ChapterFour-So They Act Like They Can't Dance 

May 30th, 2005

 It's now the end of May. So far, UTurn has fully moved into their new house. They've also started rehearsals for the upcoming New England's Teen Superstar tour. They've just done the vocal rehearsals, and now it's time for the dance rehearsals. 

 As they were entered the dance studio, Amanda and Ethan were sulking. Andrew, being professionally trained in dance, noticed this. He asked,"Why you two pouting?"

 Ethan said in an irritated tone, "We're not dancers, Hawthorne."

 "So? I wasn't dancer until I was about 7. And dancing doesn't run in my family. So if I can dance, you two can too. Oh, and be respectful towards our choreographer. I worked with him before, and loads of other well-known choreographers. He's one of the best in Boston."

 "Hawthorne, how can I forget the times you would always tell me about your 'amazing' dance classes?"

 Andrew rolled his eyes.

 It's been only a few minutes into the rehearsals, and already Ethan and Amanda have been giving attitude. As the rehearsals continued on, their attitudes kept getting worse. Andrew, at that point, had enough. So he lashed out, "Ethan, Amanda, stop with your f*cked up attitude! You may not be dancers, but you shouldn't be acting like assholes!"

 Alyson said to him, "Andrew, chill! Relax!"

 "How can I if these two brats deliberately not make an effort to dance?!"

 "Andrew, I know you are suspicious. I am, too. But just relax, okay?"

 "But-"

 Alyson then kissed Andrew gently. Then she pulled away, and asked, "Are you relaxed now?"

 Andrew said seductively, "Yeah, but a little horny."

 Alyson then playfully punched Andrew's shoulder. Then she said, "But I think a break would be good for now after an hour of dancing."

 Andrew smiled, saying, "Good idea."

 The choreographer, David, overheard the break idea, so he allowed UTurn to take a break. Then Ethan approached Andrew. He taunted, "Hawthorne, you're apparently very serious about dancing, right?"

 Andrew said coldly, "I was being groomed for Broadway. Why you asking?"

 "Why don't you put that much effort into the school's basketball team?"

 Andrew said in an irritated tone, "What are you talking about? I was the best basketball player the school ever had. By the timeI finished ninth grade, I became a varsity member."

 "But you were bored with the sport."

 "Not really. Besides, you were the one who was bored of sports. And you played both football and basketball."

 "Sports was never my thing."

 At the same time, Alyson stormed up Amanda. She demanded, "Stop acting like a bitchy princess who can't take dance seriously."

 Amanda said sarcastically), "Oooh, the bimbo blondie bitch who acts like a princess is telling me to stop being a 'princess'. Ooo, I'm so scared!"

 Then Alyson ranted, "OMFG! Just cuz I wear Pink, Juicy, Armani, Guess, and Burberry, date the hottest guy who's just like Brandon Hilton, dress like The Plastics who just joined S Club 8, listens to nothing but pop music, live in a posh house, have blonde hair, and have rich parents doesn't mean I'm a f*cking princess! When I dance and do cheerleading, I work my arse off! That's right! I speak British English cuz I'm British-crazy!!!"

 Amanda's eyes widened, and everyone heard Alyson's rant.

 Justin said, "Woah Alyson! Calm down! You look like you're about to explode of something."

 Andrew added, "And can you please stop comparing me to Brandon! I don't even look like him."

 Alyson then said calmly, "Anyway, my point is that I take dance seriously. You think cheerleading is all pom-poms, but it isn't. I got Dancers' Feet from intense dance classes. My feet has blisters, calluses, and dead toenails. I got serious injuries from both dancing and cheerleading. Chipped fingernails, busted knees, arms, and hands, and bruised legs. I almost had a concussion."

 Then Bailey and Stacie chimed in. Stacie said, "It was a stunt gone wrong, and we were just freshmen then."

 Bailey added, "She was crying, and had to be taken to the hospital. A week later she went back to school, and she got a got-well card on her locker."

 Alyson said, "I never knew who wrote it. There was no name on the card. I asked Justin if he wrote it, but he didn't."

 Andrew, overhearing the conversation, spoke up, "I wrote it."

 Alyson, Bailey, Stacie, and Amanda were shocked to hear that. Even Justin and Ethan were surprised.

 Alyson asked, "It was you? Why didn't you tell me?"

 "At that time I was with Amanda, and you and I 'hated' each other. But we really loved each other. I was scared how you'd react if my name was on the card. So I left card 'anonymous'. I was hoping you'd be fine. I heard you were crying. I wanted to visit you at the hospital, but, once again, I was scared how you'd react."

 With that, Alyson passionately kissed Andrew. Ethan and Amanda were disgusted.

 Amanda said in a disgusted tone, "Oh god, I don't want to see my ex-boyfriend making out with the bitchy blondie."

 Then Alyson and Andrew broke the kiss.

 Bailey said, "Amanda, you're now in UTurn. It's time to start dancing and let Andrew go."

 Justin said to Ethan, "And Ethan, can you stop being an arse now? We let you join the band. So get along with Andrew. You two used to be mates."

 And with that, a full-blown yelling match has begun. Amanda and Ethan versus pretty much everyone else in UTurn. Riley tried stay out of it, but she's being dragged into it. David can see the rehearsals are not going to continue. Andrew noticed this. So he got him outside the dance studio.

 David asked, "What is it?"

 Andrew replied, "I think we both can see that no one will be able to rehearse. So I have an idea: You just choreograph only 6 of us, and leave out Ethan and Amanda. Then the rest of us can teach Ethan and Amanda the moves you taught us."

 David thought for a moment, then he agreed. So they both went back inside the dance studio. David announced Andrew's suggestion. The members agreed to this suggestion. Even Ethan and Amanda agreed to it.
