Contestant 1, Eristalle Akerri:
I refused to lay back in the chair and relax, knowing that getting too comfortable wasn't a good idea. I was lucky enough to be the first entry, and I was smart enough to make my application appeal to her highness.
I didn't mind who I was interviewed by, but I wanted to meet her royal highness, in all her dazzling beauty. Chief Selaeyah Valior was amazing, too. Though, her majesty was more of a challenging interviewer.
I fidgeted with my fingers, my dark fringe falling in front of my crystal-like glasses. I moved my hair out of the way, as I awaited my interviewer to arrive.
To me, it felt like days, due to my nervous mood. Though, minutes later, the door opened, revealing a face that could not go unrecognised. Queen Saralee walked over to her seat in front of me, her posh posture leaving me in awe.
"Now, let's get to the point," She gave me a quick smile, "Eristalle Akerri, age 13."
"Yes, your highness?" I almost whimpered, but I forced in some confidence.
I had to highlight my strengths, and bury my weaknesses.
"What subjects do you do well at in school?" She asked, seeming genuinly interested.
"Well, I simply EXCEL at Science. It's my favourite subject, and I also do amazing in Maths, English and Business. I'm top of my class for everything else, too. I always beat my competition when competing for awards at school."
I informed her of my successes in a fast but slow pace, exaggerating and emphasising when I needed to.
"Impressive," The Queen told me, before resuming to her questions, "Why did you enter this contest?"
"I wanted to test my limits, and see if I could gain publicity. In life, you have to have a go at everything, and this is a chance I will not mess up. I would be famous, and build my fortune, power and status if I won. I would use my money for the good of the empire. Oh, and let's face it, who DOESN'T want money!?"
I paused, my lips falling to rest into a smirk, "If that isn't reason enough, I was simply DYING to meet you. Everything about you is extravagent, magnificent, and extra-ordinary, your majesty. I could not waste the opportunity to see you in person, and to show you what I'm worth."
I hoped my sly efforts to flatter her had been successful, so that I had a better chance of winning.
She chuckled, and her head tilted, causing her beautiful, lovely hair to glisten in the sun.
"How sweet," She sighed, softly, "Why do you think you will win, and not the others?"
I laughed, "That's easy! I'm by far smarter, and younger than most of the others. The public would love me. I am a strong contender because I can put up a good fight, physically and verbally. I'm not afraid to show what I'm made of, people should be afraid of me."
"Wow, feisty words from such a young girl," Her highness commented, "Do you feel there is anything negative about yourself?"
"No," I told her bluntly, "I'm almost perfect."
"Well, don't get too big-headed..." The Queen warned.
"Your majesty," I stopped her, "May I please explain, and develop on my answer?"
"Go ahead."
"If you think negatively about yourself, you start to believe in the negative things more than the postives," I explained, carefully, "But, if there's a lot more positives in you, why focus on the negative? Of course, it's always good to improve yourself, but looking at your negatives knock you down. Improving yourself just means adding more postive, until you drown out the negatives. Then, you'll have so much good stuff about you, that people won't see the bad. That way, you all win!"
"What an interesting answer!" She responded, happily, "Time for your fifth and final question. How do you plan on winning this contest?"
I realised that I had leant forward, and had gotten tense from all the nerves. I relaxed into the seat, and answered, "I plan on winning, using my knowledge, personality, looks and strengths. I plan to do things in the most unique way possible, something that'll make me stand put from everyone else. I have a wide range of knowledge, and will use this knowledge to address the situation, suitably.
My personality and looks are a bonus, and I can adapt to anything that needs me to change the way I look and act, easily, and without fuss."
Her highness gave me what I assumed - well, hoped - was a look of approval. She then said, "Well, that will be all. Good luck, Eristalle. I hope you do well."
"I know I will," I replied confidently, shaking her smooth-skinned hands, "Goodbye, your majesty."
"Goodbye, contestant." She replied, walking out of the room, taking her amazing scent and appealing presence with her.

Feedback:
Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This entry was simply lovely! Your writing style is coherent and flows very well, and I just might've added on an extra point or two for the wonderful flattery (but don't tell.) I gave you a perfect score of 10.
Selaeyah Valior: I agree that this was an extremely well written entry, but I'm not quite as enthusiastic as the Queen. Actually, I believe that you were just trying to win her over with excessive praise- a cheap tactic that may work on Sara but certainly won't work on me. I'm giving you a score of 8.
Final score: 10+8= 18.

Contestant 2, Raven Darte
As I entered the interview room I was shocked to see the Ice Queen of Lessaenes inside.
I immediately bowed.
"Rise," she said coldly as if you could touch it. I was quick to respond."I have 5 questions about you. All should be answered quickly and truthfully," she said in a menacing tone."Of course, your Excellency," I said."One, what would you do with the money?" She asked."I would use it to further my training in martial arts and spying I would also add some of the ducats into the money I've been saving for Iceheart surgery when I'm older." I replied."Two, Would you rather be a Flame and live forever," she spat out Flame like it was the worst thing in existence." Or an Iceheart and die immediately?" she asked in a sickly sweet tone.I immediately answered Iceheart."Three, What us your favourite season and why?" She inquired."Autumn because to me it symbolises that nothing lasts forever and you must fight to survive," I answered honestly."Okay, What did you score in aura training if you did aura training?" She questioned."I scored top of my class and number three in my age group 12-16." I said. I don't know when and I don't know how but suddenly Queen Saralee was gone and Ms.Valior was in her place."Saralee had something she had forgotten to do, so I will ask you the rest of the questions," Ms Valior told me."Okay." I replied."Four, what is your favourite colour and why?""Grey, because to me it symbolises innocence and darkness neither should be avoided but both combined are magical," I told her."Hmmmm.Five, If you could be in any clan what clan would you be in?"she said"Easy, I would be in the Warrior Clan because I could become an Ice Guard.""Goodbye,"she said.I just sat their thinking about what just happened. I got up and left once I left all that was running through my mind was I must win.

