11. Now That I Have You

You thought you would be more disappointed that you only got second place.

You were ecstatic, standing next to your friends and smiling as you were all gifted your medals. They had to wait to hand them out until you and Bakugou were healed.

He had passed out not long after you.

You still couldn't get over that exhilarating fight between the two of you. It was so weird how someone you often loathed so much, understood you.

You didn't mind the boy so much anymore.

Once the awarding ceremony was over, you raced back to the stands to find Midoriya.

You knew he would be close by and likely sad that you didn't win.

You found him off in the corner having an intense conversation with Ochaco. The expressions on their faces made you so nervous that your infectious smile dropped.

Midoriya noticed you almost instantly, a small smile flickered across his lips as he motioned for you to come over.

"That's one shiny metal you've got there, Aizawa-San." Midoriya commented with a large smile. "I'm proud of you." He had leaned in and whispered.

Your face immediately heated up and your heart pounded against your chest. "Is something going on?" You ignored the feeling, deflecting the conversation.

Midoriya sighed as he turned towards Ochaco who took this as her moment to speak.

"Something happened to Iida's brother so he had to take off suddenly. We're just really worried about him." She told you as she fumbled with her fingers.

Your eyes widened. "What happened to his brother?"

They both shrugged but the look in their eyes made you wary.

"So you really aren't upset about the loss?"

You were now walking alone with Midoriya, changed back into your class uniforms. You were both exhausted and the last place you wanted to return to was the classroom, but you had to anyways. You father had demanded so.

You shook your head as you leaned against his arm whilst walking. "I'm not. I promise."

Midoriya seemed confused. "I thought it was really important to you. So you could win the rights to know the secrets?" His voice almost sounded strained but you nodded, letting out a small hum.

"It is. But that doesn't seem like the most important thing to me anymore."

"Why?" He asked gently.

You smiled up at him before looking back down at your feet. You refused to change out of your bright tennis shoes and you found it quite amusing to be wearing them with your uniform.

"Well, not knowing what should be a huge piece of myself made me feel lost and lonely most of the time." You shared with him. "I know I had my family but I was missing something. Now that I have you, I don't feel so lonely anymore."

Midoriya blinked, completely caught off guard by your sentiment. You were never the one for such sappiness and you often got flustered if you did resort to it.

But here you were standing there, over-exaggerating your steps like a child, completely fine.

You had meant it so whole heartedly that you felt no need to be embarrassed.

He wasn't sure how to react to that.

"What happened down there?" He asked with a hard gulp. "With Kacchan."

You hummed as your lips shifted into a wicked grin. "Well we both seemed to acknowledge silently that it wasn't the fight we wanted. Neither of us were at full strength and we were without our weapons. We'll have a rematch one day and we'll prove who's stronger." You shook your head. "I have no doubt."

Midoriya frowned. "You two seem to get along."

You snorted. "No, I hate that asshole." You smiled.

"Tomura Shigaraki." Komogiri found the man sitting in the corner of the bar alone, flipping through images of you.

"This is all he could come up with. Can you believe that?" He asked with a heartless chuckle as he spread out the images before him on the table. "He's supposed to be the greatest villain of all time and all he could get me is a few measly pictures."

Komogiri eyed him warily. His eyes flickered towards the table and saw an array of images of the you, all throughout your life.

"Maybe he hoped that it would spark a memory in you?" Komogiri tried.

Shigaraki slammed his fist down onto the table. "No Komogiri." He seethed. "He is trying to make me feel insane by showing me that she has always lived a life with Eraser Head."

Komogiri stepped closer and noticed one image in particular.

You were quite young in the picture, walking across the street and holding Aizawa's hand tightly.

But then he noticed your other hand was up as well, though all he could see of the other person was a bright yellow boot.

Komogiri had a feeling that your story, and your connection to the League, didn't end with these pictures.

It was only the beginning after all.

"In light of the sports festival, there will be no school tomorrow." Your father announced to your class and you slumped over your desk in relief.

"Scouting reports and such from the pros will be waiting here for you after the break. So look forward to that as you enjoy your time off." Your father finished and everyone began to gather their belongings.

You sat there momentarily. Scouting reports? You remembered he had mentioned it but now that the festival was over and the reports would be back...this whole hero thing started to feel scarily real.

*
The class cleared out quickly and you waved good bye to Midoriya as you waited on the front steps of the school for your father.

You frowned as you watched your friend leave with Ochaco for the station, you had wanted to go with them.

"Y/n." His voice snapped you out of your sleepy trance. He reached his hand out and you pulled yourself up.

You smiled sleepily at him. "Hey Dad."

He ruffled your hair and you could tell he wanted to smile, even through the bandages.

"You did good today, kiddo." He wrapped his arm around your shoulder and held you close to him as the two of you went on your way.

You smiled teasingly at him. "Awe. Tryna show some fatherly affection. It's about time." He pushed you away and walked faster.

You laughed catching back up with him. "Don't be like that you old man."

"Don't talk to me." He grumbled and you could hear the emotion laced in his voice.

"You can say it you know? You can talk about how cool I am. I mean, my last fight with Bakugou was pretty brutal." You chuckled.

"You got that leg healed up?" He ensured and you frowned at his worry.

"Yeah." You nodded, sad that he wasn't letting you boost your ego some more.

The two of you were quiet for a moment as you waddled on home.

"I'm proud of you, Y/n." He whispered and you smiled softly.

"Thanks Dad."

"Torino." Aizawa greeted the small man outside of the station. "Why'd you call me here?" He pulled out his phone and checked it anxiously, ensuring that you hadn't messaged him about burning down the house, or selling yourself to the circus.

