51...IF He Finds Out About This Baby

~Jada's POV~
We get home and walk into the house.

"So, Mom. What's wrong? Why are you crying so much?" Rylee asks.

"Well, girls, I have some news." I sigh and they frown, obviously confused.

"Okay." They both say, sitting on the couch.

"Okay. Um, I-I'm pregnant." I say and their eyes grow wide.

"What?! By who?!" Jedell asks.

"That's the thing. I'm just over 3 months pregnant so that means..." I trail off.

"It's Dad?" Rylee asks calmly.

"Yeah. That's why I was crying so much." I sigh.

"Well, why would you cry if it's Dad's baby and not some random dude's kid?" Jedell frowns.

"Because I was hoping that the only times I'd see your dad is in the media and when I drop you off at Neverland. So, if he finds out about this baby, he'll be in my life more often. I don't want that. I wanna move on from him." I say.

"Hold on. You said IF he finds out about this baby. Are you planning on keeping this baby a secret from him?" Rylee asks and I look down at my fingers.

"No! Mom! You can NOT keep this a secret from him! He WILL find out eventually and he WILL be crushed! You need to tell him!" Jedell half yells.

"You will NOT tell me what to do! I am your mother! And you will not be telling your father about this child!" I shout on the verge of tears again.

"Okay. Fine. But don't say we didn't warn ya." Jedell sighs.

"Let's not fight about this anymore." I sigh.

"Okay. Um, do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?" Rylee asks.

"No. I'm gonna wait until the baby is born to find that out." I say and they nod.

"Are you girls excited about having a younger sibling?" Haley asks and she scares the hell outta me.

I forgot she was in the room, she was so quiet!

"Yes, I guess. It would be kinda cool." Jedell shrugs.

"Hey, Mom? Can I invite Tommy over here sometime for you to meet him?" Rylee asks excitedly.

"Sure." I laugh and she smiles.

"Yay! I think you'll love him!" She sighs happily.

"Well he better be treating my little girl nicely." I say and she rolls her eyes.

"Mooooom" she giggles.

"I'm serious. He better not be an asshole!" I say and she giggles.

"Trust me, he's not. He's actually really sweet." She smiles and I smile back.

"Well then I'm happy for you." I say and pull her in for a hug.

-A couple days later-
"Mom! We're home!" Rylee calls as she comes in the door.

"Hey honey. How was sc-oh hello. You must be Tommy." I smile at the boy who's holding hands with Rylee.

"Yes, I am." He smiles shyly.

"I'm Jada, Rylee's mom." I put my hand out and he shakes it.

"It's nice to meet you." He says.

He looks really familiar.

"So, Tommy. You look really familiar. Who are your parents?" I ask as we all walk into the living room and Jedell just goes up to her room.

"My parents? They're Charlie and Nicki James." He says and my eyes widen.

"Ch-Charlie and Nicki James, did you say?" I ask.

"Yeah. Why?" He asks.

"They were two of my best friends in high school and I saw you when you were just a baby. Part of your middle name was named after Rylee's father." I say and Rylee's eyes widen.

"Oh that's cool." Tommy laughs.

"But, Mom. I thought Charlie was related to Grandpa." Rylee frowns.

"We all looked into that a few years ago and we found out that it's not true. So. How long have you two been dating?" I ask.

"About 6 months." Rylee smiles.

"Ohh. Cool. Have you kissed yet?" I smirk and they shake their heads while blushing.

"No. Not yet." Tommy says and I nod.

"Well, Tommy. I trust you enough to take good care of my little princess. However, if you break her heart, prepare for the worst." I say.

"Okay. Gotcha." He chuckles.

"Um, Mom? Since it's Friday, can Thomas stay over so I can bring him to meet Dad tomorrow?" Rylee asks.

"Sure. But, I don't want you two doin the nasty. If I hear anything that has to do with that, you will have to pay the consequences. I don't want my daughter getting pregnant at the age 13. It's bad enough that I got pregnant for you and Jedell at age 18 and same with Tommy's parents!" I say and their jaw drops.

"I assure you, Jada, that we will not be doing that any time soon." Tommy chuckles awkwardly.

"Okay." I smile.

"Oh! I heard that you're pregnant. How's the pregnancy going?" Tommy asks and I can feel tears coming to my eyes.

"Uh, Tommy. That's a touchy subject." Rylee whispers.

"Oh. I am so so sorry, Jada. I didn't mean to make you upset. I didn't know." He says apologetically.

"It's okay, Tommy. You didn't know." I say.

"Um, Mom? Where's Jedell?" Rylee asks.

"Oh, she's been upstairs the whole time. I'll be right back. I'll go see what she's up to." I say before going upstairs.

I go upstairs and knock on Jedell's door. No answer.

"Jedell, honey? Are you okay? Why haven't you been downstairs with us?" I say softly as I knock some more.

She finally opens the door and her eyes are puffy like she's been crying.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" I ask sympathetically.