Feedback:
Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This was a good concept, but extremely short. I don't feel that you took the time to truly develop my character and yours. I'll give you a 6.
Selaeyah Valior: Your questions were very creative, but as Sara said, there were few descriptions and it looked like it was written in a hurry. I'll give you a 6 as well.
Final score: 6+6= 12

Contestant 3, Esrisyn Tokrri:
I squirmed in my seat excitedly. I'm shocked that I even got into this contest, surprised about the potential of being the owner of so many duvats and many other emotions are running through me. A giant mess brewing inside of me and I'm not sure how to let it all out. I'll have to wait for something to do.
Then Chief Valior walks in, her head held high with a confident stride. I've seen her on the Auraview and in the distance, but I never thought I'd see her up close. I try to act cool as she sits down across from me and folds her hand in front of her.
"I'm Selaeyah Calior, but I think you know that already. I will be interviewing you today. So your name is Esrisyn Tokrri right?" She says in a calm voice
"Yup."
"Isn't your father Hellonri of Scientist clan?" She asks
"Yes." I expected a question like this. My father is a fairly rich and successful man, as well as very well known. We weren't "Nobles", since my father made his own money rather then getting it from his parents. So we wouldn't get the Iceheart surgery, unless something major happened.
"So tell me, why did you enter into this contest?"
"Well I always wanted to impress my father. Not because I was weak and needy, but it felt like a great challenge. It seemed like nothing ever impressed him, so I wanted to be the one to do it. When I heard of this competition, I figured it would be a perfect opportunity to impress him, and here I am." I smile, my mind already going into the focused zone.
"What would you do with the Duvats if you won?" I shrug
"I'm going to save it, but knowing me I'll probably spend it all within the week." I give a weak laugh. She smiles a little
"So how do you think you match up with the other contestants?"
"Well I think I have a pretty good chance against them. I'm determined and can work by myself perfectly. I'm strong, fast, and can work well under pressure." I say with pride swelling in my chest.
"You've only told me your strengths, what about your weaknesses?"
I gulp "Uh, well, I'm terrible when I have to work with others and I get aggravated easily. I'm uh, not super smart or anything and sometimes I don't let things go." I say awkwardly
"You do realize that you could die because you entered this contest.
"Yes."
"Does that make you nervous at all?"
"No, I'm confident in myself. Besides after all, life is boring if you don't take a few risks." I say confidently.
"I like your attitude." She smiles and I smile back. She adds "Well that's all, good luck."
"That's it?" I question
"Yes."
She leaves and I leave as well. I'm already feeling more confident and extremely determined. I wish I just could start competing right now. I just need to do something competitive since I'm so pumped up.
I'm gonna do this!

Feedback:
Saralee Relasay Arystenn: You're willing to admit to your faults, that's good. This wasn't the best, but it was fairly well written and to the point. I'll give you an 8.
Selaeyah Valior: Wow, I'm so flattered that you chose me over the glamorous Queen! You were certainly accurate to my personality as well- I don't say anything that doesn't need to be said. I absolutely loved this entry! I'm giving you a 10.
Final score: 10+8= 18.
Contestant 4, Skylas Morrphin:
I was nervous. Bone shakingly nervous. What was I thinking, entering the Million Duvat Endeavor? I would be killed if I was in the bottom two! Then there was the Interview, which I was not looking forward to. Talking to people has never been a strong suit of mine, and here I was, about to go have an Interview with Queen Saralee, the Empress of Lessaenes, or Chief Selaeyah Valior. So many things could go wrong.
I anxiously scuffed the toe of my slipper along the lining of the soft white carpet, watching as the bristles waved back and forth with my subtle movements. Back ramrod straight in the plush chair, I listened carefully for any sign of another person entering through the door behind me. A click resounded through the silence, footsteps coming closer and closer with each breath.
"Hello. You would be Skylas Morrphin, correct?" It was the queen. I made myself nod, and swallowed my fear. I could act through this.
"Yes, your highness. That would be me." I sounded cool, calm and collected. Almost like an Iceheart myself. Though it felt wrong, I said nothing else.
"Glad to meet you," the queen said, sitting on the seat opposite my own. "I'm just going to ask you a few questions about yourself, quick and easy." I studied her face. Just under the cold Iceheart façade, she looked...bored? Oh no. The Ice Queen of Lessaenes was bored, and I was alone in a room with her. That could mean trouble...or I could somehow use it to my advantage.
"Sounds good to me! Let's get this over and done with," I said, watching her expressions the whole time I was talking. Queen Saralee smiled.
"It seems like you're as eager as I am to get away and have some time to yourself, Skylas. As you said, let's get this over with," she looked at an aurascreen in the palm of her hand, tapping a few select words in. "What are your strengths, your weaknesses? An analytical self-assessment, if you will." I let the words hang in the air before us for a moment before responding.
"Strengths and weaknesses...a classic interview question, if I do say so. I couldn't give you a list, knowing that they are ever changing, but I'll attempt to give you an idea." Saralee watches with newfound amusement apparent on her face, but intrigue as well. She wants to know more.
"You could say I have stage fright, but only when I'm being myself. I could act out a character with no slip-ups for years, but put me in a situation where I, as myself, am the centre of attention. I would manage to mess up my words within the first 30 seconds, and most likely trip over my own feet, to continue my misfortune!" I laughed, and after a small pause, Saralee joined me! Calming down a bit, I concluded with, "Insecurity would be a prominent weakness, where I'm concerned."
Saralee nodded thoughtfully, tapping a bit more on her aurascreen. I took another breath and plunged ahead. "Strengths are tricky. So much is situational in this place, but going back to what I said earlier, having the ability to act as something I'm not has proven very useful to me over the years. Eloquence with words is another, and although I know how to defend myself, I prefer not to hurt without good reason. Of course, that could lead to a political discussion, and I would rather not go into that," I smiled. The queen looked at me, a bit quizzical.
"You dislike politics?" She asks, a frown forming on her mouth.
"Not dislike, per se, but I don't find it intriguing as others do. Why waste my time on something I will rarely have to bother with? I keep up with political news, of course, but other than that..." I shrug, "Time is a fleeting, precious thing, for those of us lacking immortality. I intend to use my time as well as I can, and right now, politics isn't exactly my first and foremost concern." I drag my eyes away from Saralee and rest them on the carpet I was previously scuffing. I look up suddenly, nervous of what she will say.
"My apologies, your highness. I was simply being forthright with you," I quickly tell her, unconsciously leaning forwards.
She nodded slowly. "Quick tongue, quicker wit," she says, "You remind me of some aspects of myself. I find myself intrigued by you, Skylas. Next question. What would you plan to do with the million duvats? You had mentioned traveling in your application, a little more in-depth would be nice." She studied me, waiting for my answer.
"If I win, I do plan to travel around the galaxies. I've spent most of my life on Kilaenas, and that setting has grown to be overused in my mind," memories flood my brain for a moment until I regain control and continue speaking, "Seeing the worlds has always been an interest of mine, and with that much money it might become a reality. As you read in the application, I would also be searching for my biological parents." I stiffen slightly at the mention of my parents, before forcing myself to relax.
Saralee notices this, and jots down something on her aurascreen. "What makes you different from the other contestants? How confident are you that you'll win?" I smile slowly as the answer comes to me.
"What makes me different from the rest of the contestants? That's like asking what makes Chief Valior different from the other Icehearts. Background and motive differentiate us all, no matter what anyone says otherwise. I'm going to take a guess and say they will all play up their strengths and ignore their weaknesses. Everyone has them, even you, my queen." Saralee narrows her eyes at this, but doesn't say anything, rather brushing her finger against the aurascreen a few times. "Ignoring your weaknesses doesn't make them go away, they just avoid you until they're called up again, stronger than before and refusing to back down. I can find those chinks in seemingly impenetrable armor, and use them to my advantage." I finish speaking, narrowing my own eyes by a tiny fraction.
"As for how confident I am...I'd say enough, but not so much as to turn into arrogance," I say slowly, "I make it a point to know my place." Saralee's dark purple eyes appraise me as I raise my own turquoise ones to hers.
"That concludes our interview, I believe," she finally says, a sharp arrow of sound through the silence I left in my wake, "You do interest me, Skylas. I hope to see you in the next rounds, to observe how you fare. Goodbye." With that, the Ice Queen of Lessaenes turns and walks out of the room, an empty space where a queen used to reside. As I rise from the seat, I think back on the interview...and realized I said much more than I had planned.

Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This is another entry that I'd place among the best. I am impressed by your arrogance- a trait I can certainly admire when it is in control, which, in your case, it certainly is. I'll give you a 9.
Selaeyah Valior: Your piece was a joy to read! You did a wonderful job of portraying the Queen's magnificence, as well as your own. I agree with Sara, I'll score you at a 9.
Final score: 9+9= 18.

Contestant 5, Adrian Karrski:
Queen Saralee Arystenn: Thanks for agreeing to an interview, Adrian.
Adrian Karrski: It's a chance to meet my idol, how could I refuse?
QSA: Nice to hear that. On your entry, it said that your first word was KILL. Care to explain?
AK: When I was little, part of my mother's baby shower was weapons. I found them in the closet, and started slashing the fake swords across beds, furniture, all those dresses my mother bought. My parents found the ruins of my pink room and began reading me the wonderful stories about the famous Ice Queen slaughtering the Flame members, and I began to chant Kill, kill, kill, kill. Soon it became Kill, kill, kill the Flame. My version of nursery rhymes was:
Kill the Flame,
They are too good for the Ice Queen,
Kill the Flame,
Burn them down!
QSA: I love that! I wish that was made when I was little. Just replace the Flame part with Keilee. Since we are in a private area, I'd like to ask about your parents, whom I know and respect since they gave up their dignity to fake their allegiance to the Flame.
AK: Go ahead. I have nothing to be ashamed of. If anyone is ashamed of their [parents] position and their true color, they have a body bag to open their eyes to.
QSA: That's right. How are Eirei and Laya Karrski doing, fooling Eleanna Myers?
AK: It's so hilarious, watching Eleanna Myers drink up their façade. When they tell me about how they fooled Eleanna Myers with your location, I laughed so hard, it made me want to join them. Of course, they wouldn't let me--they said I had to protect Glaisse from Flame intruders and protect their true identity, even if it made me an outcast.
Just wait for Glaisse to find out who my parents truly are.
QSA: Your loyalty seems to be very strong towards your parents. How is your loyalty towards me? And don't bother to sugarcoat it either.
AK: (snorts) My loyalty towards you? If you deemed so, I would kill Eleanna Myers and myself to get away with murder, if it made you happy.
QSA: Eleanna Myers seems a little far-fetched, doesn't it?
AK: (shrugs) A girl can dream.
QSA: Good point. I dreamed of killing Keilee, and look where it got me--I'm now the feared Ice Queen of Lessanses. Even the Earth bought my fake treaty. How's your cousin faring?
AK: (laughs) Dead? He's doing fine in the grave. After all, that's what someone gets if they mention joining the Flame to an Iceheart.
QSA: That's good to know. What kinds of fighting do you do?
AK: All types. I grew up learning how to fight in so many different situations, I basically have a shortcut to them all. Unless, of course, I'm fighting you.
QSA: I like that spirit and loyalty.
AK: It's not something to like--it's something those petty humans and Rhenans need to fear. They need to stop thinking that they are important because guess what? The Queen owns you. Now, I know I'm not exactly all in the Council or whatever, but I'd fight for you until my last breath. When I was little, I took an oath. Would you like to hear it?
QSA: You have 5 seconds to impress and move one, go.
AK: I, Adrian Karrski, vow to honor the Ice Queen Saralee Arystenn with all my might and life.
No matter the peer pressure or situation, I will go through the most tremendous pain to defend her.
The Earth will soon be ours, and those Rhenans will be gone soon.
Only with the help of everyone, including I, Adrian Karrski.
QSA: I'm impressed. How old were you when you make that vow?
AK: (smiles) Five years old, already carrying poison arrows and a bow around everywhere with me. I didn't ever miss my target.
QSA: Who was your first kill?
AK: A lowly Rhenan who was yelling, "DEATH TO THE QUEEN!"
My parents nudged me forward as I drew my bow back (A/N: WHAT UP USERNAME REFERENCE!) and lodged a poison arrow in his heart.
QSA: What do you hope to do with your life?
AK: I'm hoping to use those million duvats to apply to Eskee University's Death Arts program.
QSA: High hopes, I like that. Well, our time is up.
...............................
Feedback:
Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This was a great entry in which you showcased not only your writing skill but your intelligence and determined mindset. Also, the reference to your username was quite amusing. I'm scoring you at a 7.
Selaeyah Valior: Yeah, go Eskee! I am very pleased that you want to go to EU, as I am a graduate of their Death Arts program myself. I wish you good luck in the application process- if you do get in, you're sure to go far. EU has produced several high officials of the Empire such as myself.
Anyway, about your entry, it is just as good as Sara suggested. I'll give you a 9.
Final score: 7+9+1 (bonus for best questions) = 17.

