"That's good.", the man replied and took a cup out of the shelf over the sink. Schizu had managed to place his chair at the table and climbed onto it, after sitting the blū onto the floor.
This was the last breakfast with the owls. He would definitely say thank you to them for everything they did for him in the last two days. Ramuā saved his live to name one of the things.
Liu, Lia and their mother came downstairs into the room now to eat. Schizu really liked the bread with berry marmelade and as soon as he had finished his food, Ramuā asked him:" Have you finished packing yet Schizu?"
"Yes, I have. Right Sammy?", he replied and looked down to the blū, which nodded once again." Alright, then say goodbye to everyone and get your bag. I'll wait at the door for you and Sammy. Come to me when you are ready.",the woman said, before Ama got down from the chair.
He ran upstairs to his temporary bedroom and got the bloodred book into his hoodie pocket, before he put on his jacket. He checked one last time if he had everything and then went back downstairs, where he put on his shoes.
Now the ravenlamb went back into the kitchen to say goodbye to the owl family. He went to Lia, who stood next to her brother and hugged her."Goodbye Lia.", he said."Goodbye Schizu. It was nice to meet you.", she replied and squished him really near to her for a moment. She was crying, just like her brother."No cry! We meet again?", the youngest said."Surely we will.", Liu whispered and joined the hug:"Good luck Schizu. We will miss you, even if it were only two days.""We will miss you too.", Ama answered and now even he had to cry.
As the twins let go of him, Dolui lifted him up and hugged him for a moment, before he said:" Good luck smart ravenlamb. We will meet again, I promise you this. Goodbye little one.""Bye Dolui.", the child whispered while crying.
The man put him down and Schizu got Sammy from the floor."Bye bye. Thanks for help.", he said, before he left the kitchen and went to Ramuā."Are you ready?""Yeah, I think so.", he meant and the woman opened the door.
Schizu thought about the texts in the book while Ramuā locked the door of her house. He thought to himself if he should ask the adult some questions about the words that he did not know.
As they went on the path, he decided to ask."I read in a book a word. What is blood?", he started his row of questions."Why...okay. Blood is a red fluid that flows through our bodies. It is really important for our bodies as it transports oxygen and other important things through our veins.", Ramuā replied and asked herself what book this child had read to know this word.
"What is oxygen? What are veins? What is a right? What is poisoning? What is a keeper?", the child asked further." What book did you read that you have heard about these words?", she answered and stopped to look into Schizu's eyes."Many books. Different ones.", he lied to her.
"Alright. You really want to know? You could be too young to understand.", she pointed out and laid her wing around the child."Yes. I want to." The owl sighed, while she continued to walk to the orphanage. How could a kid in this age ask what rights are? How would she even explain it so he could possibly understand it a little bit?
"Oxygen is in the air. We breath it in everyday. It is necessary for us to live. Veins are part of our body. It is like a pipe through which the blood flows. A keeper is somebody that keeps a secret or tradition without really telling anyone about it.", she explained and again Ama listened closely. Even Sammy seemed to do so." Now to the rather difficult ones...a poisoning is something that happens if you eat something bad that poisons you or if you have too much or too less of something. It is pretty bad for the person that has it and difficult to heal. Could you follow my words?"
The boy had to think for a few seconds, while they walked on. After around five minutes he nodded and looked at her. There was still one word left to be explained. Schizu and Sammy looked at Ramuā, who now explained:" A right is something that sets limits to what people can do. Can you comprehend? A limit is the best or worst a person can feel or do."
Ama had to think once again, just like the blū. He slowly nodded, but a better question came to his mind as they walked. The nearer the three came to their destination, the more questions had been asked by the ravenlamb.
They were about feelings, why creatures feel them. Why Schizu had to leave and many more. Ramuā was reliefed as they had finally arrived at their goal. They stood infront of the Caught Feather Orphanage now.
To stand right here and go into this building in a few seconds, would mean a whole new situation for Schizu. In the frontyard he heard children laugh, saw they run around and talk to each other. He could watch the blū resting underneath a tree.
Now they went inside the huge building which was made out of light bricks, were children had painted on. The paintings were simple and yet very colourful. In the inside the wands were light and colourful. Schizu had a good feeling about this place.
"Good morning Ma'am. How can I help you three?", a woman behind a desk said, standing up now. She came nearer to them, which is why Ama hid behind the owl. The woman was a pigeon and her wings were brown with single white and gray feathers. Her hair was blonde, the eyes orange and she was a little tinier than Ramuā.
"No need to be scared little raven. My name is Tinaya. I am a caretaker of this orphanage and you are?", she said and kneeled down to him." Sorry, but he just lost his mother a few days ago. This are Schizu and his pet Sammy.", the owl answered for him, before she got him out behind her."Like I said Schizu. There is no need for you to be scared. You saw the children outside right? They all were just like you on their first day. Shy, scared and very nervous, yet excited.", Tinaya tried to calm him down.
"What are you?", Schizu asked the caretaker." You are not a raven or an owl.""That's right little one. I am a pigeon. What are you?", she replied."I-I..uhm...I am raven...ravenlamb.", Ama told her and looked at the blū. This was new to him and yet somehow like it had happened before.
"A mix-kinded. A mix-kinded is...", Tinaya wanted to explain, but Schizu interrupted:"... a mix between two different types of creatures. I am a kūki-chikyū mix." The pigeon was definitely impressed."Wow! You know much. How old are you?""I am two!", Schizu answered and looked her into her orange eyes.
"Two years and that curious already? Such curiosity in this age is a sign of cleverness.", the brown-feathered meant." What is cleverness?" The caretaker giggled."I'll explain that to you later alright? At first I have to note some data about you down in my brown, big folder. Can you get it for me from under the table, together with a pencil? Ypu can give me your friend for a moment."
Schizu went to the big wooden table were the woman had sat before they got in. Under the table were some folders and drawers, just like a trash can. He climbed up onto the chair and looked for a pencil. He picked one up and held it into the air.
"Yes and now the folder. Remember, it is brown.", Tinaya responded to this gesture. The ravenlamb got down from the chair and pulled the needed folder out of the shelf that was installed into the table. Now he got back to the woman and gave her those things.
" Good job Schizu. Now I have a few quesrions to you and the woman that brought you here. Before we start, you can take off your jacket. Else you'll get way too warm, don't you agree?" The child nodded, before it opened his rain coats zipper and took it off."Where should I put jacket?", he asked the friendly caretaker."You can just give it to me or lay it onto your backpack. Whatever is more comfortable for you. You can even sit down onto the carpet with your pet together with us to answer the questions, if you want to.", she explained.