He hated leaving you home alone.

"I got a call from the officers. Seems like they have some new information regarding our girl." His tone was so normal but the words sent Aizawa into a flurry of nervousness.

"Already?" He gulped.

"I'm glad you two could make it on such short notice." Tsukauchi stepped out of the precinct and greeted the two men.

"Please, catch us up."

*
"There's no way." Aizawa whispered as he stared at the file before him.

Tsukauchi just sighed and shook his head. "Now remember there's nothing concrete to prove all this just yet." He tapped on one of the two photos before him. "But this is a story that needs to be looked into further. We're going to reopen her family's case."

Aizawa's fingers drummed on the table before him. His brows furrowed together. "Is there any way for you to investigate this without her knowing?"

Tsukauchi stared at the two for a moment but nodded quickly. "I'm sure there's ways around it. Just provide the DNA sample needed so we can ensure everything is provable."

*
"We have to tell her." Aizawa shook his head.

"We can't do that right now." Torino mimicked his actions. "That would put her in danger."

"How?" Aizawa snapped. "How would knowing who her family was endanger her? We've done the best we could to train her to be able to handle every situation. She's a skilled fighter Gran, I think she can handle this."

"My connections, my call."

Aizawa's eyes slitted. "My daughter, my call."

**
"Good morning Midoriya!!" You called to your friend as you ran through the rain, not a care in the world that your uniform was getting soaked.

"Aizawa-San?!" The boy gasped and grabbed your arm and pulled you under his umbrella. "You'll catch a cold! Why didn't you bring an umbrella?"

You rolled your eyes. "I was under one but my dad was walking too slow so I ran off." You waved your hand dismissively. "Besides, a little rain never killed nobody."

Midoriya stared a you for a moment. "Uh, pretty sure that's completely inaccurate."

**
Before you knew it you were in your classroom surrounded by your friends buzzing about all of the attention they received throughout the weekend and on their way to school.

You wanted to join in the gossip, you had been noticed by a few people this morning as well.

But unfortunately you were dealing with the consequences of a wet blazer.

"Idiot." You looked up and saw Bakugou glowering down at you.

"Good morning to you too." You wanted to have a snarkier retort, but your teeth were chattering.

"Stand up." He barked.

"I'm not going to stand up just-" Bakugou reached down and yanked you up by the arm.

"Ow! Asshat—what are you doing?" You shrieked as he tugged your wet jacket off you and replaced it with his large one.

"Damn lucky this thing is thick enough that it didn't soak your undershirt." He rolled his eyes as he laid your jacket over a stray chair to dry.

"Awe Bakugou you're such a sweetheart." You placed your hands on your cheeks and made teasing faces at the boy.

He didn't even look at you.

"Aizawa-San?" You turned your head and was met with Midoriya's gaping expression.

"Wassup." You grinned as you stuck up a peace sign.

"What are you wearing?"

"I guess Bakubro's jacket." You shrugged as you let the long sleeve fall back over your arms.

"Stop calling me that!"

"Stop calling me eye bags then!" You called back with a big grin.

Izuku's eyes narrowed momentarily before he smiled gently. "I would've given you mine if you were cold."

You shrugged again. "I didn't ask him he just forced it on me."

You turned back around and missed the way Izuku's eyes bored into the back of Bakugou's head.

He had no right to be jealous, he knew that, he never offered in the first place. He had been more worried about Iida and his brother than if you were warm.

He wanted to kick himself.

"Today you all will be picking your hero aliases." You heard your father announce but was interrupted as everyone cheered. "But first let's go over the pro draft picks I mentioned the other day."

On his board he flashed a list of students who had been scouted by agencies.

You weren't surprised to see your name on the list, but you were disappointed with how short it was. Especially compared to Bakugou and Todoroki.

You had about 400 choices and when Bakugou noticed how much more he had than you he turned around with a wide smirk across his face.

"Typically there's more of a spread, but Bakugou and Todoroki stole most of the spotlight."

You weren't going to lie, that hurt a little bit. It made sense anyways, there was nothing flashy about your quirk.

If you hadn't been second place or a hero's daughter you probably would have blended in, getting no drafts at all.

"With that settled, whether you were picked or not you'll still have a chance to work alongside some pro heroes."

You were so wrapped up in your thoughts that you missed Midnight come in to help your class pick out hero names.

You realized quickly that your hero name was something you never thought intently about.

As you watched your classmates stand confidently with theirs you started to grow nervous.

You began to write an idea when Izuku popped up next to you.

"What's your pick Aizawa-San?" He asked and you quickly covered the letter you had written.

"I-I'm not sure!"

He smiled nervously as he took his board to the front of the room.

When it was your turn you shyly turned it around.

"T-The floating hero: Kick Star." You stood there awkwardly as a massive amount of heat rose to your cheeks.

"Kick Star?" Midnight asked and you grew even more nervous. You really didn't want to get sent back.

"Yeah! That's because she fights with ninja stars!" Kirishima grins as he calls out your reasoning.

"And she's a brat who likes to kick people in the head!" Bakugou added with a growl and Aoyama nodded even though no one paid attention to him.

You blushed even deeper now that you realized how much attention your friends paid to you.

You noticed Izuku smiling at you, nodding slightly as your eyes met his.

You didn't realize how much you valued his approval.

"Yes." You stood straighter. "Kick Star." You spoke again with a small smile, more sure of yourself now that you had your friends on your side.

"Alright, take your seat Kick Star."