Contestant 6, Celynne Varr:
Sometimes, I really wished my thoughts had an "off" switch.
If you don't see my point, allow me to elaborate.
When you're seconds away from beginning the most important interview you've done in your entire life, preparing to sit in front of the most important person on several planets, you will want to stop yourself from dreaming up every potential scenario that would result in disaster.
As I shifted my weight uncomfortably in front of the door, wished more than anything I could turn my thoughts off.
Although no one except me and the Queen would be present during this interview, I deemed it appropriate to dress myself up nicely, which only added to my discomfort. I was, uncharacteristically, wearing a dress. Admittedly, it was beautiful. The deep, midnight blue fabric reached just above my knees in the front, and fell down a few inches more in the back. When I walked, the silver star pattern stitched around it appeared to shimmer.
However, it did nothing to quell my nervousness.
I took one last deep breath, before placing my hand on the doorknob and stepping inside the room.
The room was fairly small, and surprisingly, fairly plain. There wasn't much in the room besides a desk, two chairs, and the most noticeable thing in the room....
The Queen herself.
With the setup and the Queen's usual cold stare, I was getting interrogation vibes from this place.
"Name?" She asked, looking up at me briefly.
"C-celynne Varr," I said, mentally cursing myself for stuttering.
"Please, sit down," she told me, gesturing carelessly to the chair in front of her. I nodded stiffly, not saying another word. I slowly sat down in the chair, flattening the folds of my dress as I did so.
"So, Celynne, why did you decide to enter the Million Duvat Endeavor?" Queen Saralee asked.
Don't screw this up, don't screw this up, don't screw this up.
"Well...a million duvats is a lot of money..." I trailed off.
I screwed up. Great.
I spoke again, more confidently this time. "But that's not the only reason I wanted to join. I'm here because everyone thinks I'm useless, and I'm going to prove them wrong. I'll make everyone who underestimated me sorry that they did. Oh, and I'll show everyone that my sister isn't the only powerful one in my family," I finished, becoming steadily more confident as I kept talking.
Queen Saralee didn't reply, but I thought I saw the ghost of a smile on her face. I hoped that I had said something right, and the smile wasn't her dreaming up ways to kill me.
"Good, next question," she said briskly. "What sets you apart from the other contestants?" She inquired.
I had to think a couple seconds. Normally, I'd say "nothing", but that was quite possibly the worst response in my situation.
"Well, since I've been underestimated by everyone my whole life, I guess I can hope my competitors will do the same. And since the prize is a million duvats, people will probably be entering to support their families. Hopefully, they will be nicer and easier to...manipulate."
As I said the last part, I couldn't help but feel a bit bad. Here I was, sick of being taken advantage of, prepared to take advantage of someone else. However, I quickly shook off those thoughts as Queen Saralee nodded, approvingly. Being nice in a competition was a stupid idea. It would get me nowhere, except back home.
"I like the way you think. Now, you seem determined enough, but to what lengths would you go to win this competition?" She asked me.
What? What's that supposed to mean? I wondered. I pondered this for another few seconds, and as I began to realize what the Queen meant, a sinking feeling began in my stomach.
"Well, I'll definitely try my hardest to outperform everyone else. I'll do my best to appear helpless to my competitors, and I won't hesitate to, um, if it comes down to it, betray people. And, well...how much violence will this involve, exactly?" I asked timidly.
Queen Saralee smirked at me, causing my unease to grow even more. "That will be revealed later, if you make it to phase two. For the interview's sake, let's assume that anything is allowed," Saralee replied.
If I make it to phase two.
I thought back to everyone back at home (my sister included), who would die of laughter if I was the first out of the competition. At least they'd die. I thought bitterly.
"I'll sabotage them for sure, and if it came down to it, I'd be willing to kill in order to win," I said, the thought of my sister's taunts giving me the extra determination I needed.
"Well, you'll just have to see how much of that you'll need to put into action later," The Queen winked at me.
Was that a good thing?
"You clearly have the motivation to succeed in this competition, but what other strengths do you have?"
This question, at least, was easy. I didn't have an extraordinary amount of talents, but the few skills I did possess were well developed. "I practice using my Aura every day to develop it more, and I think I'm a decent fighter. Granted, I'm nowhere as near as powerful as an Iceheart, but I've been working on Icicle attack. I'm not the best, but I'm fast, which makes up for it. Besides fighting, I'm a good liar, and can figure out weaknesses pretty quickly."
"A useful skill to have. However, I have some doubts regarding your fighting capabilities. Hard work doesn't always lead to success, contrary to the saying. There are some things you must be born with...or become an Iceheart...to possess. And be warned, you will be competing against other Icehearts," Queen Saralee told me, analyzing me with her fierce, purple eyes.
No wonder she's feared.
I bit my lip, having nothing to say to this. Or rather, the few things I did have to say could not be said to the Queen. "I'm confident I can beat them," I replied.
"We'll just have to see, won't we? Now, final question: Why should you move on to Phase Two?"
Her words provided me with a new cause for worry: The reality that this very well may be the final phase I participate in. I could be eliminated right then, go back home, and live in my sister's shadow my entire life. There was no way I was going to allow that to happen. I sat up straighter in my chair, and spoke with all the confidence I had for the final question.
"I'll admit, I'm not the best fighter. However, sometimes if you're smart enough, you don't need to be. I'm willing to do anything to win this. Whether that's lie, betray, even kill. I'm going to prove to everyone that I'm not useless."
Queen Saralee nodded thoughtfully and was silent for a few moments.
"I admire you determination, Celynne. Manipulation is a very useful skill to have in any situation, and I believe, despite your average fighting skills, you will fare well. Good luck. You may leave, now," she told me.
I nodded slowly, before standing up to leave.
"Oh, and one more thing," she said, making me tense up as I turned back to look at her. The Queen smirked at me once more, clearly finding my tension amusing. "I like your dress," she said. My face flushed. She was the Queen, and probably had thousands of dresses. I knew the only reason she added that was to cause me discomfort. I supposed I shouldn't be surprised. After all, the Queen of Lessaenes wasn't notorious for being nice.
"Oh, yeah, right. Thanks. Iceheart parents, you know. We do have an abundance of sparkly blue clothing." As I left the room, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It hadn't been a flawless interview, but I hadn't totally blew it. You'd better watch out, sister. I'm not going to be known as the weaker sibling for long.