"Rylee." She mumbles.

"What about her?" I frown.

"She gets all the boys because she's pretty and popular and no boys want me because I'm just well, me." She sighs and plunks on her bed as I enter her room.

"What do you mean, honey?" I ask as I sit on her bed with her.

"Well, in school she's the popular cheerleader and I'm the nerd who is right into school. All the boys love Rylee. The other day, literally 4 guys asked her out! Four! I never get asked out. All the boys hate me because I'm nerdy." She huffs.

"Boys don't hate you. For example: Joshua doesn't hate you." I say and she rolls her eyes.

"But he's my best friend. Why would he wanna date me? He's too hot for me. I'm gonna be alone forever." She says.

"No you're not! Jedell, you're only 13 years old! You have like 70 years ahead of you! You will find someone. I guarantee it! This is normal. We all have those times where we think we're losers and that we're gonna be alone forever. Like, after I broke up with my ex boyfriend in high school, Jordan, I thought I was gonna be alone forever but then, along came your father and he rocked my world. As soon as he walked in the door, he had my heart. And guess what. He was the one who approached me. I couldn't believe it when he came up to me and started talking to me. I was literally frozen with fear, nervousness, and so many other emotions and I could hardly talk to him! Believe me, Jedell. Some guy is gonna come up to you some day and although you might not know it right away, he'll be the one for you." I say and she smiles.

"Thank you, Mom. I love you." She sighs and I smile.

"I love you too, Hun. Now, come on, let's go downstairs." I whisper and kiss her forehead.

We get downstairs and go back to the living room where Rylee and Tommy are sitting on the couch, holding hands and smiling at each other.

"That's what I want in my life." Jedell whispers.

"You'll get it, sweetie." I whisper back.

"Uh, Jada? May I use the bathroom here?" Tommy asks.

"Of course! You don't have to ask! It's down the hall, last door to the left.

"Thanks." He says and leaves the room.

"Mom?" Rylee mumbles.

"Yes, dear?" I ask.

"Uh, this is kind of weird to ask but...how do you know it's the right time for the first kiss between a couple and how would one initiate the kiss?" She asks and I smirk.

"Ohhh, someone wants to have her first kiss!" I giggle.

"Mom, I'm serious." She sighs.

"Okay. How you know it's the right time is if you just feel it in your heart that you want to share a kiss with your boyfriend. And how to initiate it, just go for it. Whenever. It's funny if you do it while they're in the middle of talking and you just lean in and kiss them and see what their reaction is. But, it's also beautiful if it's during a romantic setting while you're just staring into each other's eyes and start to lean in at the same time." I say and she raises an eyebrow.

"You're thinking about Dad aren't ya?" She asks and I nod.

"I am. Even though I feel a lot of hate for him, I still love him more than anyone besides you and Jedell. I was even having second thoughts about divorcing him right before the judge said the divorce was final." I sigh and her eyes go wide.

"You were having second thoughts about getting a divorce with Dad?" Jedell gasps and I nod.

"But then, it was too late. I'm still sort of glad though because I can be happy again." I fake a smile.

"You were happy with Dad though." Rylee whispers.

"I was. But there were so many heartbreaking moments through the years. Even before you two were born. I never told you two this but, I got shot by a woman who was obsessed with your father and wanted me dead. I almost died because I had lost so much blood. You two were just babies then and I almost died. Your father was by my side though. He spent hours by my side when he thought I was dead and he was talking about our relationship. Mostly the good parts. Your father and I have so much HIStory." I sigh.

"That's why you guys belong together." Jedell says.

"We don't though. The thing that happened with Lisa Marie proved it." I sigh.

"Mom-" Rylee starts but I cut her off.

"Let's just talk about what you asked me. Well, do you have any more questions about anything?" I ask.

"No." She shakes her head.

"Hey, sorry I took so long. But I cleaned up your cupboard in your bathroom for you." Tommy says, entering the room.

"Oh, you didn't have to do that, Tommy." I giggle.

"It's no problem. I like cleaning anyway. It actually bothers me when something's not clean." He shrugs.

"Oh wow. You're very different from other guys then." I chuckle.

"I get that a lot. So, what was the conversation topic while I was gone?" He smiles.

"Oh, Rylee was just asking me-" I start but Rylee cuts me off.

"Um, nothing! We were just talking about groceries. Yeah, groceries." She says and gives me a look that says 'don't say anything!'.

"Yeah." I nod, going along with it as he looks at us suspiciously.

"Okay..."

"So, what would you like for supper everyone?" I ask.

"Aren't we gonna wait for Haley?" Jedell asks.

"Nah..she's at her boyfriend's for the night." I say and they nod.

"Oh, Mom! Let's have your amazing Shepard Pie!" Rylee cheers.

"Okay. Tommy, do you like Shepard pie?" I ask and he nods.

"Yes."

"Okay. Shepard pie it is!" I smile.
