I had originally came from.
After what seemed half an hour (which was a few minutes), I was back where I had arrived to where I was before.
Placing my hands on my knees, I heaved in big breaths, allowing the air to fill my lungs. 'Man, how far did Martin go?' I thought as I caught my breath.
I ran over to see two people clashing swords.
Gasping, I ran over to them and shouted at the top of my lungs.