Feedback:
Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This entry is simply perfection. And as the Prototype and someone whose decisions mean life or death, I take the term "perfect" very seriously. Your dialogue- both internal and external- is very smoothly and naturally delivered. Also, you didn't just do the bare minimum, as this is the longest entry. Enough said, I'm giving you a 10.
Selaeyah Valior: I definitely agree with the Queen. This piece was a joy to read! However, I'm going to give you a 9.5, because no one can be truly perfect but Sara.
Final score: 10+9.5= 19.5.
.................................
Contestant 7, Scarlet Fyleret:
"Hello Scarlet" Queen Saralee said "come have a seat". Saralee motioned towards the black metal folding chair opposite her own. Scarlet's feet brushed across the gray tile floor so softly that Saralee almost didn't notice that scarlet had sat down.
"Now, Miss Fyleret are you aware of the special twist I have placed into the rules of this contest." Saralee questioned. Scarlet knew that it didn't matter what her answer was. She still answered "no your majesty" She was attempting to sound unconcerned.
"Oh well I guess you haven't heard that the lowest scoring competitors will be killed" the queen said this like scarlet was stupid little kid, who should have known better.
Scarlet fiddled with the plain silver band on her middle finger spinning it round and round. "Alright" Scarlet eyes were now focused on Saralee she was longer bored of this interview.
"Now scarlet sense this is supposed to be a interview, I must ask is that a dagger in your boot? It seems unusual that a member of the scientist clan would feel the need to casually carry such a weapon."
"Well you see your magiste, I'm not the best scientist. I'm a really a warrior and crimson is a symbol of that. It was my first dagger if you touch it" Scarlet's eyes were focused on crimson the whole time she was talking. Until Saralee interrupted "Scarlet I am not a peasant how dare you even think about threatening me" Saralee hands started to glow light blue, little blue snakes begun fill the otherwise undecorated room. The snakes swarmed at Scarlet, she froze, she knew that if the queen gave the command those deadly beautiful snakes would tear her to shreds. So she noded "Understood your magiste" s
"Ahhh" Saralee sighed with relief. "Much better, let's get back to this interview'' Saralee's voice sounded like the stars all calm and collected. Her face showed no evidence of her recent outburst. Scarlet looked a bit different from Saralee she looked like a robot her small lips were set in a hard line while her back was pinstright.
"If you had the opportunity to kill someone would you?"
"Well" A sly grin began to creep onto scarlets face "That depends on who im killing" Scarlet sounded uncertain. "Well I guess I would end someone if my queen ordered me to, if I was told to dispatch a flame or a spy I would" scarlets robotness dissolved when she said that. "Oh there are many things that could be put in a flames food" "acids, chemicals, poisons" the smirk on her face got bigger and bigger the more she talked.
"I see you know many" Saralee paused " Clever ways to dispatch a pest." "but do you know how to kill a person with that knife of yours" "What did you call it crimson." " hehe scarlet and crimson"
Saralee's evil laugh disturbed scarlet. Now she was seriously wondering what on glassie she had gotten herself into.
"Now" The queen continued "I'm growing a bit bored of this interview, I am in need for some entertainment." Upon saying this Saralee got out of her plain black chair and sashayed over to the small automatic door. She stepped outside the interview room. However Scarlet could still hear snippets of her conversation.
"Follow me guard" and " yes your majesty" Was all scarlet herd. From these small pockets of conversation that scarlet herd she figured out what her queen was going to ask her to do.
" Oh no" "Oh she won't make me go that" Scarlet thought "Well she might" "but i was told this was a interview"
"Errnt" the old mechanical door opened. Saralee walked in with an huge ice guard in tow. "Wow he is gargantuan" Scarlet thought. As she was sizing up the guard when sheer ice blue dome appeared around scarlet and the gard.
"Well it too bad there isnt a larger audience" Saralee Announced "Well Scarlet you're a smart young woman, you know what to do"
"Crap" Scarlet said to herself. Then she wipped her dagger out of her boot and lunged at the ice gard 3 times her size.
Scarlet whirled around her dagger ripping through pale skin leaving a trail of red on the guard's arm.
"Aggg" the guard cried out while Saralee smiled. The guard made a slow clumsy move towards scarlet she dodged the first kick before crashing to the ground from the second.
The ice gard loomed above scarlet ready to deliver the killing blow his fist poised right above her throat. But he hesitated, he had orders not to kill the girl. Within a second a long jet black strand found it way around the guards ankles scarlet commanded her aura however it was not with ease the task was not easy. It took a lot of effort for her to get her aura to pull the guard to the floor. He landed with a thud. At this point he knew he what the mysterious girl was going to do and kept quite. Scarlet took this opportunity to slowly drag crimson across his throat. Blood came began to form bubbles on his pale skin. He coughed once blood sprayed all over scarlett's black combat boots staining the light gray laces a deep red. The iceey aura shield recided Saralee clapped while scarlet concealed her anger and sat back down in her chair. Refusing to look at the guard she murdered for the queen's pleasure.
"Well" Starlle exclaimed "you put on a fabulous show".
"Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it" Scarlet replied she hoped her voice was not laced with sarcasm.
" Now that was fun and all but now I have to ask the standard, boring questions." Saralee said slowly. It was like she was joking. "What would you do with the million duvats?" "Why did you entered this endeavor?" "lastly, what is your goal in life?"
"Um..I I I don don't ka know what I would use the du duvats for I Just want them" scarlet stuttered. She was still shocked that she killed the guard. "I entered this en endeavor to prove I can be smart and strong" scarlet stopped stuttering because she realised that strong people do not stutter when they are scared of themselves. " My main goal in life is to prove I am a good enough warrior to join the warrior clan" Scarlet's voice was confident now. She knew what she wanted but she was still frightened at what she was capable of. She killed an innocent person with no hesitation.
Saralee scribbled all scarlets answers on a notepad that she must have had under her seat this whole time. "Miss fyleret that is all I needed you to answer you may go now"
Scarlet rose from her chair and silently without a sound from her mouth or her feet exited the room. She was outraged that the queen made her kill the guard. However most of that anger was directed inward. She was so angry that in the moment she had had fun killing that man watching his eyes bulge just to roll back into his head as she dragged her dagger across his throat. When scarlet entered that room she had been over confident, clever , badass scarlet. Scarlet did not exit the room the same. Terrified of herself.

