19. next time
"Deku?" Her voice was shaking, you were sure yours would sound the exact same if you could will yourself to speak. "A friend? No...it doesn't look like it. Could you get off him please?" The fear radiating off her could be sliced with a knife.
Raising his head, the man flashed a nervous smiled, waving his hands apologetically. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize he came with friends." His eyes landed on you, dropping his smile entirely, easily remembering your last encounter.
You had still yet to move.
He stood, reforming that easily faked smile as he inaudibly muttered to Izuku.
Was he going to grab you? Walk away and say nothing? Warn you of his next attack? Your brain spiraled into an oblivion.
While walking passed you, Shigaraki's shoulder brushed yours, causing him to pause. "Next time." Was all he said, a warning so simple but chilling enough to send you to your knees.
"Shigaraki, wait!" Izuku coughed, holding desperately to his neck. "What does All For One want?" He wheezed.
"Dunno. You should be more worried about our next encounter. That's when you'll die and I'll take that pretty thing from you once and for all."
As soon as she heard his name, Ocacho began scrambling for her phone and calling the police.
Izuku was by your side as soon as he could properly breathe again, coaxing you to your feet.
Your cold hands immediately grabbing his face, turning it gently and scanning your eyes over the entirety of it. "Are you okay?" The fear released from your body and your tears began to rampantly stream down your cheeks.
He smiled gently, his hand reaching up to cup yours that was still touching his cheek. "I am now." He slowly removed your hands from his face, almost appearing to be relishing in the feeling of his hand against yours.
And for a moment, there it was like your heart stopped.
Thinking back to your conversation with Ochaco and those blurry feelings,
They didn't feel so unclear anymore.
He could have died, where would that have left you if he did?
Sometimes this boy before you felt like the other half of your soul and honestly...that was absolutely terrifying.

The air was warm as it slowly whipped around a few stray leaves in front of the police station. You tucked yourself on a bench, switching back and forth from twirling your fingers and picking at the rips in your jeans as you waited for Izuku.
Pulling your knees to your chest, you placed your chin in between your legs to comfort yourself. Ever since the rest of the dramatics of the day had unfolded, you were left with barely any time to be alone with your thoughts.
And boy, we're they running.
"Rough day?" A voice suddenly besides you asked. Your head shot up and you cringed as your eyes met the deep eye-sockets of a scrawny blonde man. Subtly, you scooted towards the side of the bench farther away from him.
"Yeah." You shortly replied.
"You're not in any trouble, are you?" The man asked and you noticed he had a familiar sounding voice.
"Um...no." You mumbled, now peeking at the man out of the corner of your eye. He looked like a deflated All Might, but that couldn't possibly be true...could it?
"Ah, just waiting then." Man this guy was nosy. "I'm waiting for a friend of mine as well."
"I don't really know why I'm here." You admitted. "My friend told me I could go home hours ago."
The man was looking at you, you could feel it. He stayed silent so you took it as your opportunity to continue.
"He could've died today." You whispered, tightening your grip around your legs, pulling yourself closer into a fetal position. "And I let my feelings for him get in the way of saving him." You felt a stray tear slip from your eye, dragging slowly down your cheek.
"How did that stop you?" The man asked.
You sighed, lifting your head and staring at the sky clear of clouds but full of stars. "I left him alone to find our other friend. Things have been weird between us because...well because I guess she likes him too."
"You fixing something doesn't mean it's your fault Mi—your friend got hurt. You did the right thing and so did your friend, clearly." The man patted her on the shoulder.
There was a faint sound coming from inside the station that wasn't there before, so the man with his hands tucked deeply into his pockets took this as his moment to stand in leave.
"You're going to be okay kid, you both are." He smiled softly before walking off.
You stood. "Wait, I-"
"Y/n?" His voice was sweet against your ears, easing all of your anxiety. "What are you still doing here?"
You spun on your feet and hugged him with every ounce of strength left in your body. He immediately returned the embrace, but you knew he was growing more worried about you by the second.
"I wanted to say I'm sorry." You whispered against his chest, turning to press your cheek against it. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I left you, if he had killed you I—" You sobbed and,
One of his hands cupped your cheek and gently moved your face so your eyes would meet his. His eyes were shimmering in the dim lights overhead and you could almost see a pattern of the stars behind you dancing around his eyes. Like usual, his comforting smile was never faltering, and his grip on your mid-back tightened. "It's not your fault." His voice was full of reassurance, like he actually believed it. "That could have been a completely different situation today, Y/n, I'm glad you left." He unknowingly clutched the back of your shirt.
You shook your head slightly. "No, but, I-"
He placed his forehead against yours, his beautiful eyes now closed. "He could have gotten you, Y/n." Your breathing hitched in your throat with his next sentiment. "I wouldn't be able to live with that, without you."
And his eyes were open again and peering into yours, and you were suddenly brought back to your conversation with Ochaco right before your battle with Bakugou.
"I think you two are really great together."
Your head shot up. "What do you mean?"
She giggled at your reaction. "You know what I mean Y/n-San. You bring out something special in each other. You've only known each other for a few weeks and you've grown so close."
But now it's been more than a few weeks and the two of you have become something completely different.
It was terrifying but electrifying all at the same time.
Your eyes flickered towards his lips, you noticed him mimicking your actions.
"Sorry to, uh, interrupt." The two of you sprung apart, and that's when you finally noticed the officer Izuku had came out with.
You clapped Izuku's shoulder dramatically, laughing as you held your fist out for a bump. "Yep! Glad you're safe dude!" You tried to cover up your red face and pounding heart by your dramatics.
He smiled slightly, bumping your fist with his. "You too, bro."

