Bonus #4
"We should go for a walk." I said randomly as Nathan and I were sitting in the kitchen. Devan was upstairs napping, and Blaze laying down with his head on his paws, contemplating life I guess.
"Huh?" Nathan asked, breaking his gaze away from his laptop.
"I'm saying that we should go for a walk. We haven't left the house in a while and could all use some fresh air. And Blaze could use some exercise. Right boy?" I spoke to Blaze, and he barked as if he could understand me.
"Alright. Let's just wait for Dev to wake up then." He said and closed his laptop. "I could use a break from this report anyways." He groaned as he stretched, an occasional pop could be heard.
"Remind me to give you a massage later." I said, thinking of how sore his muscles probably are.
"Oh that would be amazing." He grinned up at me, and then a cry could be heard from upstairs. "And there is Devan. I'll go get him, you can get his bag ready." Nathan said, giving me a light peck and then jogging upstairs.
I took the bag we usually used for all the baby stuff whenever we went in walks, and filled it with wipes, baby food, and some toys. It already ha diapers in it from the last walk. I also put a few snacks go Nathan and I in there, as well as Blaze's bag of treats since Nathan likes to do tricks with him. Seeing hat I should take some spare clothes and maybe a small blanket I went upstairs and into Devan's room, where Nathan was blowing raspberries at him, making him giggle and squeal in glee. It was adorable.
Seeing as he didn't hear me, I took my phone out and started filming him. He is a great father.
I posted the video in Instagram, instantly getting a bunch of likes and comments. Because my phone started beeping, it startled Nathan and he stopped doing his thing.
"Oh hey babe. We were just about to come down. Just got s little distracted didn't we Devan?" At the mention of his name, Devan giggled.
I smiled at the two and went to get a spare change if clothes. I then went downstairs to see Nathan throwing Devan up in the air and catching him, giving him a kiss, and throwing him up again.
Nathan and Devan looked a lot alike. From the eye color, to the floppy brown hair.
"Come on you two goofs, lets go. You too Blaze, come on." I said and Blaze stood up with the speed of light, tail waggling back and forth. He ran to his leash, and then sat down with it in his mouth. I attached it to his black collar, grabbed the bag and walked outside. Nathan put Devan into his stroller and without asking me took Blaze's leash from my hand and the bag from my shoulder, giving me a breathtaking smile. We left the house and I locked the door behind us. The park was only about a fifteen minute walk from the house so we didn't have to use the car. Devan looked at everything in wonder like he usually did. He might be seven months but he's still getting used to stuff.
We came to the park which was a very nice place. It had a playground for the kids of different ages, and a special area where people could bring their dogs.
I sat on a bench facing the dog playground, taking Devan out of his stroller and putting him on my lap.
Nathan has oaken the dog treats and brought Blaze into the dog playground to do a few tricks. He started with simple things suck a sit, jump, high five, roll over and play dead. Only he never did say play dead. He always said Avada Kedavra. I immediately saw Harry Potter fans perk up when he said that.
He then proceeded to get him to use the playground provided obstacles such as walking around sticks, crawling in a tunnel, and walking on a ledge.
While he was doing one of his tricks with Blaze which involved Blaze jumping over the little fence stick things that were there, Devan punted to Nathan with the most serious expression ever and said.
"Dada!" Followed by a joy filled giggle. I smiled at that, and was over the moon exited since that was Devan's first word. A little early I think, but I'm still very happy. Just as I was about to come closer to the dog park to share the great news with my lovely husband, a basketball came flying at us. I immediately shifted to shield Devan, and the basketball hit my rib age with great force, sending me face first into the ground. Somewhere along the way I was able to yet again twist to fall on my back, clutching Devan to me all along, who started crying once we hit the ground.
"Hey miss? Can you pass us the ball?" A male voice said and I looked up to see some teenage boys around the age of sixteen to eighteen standing by the basketball court, well not really standing they were walking over to me. It they were coming from that direction.
"Are you kidding me? You nearly hit my son with a basketball, and ended up hitting me. Which hurt by the way and sent me flying off this bench, almost landing on my son!" I said angrily. How dare they.
"Sorry lady, it was an accident." The older looking one shrugged, arms crossed over his chest. The others nodded.
"Well you could at least apologize for it." I scoffed, looking over Devan for any injuries. Luckily he was perfectly fine and just looked a little spooked, and tears still streaming down his face, his bottom lip quivering. "You scared my son too."
"Listen we didn't know the ball was going to hit you, so if you could just pass it to us because it has coincidentally landed in your stroller." One of them said rather rudely, looking very irritated, his hands were balled into fists.
Growling some from behind me, and than the all familiar voice of my husband spoke.
"How dare you talk to my wife like that?" He asked. I turned around to look at him. His arms were crossed over his chest, muscles bulging. His face was serious and he just looked very intimidating in general.
"I speak to her however I want. She's just a girl anyways." The oldest scoffed.
"Yeah try a SWAT team member. You never know when this girl can come and save your ass." I snapped. Nathan stepped in front of me, standing in front of the tallest, oldest guy. Nathan had a few good inches on him, is say at least three to four.
"Never, and I mean NEVER speak to my wife or any girl for that matter, like that again. You're just a low life, disrespectful, dick who is too self absorbed to even say sorry for almost hitting a little kid, and hurting a woman. I feel so sorry for your future girlfriend or wife, if you can even get one. And this goes for all of you." He said calmly, but this is what made it sound extremely scary.
"Sir, can we just have our pall back please?" The youngest looking boy said.
"Oh you want your wall back? Okay." Nathan said with a shrug.
He picket the ball up and spun it a few times, before throwing it over to Blaze who caught it and proceeded to rip it. He than handed it back to Nathan. The boys' mouths hung open in shock.
"There you go." Nathan said. "This is how your own balls will look like if I ever catch you disrespecting a woman or anybody, again." He said and they then scrambled to leave.
"Are you okay?" He asked, turning to face me. He face was concerned and I could still see some anger in it.
"Yeah I'm alright." I smiled at him. I looked down at Devan who was now grinning up at Nathan and then I remembered. "Oh Nathan! I was going to tell you before this whole thing happens!" I said.
"Tell me what?" He asked, one eyebrow going up in confusion.
"Nathan said his first--"
"Dada!"
"...word" I finished.
Nathan's face was then literally split in half with a gigantic grin, as he took Devan from me and lifted him up to kiss his cheek.
"Now he's totally a daddy's boy. Right Dev?" He asked, and guess what his response was. To blow a raspberry and squeal dada. Nathan chuckled, than gave me a soft peck on the lips, giving me breathtaking grin. I grinned back at him, and then looked to the side of me, seeing the group of teenagers watching us, and talking to a man that looked like he could be their father. He turned to look at us too, and then slapped the boy upside the head in a scolding manner. Tattletales.
"How about we go get some ice cream?" Nathan said, breaking me out of my trance.
"That sounds like an amazing idea."
"Dada!" Devan was quick to add.