Saralee Relasay Arystenn: Your ending was simply perfect. It was what truly stood out in this piece. I'll also say that you did the best job conveying complex emotions. However, you did have several spelling and grammar errors. I'll give you a 7.
Selaeyah Valior: This was one of my favorite entries! You did such a great job of describing your feelings after killing the Ice Guard. I'll score you at a 9.

Queen Saralee: Sooo, you defected to the Flame. Be honest, what is the flame like? Do they actually want to overthrow me?
Genna: Well, the Flame is.... A very nice group of people, and they DONT force people to turn into man hunting monsters.
Queen Saralee: *gasps* I am offended! I am not a man hunting monster.... I have people who do that for me!
Genna: Yeah, this is why the Flame exists, cause you go around killing innocents!
Queen Saralee: On that.. Cheery note next question. What is your favorite color?
Genna: *raises one eyebrow* FAVORITE COLOR??? Well if I had to choose it would probably be.. Blue. I was always amazed by how blue can be so beautiful in different lights.
Queen Saralee: Wow! Interesting choice seeing as you left a race of people that are BLUE! *clears throat* On to the next question Genna, if you had to, would you kill the Queen?
Genna: Have I ever told you how beautiful you look in this dull lighted room? You know, you are, GORGEOUS, in any lighting!
Queen Saralee: Why thank you! Wait... Are you avoiding the question?
Genna: *purses lips* maybeeeee..
Queen Saralee: Well???
Genna: Okay, listen I can't kill. I went on a mission once, and had to kill someone. I just... I just couldn't. I let them go, and never told anyone! So killing you? Nah, I could never do that. It would tear my soul apart.
Queen Saralee: Wow! It's great to know someone in the Flame would never kill me!! I almost forgot this was an interroga... I mean interview. *smiles*
Genna: WAIT.... THIS IS AN INTERROGATION???
Queen Saralee: No, she said sarcastically. Why would I be interviewing a Flame agent, if I didn't want info on there secrets?
Genna: Uh, can I go now, I think I hear someone calling my name.. I gotta go.
Queen Saralee: No, no, sit down, and join me for a cup of tea.
Genna: No, I really should go.
Queen Saralee: SIT!! I mean, please accompany me for some tea!
Genna: Well I guess I could stay.
Queen Saralee: Lovely! *pulls out tea and two cups*
Genna: Thank you very much! *sips tea*
Queen Saralee: So what do you think of the Flame know?
Genna: The Flame is horrible.
Queen Saralee: What do you think of me now?
Genna: I will do anything in my power to protect you, and destroy the Flame.
Queen Saralee: Excellent. *evily smiles*

Saralee Relasay Arystenn: This was a short but witty piece. I love your portrayal of me! I'm guessing I put halfie juice or diluted Code serum in your tea. That's definitely something I'd do- lure a Flame into my competition and cheat her into getting back on my side! Anyway, since there were a few grammatical errors and this was a little under the minimum word count, I'm giving you a score of 7.
Selaeyah Valior: Like Sara said, there were a some grammatical mistakes. However, the overall quality of the piece was not bad, I guess. I'll put you at a score of 6.

Contestant 11, Sapphire Syrenia:
Sapphire tapped her nails on the glass table, anxious for the interview with Queen Saralee. She wasn't sure if the queen was really going to show up, or if it was all an elaborate prank.
Suddenly, the door opened and Queen Saralee stepped in. She held up her Aurascreen.
"So, Sapphire Syrenia, tell me more about your sister." Queen Saralee said, taking a seat across from Sapphire. The elegant queen's bejeweled, blue, empire waist dress swished against the chair.
Sapphire could hardly believe that she was sitting across from the queen of Lessaenes herself! Sapphire gave, what she hoped was a confident smile. "My sister, Calypso is fifteen years old, she's working to become a doctor for the Iceheart Department and is like — your biggest fan, ever. Calypso wants to someday oversee the Iceheart serum process." Sapphire brushed a strand of black hair out of her face.
Queen Saralee nodded, typing something on her Aurascreen. "What do you do in your free time?"
Sapphire shrugged, "Read or figure out more ways to use an aura. Other than that.... Not much, I train using human weapons sometimes. After all, you never know when something might happen. Plus, I want to know how to use every weapon in existence."
Queen Saralee grinned at Sapphire's words. "Do you have any close friends in your clan or any other clan? If so, what are their names?"
"My best friend, Diana — she's in the Scientist Clan. Diana pretty much likes the same things as me. She's slightly less violent and she loves drawing. Diana and I both work in the Iceheart department."
Queen Saralee typed another thing and looked up, raising a perfectly arched eyebrow. "Diana Gemani, right?"
"Yes,"
Queen Saralee tapped her nails on the table, the blue pattern changing with every tap. "Okay, so you both work at the Iceheart Department, researching Auras. Have you found anything useful yet?"
"We've been trying to see if the strength of an Aura depends on anything else. Age, gender, and other variables are counted in as well. We think females typically have more powerful Auras, than males but males have more stamina, when using excessive amounts of their Aura."
Queen Saralee let out a over enunciated yawn, a hidden warning for Sapphire to make it less boring.
Sapphire's aquamarine eyes widened, "Would you like me to change the subject, your majesty?"
"Yes, what kind of books do you like to read?" Queen Saralee's eyes brightened.
"I like all books, but fiction is my favorite. Human books have their allure as well, it's surprising how their minds can think of such entertainment."
Queen Saralee smiled, and Sapphire let out a silent sigh of relief.
"Human minds work in strange ways. Speaking of humans, what would you do to get rid of the remaining species?"
"I would send an Iceheart after them and have them pretend to be a human. Then, they'll make them codes and have them kill each other. Or I would have them participate in something like the warmatches." Sapphire smirked, "But, there won't be any mercy tickets or winners for them."
"That's actually not a bad idea," Queen Saralee said, looking grudgingly impressed. "And how would you find those humans?"
"I would try to zone in on Princess Viviana, the next time you send a CT to her. She's bound to be with those humans she's so attached to." Sapphire fiddled with the silver sash on her blue jacket.
"What's your favorite color or colors?"
Sapphire blinked, surprised at the random question. "Silver, blue, and black."
"Do you have any pets?" Queen Saralee asked.
"No, Calypso had an annoying pet mouse though. It died because of a mysterious and tragic accident." Sapphire smirked, knowing that Queen Saralee — being the intelligent person she was, would know what Sapphire meant by 'accident.'
"Very well, you may go." Queen Saralee stood up and Sapphire followed the gesture. She walked out the door, while Queen Saralee stayed inside, still tapping on her Aurascreen.