The next few days proved to be quite the hassle.
Changing the location of the summer camp was completely reasonable, Tomura Shigaraki was proving to grow more and more dangerous as the days went by.
You were frustrated that your father wouldn't even tell you, not for a lack of trying (you had begged for hours to know) but even you could be brain washed you guessed.
The bus was even more worrisome.
Everyone was going crazy with their demanding music choices and yelling.
Iida was the worst about that.
You had been conflicted, a part of you wanted to sit with Izuku, but the other side of you couldn't rid thoughts of that night where the two of you blurred a line you never even needed to know existed.
The two of you had texted minimally, but even he seemed to need some time to think before you talked in person again.
Before you knew it, there was a strong grip on your wrist and you were being pulled down into a seat.
"Sit with me." Bakugou added gruffly after forcing you to like he had somehow given you the option.
"Oh of course." You rolled your eyes. "I still don't want to talk to you." Crossing your arms and looking away from him snottily like the child you are.
"Then don't talk to me eye bags, but it's not like you have anywhere else to go." Bakugou huffed, shoving his ear bud in the ear opposite of the one facing yours.
"You want me to call you by your name but here you are still calling me that demeaning nickname." You spat, turning to face him. "You know if I was some normal girl you would've gotten a drink thrown in your face for saying inconsiderate shit like that-"
"I wouldn't like you at all if you were some normal girl." He crossed his arms, mimicking your earlier position. "You're barely tolerable as you are now."
"Gosh you're such a dickhead!" You slammed your hands down to your thighs, cringing at the stinging sensation it brought but frustrated nonetheless.
"You gonna tell me why you are all fidgety around that damn nerd or are you going to keep pretending the problem is me?" He asked, spinning the cord of the ear bud he kept out meticulously.
You growled, taking in a deep breath to try and stop yourself from literally exploding on that bus. "I'm not fidgety and you're wrong because you are the problem." You sighed, shaking your head. "You act like you want me and get all mad at me but you're just using me to get to him. Let's not act like there's anything else."
Bakugou gripped your forearm and pulled you towards him. His face was so close to yours that his nose bumped harshly into your own. "That's what you think, huh? That's all?"
You gritted your teeth. "Yeah, you're a fucking asshole."
He let you go with a low tch, the force sending you back a bit. "Then you're blinder than I thought."
You rolled your eyes. "And I thought you were supposed to be smart, you're stupid if you think that the way you feel is clear to everyone around you." You looked at him and began speaking mockingly. "News Flash: it isn't."
He didn't say anything after that, just put in the other ear bud as if he was blocking you out completely. You didn't care though, you just glanced over his head and watched as the trees ran past the bus.
You sighed, sinking further down into your seat.
Why was life beginning to get so complicated?

The air in the old bar was tense, sifting through the space and bouncing across each individual standing in the room.
Tomura stared them down, analyzing each criminal standing before him. He couldn't tell which one pissed him off the most.
The girl with the bright blonde hair and wicked grin was the most chilling. She seemed like the stark opposite of you, which was troubling to convince him that she would be able to grab you when she got the chance.
The one with the dark hair, skin burnt away, and metal holding his face together was incredibly irritating. He stood aloof, ready to share nothing about himself other than his desire to kill Endeavor.
Twice wouldn't shut up, the only reason Tomura knew his name was because he was switching between personalities.
Tomura grabbed two printed images, large and ready to show off. He slammed them down on the table in front of him.
"Remember these faces."
They'd been through the formalities already, he already asserted his power.
But that didn't stop the suspicion from flashing across their faces.
"Remember them!" He snapped.
"Sir, if you don't mind, but their names would be quite helpful." Mr. Compress added with a lack of hesitance and a sultry voice.
Tomura, with furrowed brows slammed down another piece of paper.
Katsuki Bakugou
Y/n Aizawa
Scrawled across it.
"You bring them to me, or I'll kill you."