Selaeyah Valior: A mouse? Come on, have you never killed anything bigger? You seem...very average. However, your writing was pretty good, so I'll give you an 8 as well.

Contestant 13, Silas Umperion:

Contestant 14, Eloni Sempta:
It was during times like these that Eloni Sempta wished she had never run away from
home. She shivered and pulled her worn coat tighter around her bony frame. She was
underweight– but that was expected of a homeless child. Eloni sighed. Oh, the joys of
homelessness.
She smoothed out her tight satin dress that she had smuggled out with her when she had
left home. She really didn't think that it was necessary to dress up, for the Queen probably
thought that she was a stupid peasant anyways. But regardless of what the Queen thought of her,
she would do her best to impress Her Majesty.
She was snapped back into reality when the door to the stark white room slammed open.
A Lessaenite stepped in, her Aura flaring and her head held high, confidently. I wish I was that
confident.
Queen Saralee sat down in front of her, looking at her expectantly, her dark eyes staring
at her, before looking at her nails. "You're Eloni Sempta, right?"
Eloni took a deep breath, giving herself a nod of reassurance before replying. "Yes, I am,
Your Majesty." Her voice shook. Come on, Eloni. Do this for Senna. Confidence is key.
The Lessaenite ruler raised an eyebrow, and Eloni hoped that wasn't a sign of
disapproval. "So, why did you decide to join the Million Duvat Endeavor? Your file says that
you came from the Sempta household, and they just happen to be multi-millionaires."
"I want to prove myself to my family," she lied hastily. "They thought that I wouldn't be
good enough or strong enough of powerful enough or–" She took a breath. Take this easy. Don't
ramble. "They didn't believe that I could do anything. And I'm here to prove them wrong."
"Any why have you been missing, then? It says right here on your file: 'reported missing
on the 63 rd of Myrken.' Where have you really been? The Flame?"
Eloni didn't know what to say. Lessaenites didn't take kindly to charity. There was
Raliyel Novisty, but she was a Rhenan, not a Lessaenite. And she couldn't use the Flame as an
excuse either. She'd be killed on the spot by the murderous queen herself. Besides, she didn't
support them. Just tell her the truth. She's going to kill you anyways.
"I ran away," she admitted, her head hung low. "I ran away and joined a group of
homeless girls, who, by the way, your guards all killed."
And to her sick horror, the Queen smiled. "Well, at least you didn't lie."
"What?" Eloni mumbled.
"I said, that at least you didn't lie," She repeated, rolling her eyes. "What, are you deaf or
something?" Eloni stayed silent. "So now you're mute now?"
"No, I'm not," she replied quietly. She knew all along. "Can we move on to the next
question now?"
"Yes," her eyes glinted mischieviously. "Why did you run away?" Eloni groaned. This
woman sure knows how to push my buttons.
"Because," She replied.
"You ran away because of nothing?" The Queen chuckled. "That's really pathetic."
Eloni gritted her teeth. "I ran away because my parents were horrible parents," She
hissed. "And my sisters constantly fought over the prettiest rings and the hottest boys. All I
wanted was a family, and I didn't find one in them." She paused, glaring at the imposing figure
in front of her. "So I got myself one."
The Queen smiled. "You're a bright young lady, Eloni. You'll go far."
Eloni had enough of this stupid interrogation that was almost designed to make her
frustrated and crack under the pressure. "Thank you, Your Majesty," she muttered. She whirled
around on her heel, heading towards the door.
Senna, you'd better not die on me, now.

Contestant 16, Maya Mills:
Queen Saralee walked into a dimly lit room and took a seat at a small silver table. She pulled out her Aurascreen and prepared her notes.
Seconds later, a young girl, about the age of twelve walked into the room. She had lightbrown hair and icy blue eyes, something Queen Saralee already liked.
She curtsied low before the great Queen, and nervously stood back up. When she had bowed, Saralee had seen two small packages behind the girls hands.
QS-What is your name, age, race, and who your parents are.
The girl tried to put on a brave face, but failed. As she spoke, her slowly became more confident, and she felt more sure of herself.
MM: My name is Maya Mills, I am 12, I am a Lessaenite, and my parents are dead.
QS-How did they die?
Suddenly, Maya got a fierce gleam in her eyes which used to be so calm.
MM:The Flame. I was only five but they murdered my parents right in front of me. They looked all over for me and my sister, but they couldn't find us. Soon, they gave up. All my parents had done was try to stop one of their plans... and they were successful at the price of their death.
QS-I'm sorry for parents, but may I asked what happened to your sister?
MM:After they burned down my house me and my sister ran until we came to a quiet neighborhood. My sister did not survive the coldest months.
QS-I'm sorry for her also. What is in the packages that you are holding behind your back?
MM:In one is the only book that I own, the only one I could save. In the other is a necklace that was my mothers.
Maya pulled out of the package a beautiful diamond necklace, that Queen Saralee estimated to be worth at least 300 Duvats.
MM: I can't sell it, it means so much to me, but I want you to have it.
The young girl walked up to the table and put the necklace and box on the table.
Queen Saralee wondered how wisely the girl would use the money, especially since she sell the necklace.
QS-What makes you think that I should choose you to win in this competition?
MM:Though I may seem quiet, I have learned that nothing comes just by being polite. I have learned ambition and sadly, how to steal, but how else was I going to survive? With a million Duvats, I may have enough to become a true iceheart and learn from you how to survive this world, and rule others.
QS-What will the Duvats do for your future? Why do you need it?
MM:With a million Duvats, I could become an iceheart, get an education, and finally belong. I will crush anyone in my way to get that, even if it means betraying myself in others. I need it to survive and no one can stop me.
Her Highness was surprised at Maya's new confidence and ambition, and was wondering what else the your girl was hiding.
QS-Anything else I should know?
The Queen said as she raised an eyebrow.
MM:Oh yeah... I forgot to tell you... I am missing an Aura.
Maya calmly walked out of the room leaving Queen Saralee stunned.
How can she be missing an Aura? The Queen thought. Everyone has an Aura. How is she still alive? Why didn't I kill her right then? There's just something about her... Unless...maybe she isn't what she thinks she is...
The beautiful queen walked out of the room wearing the necklace Maya had given her... It just felt right to wear it.

Contestant 17, Blayze Lesatia:
Blazye was enveloped by determination and a slight giddiness as she patiently waited. She sat in a grand, cream colored room. Four chairs were perfectly aligned against each wall, amounting to twenty in to total.
To Blayze, the cold, plastic chair beneath her felt rather unpleasant. She was a rich Lessaenite, for crying out loud! Alas, nerves and excitement tumbled into one, possible scenarios replacing her frustrated thoughts regarding the bland room and unmentionable furniture.
Blayze felt rather confident. Her trick? It was all in her head. She believed if she wore a brave facade, she'd slowly morph into the fearless warrior she wished to become. The girl, though merely fifteen, wished to become an Ice Guard like her father had been. That was her only ambition, her drive for the last seven years.
Back straight as a rod, she stared ahead. Her luscious honey-colored curls reached just below her breasts, cobalt eyes complimented by light mascara. The young Lessaenite was stunning, and she brandished that fact right on her sleeve. Combined with her looks and wealth, she was nearly invisible. Nearly.
"Lesatia, Blayze!" A woman's soft voice floated through the overhead speaker.
Blayze cringed at the mention of her name, instantly reminded of the vile Flames. They caused her father's death, yet her mom practically only breathed for the rebellion, thus her name. She stood, poised and composed on the exterior, then sauntered towards the single white door straight across from her. Exactly two chairs rested on either side, only one remaining occupied. Blayze recognized the occupant as the pesky eleven year old boy whose mother worked for the Flame. She shot him a withering look, causing him to practically flatten in his seat.
The door automatically swished open, allowing Blayze access to a pristine white hallway. Only one door resided in it, and it was at the far end. After emitting a labored breath, the girl picked up her pace. The first door silently sealed shut behind her.
Nerves fluttered in her stomach while her heart pounded. Was this really her fresh start? Was she seriously granted this chance? She wondered if her father would have been proud of her following in his footsteps. She prayed to Lumys he would be, and that all would go well.
Blayze suddenly halted in front of the door. As it swung open, she smoothed down her short blue dress. It was showtime.
Immediately, she headed towards a plush eggshell couch directly across from the door. Her heels clacked against the marble, each contact sending a shiver down her spine. Once she sat, she squeezed her eyes shut, too nervous to open them. She swiftly reprimanded herself. What was she to fear? This was supposed to be her redemption, not a pity party! So, she allowed her eyes to fly open, gasping at the sight before her.
On a replica couch parallel from her sat Queen Saralee herself! Blayze could barely believe her eyes. She placed a perfectly manicured hand in front of her plump lips, a smile creeping onto her porcelain face. Her idol was sitting across from her in all of her royal Ice Heart glory!
"Blayze Lesatia?" The Queen inquired, her lips tilted upwards in a smirk. An AuraScreen floated in front of her.
Blayze slowly nodded, still consumed by pure awe. Then, she realized she could never have the queen address her by such a title! Blayze would not do! Plus, no one called her that except her blasted mother. "With all respect, Your Highness," Blayze started, voice slightly trembling, "I prefer Blade."
Saralee nodded, slightly frowning before breaking out into a grin. "Well, Blade, I believe I have my first question."
After attempting to gulp down her jagged nerves, Blayze, or rather Blade, nodded. "Why the name change?" Blade's lips turned up ever so slightly. "Blayze reminds me of," she shuddered, "The Flame. I hate that. Blade reminds me of my father, of the Ice Guards risking their lives to defeat them and anyone who goes against our amazing queen. He died a hero, and I want to as well." Not a coward like her mother.
Saralee's grin stretched. "Well, I certainly like you already." Blade flushed.
"W-wow, I'm so honored."
"Isn't everyone? Now, first official question: Why do you want the million duvats?" The young Lessaenite straightened her posture more, if that was even possible. A rush of energy surged through her as she all but rambled her response.
"Because, I'm sick of relying on my, ugh, mother," she practically spat. "She wishes to hold me from my destiny! With this money, I can start over!" Saralee flipped her glossy hair over her shoulder, violet eyes seeming to stare into the younger girl's soul.
"Okay, Blade, why don't you like your mother?" She sounded genuinely curious, yet had an edge to her voice that almost sounded like she suspected something. Maybe it was just Blade's paranoia.
Her lips pressed into a thin line. She promised her dad she wouldn't rat out her mother. He was the only reason her scandalous mother and sister weren't deceased. "She doesn't believe a girl like me has what it takes to become an Ice Guard." That, to an extent, was the truth. Nervous chilling her to the core, she glanced around the plain room. It was just her, the queen, two identical couches, and the AuraScreen.
The queen cocked her head to the side. "Well, Blade, you have the ambition. Question is, do you have the skills, the coldness of heart?"Blade nodded. "I believe I do, Your Highness." Saralee pursed her lips, eyes seeming to pierce through Blade like a, well, blade. "Definitely a change from other contestants. If you were, to say, receive these million duvats, how exactly would that help you become an Ice Guard?"
Blade's heart felt heavy, as if a thousand knifes were attempting to stab it down to her toes. She didn't think the queen really believed in her. No one did. "I-I'd start by moving away from my mother." Great, she stuttered in front of the queen of all people! "I'd buy my own food and such. Then, I'd hopefully buy new weapons and train."Saralee was silent before she nodded, tapping away at her AuraScreen.
"Ahh, so you're a rich Lessaenite." The corners of her lips turned up. "Almost reminds me of myself. No one really believed I would be queen, but here I am!" She laughed, or rather, cackled.Blade's eyes widened. "How stupid were they?"Saralee shrugged. "Very. Now, thank you for your time, Blade."
The young girl nodded, hurriedly scurrying out of the queen's presence. Once she exited the door, she placed her hands on her bony knees and gasped for air, her composed mien melting as if it were ice. If this didn't work out, Blade had no idea what she'd do.
