[ 5 ] Tongue tied

There is underage drinking in this chapter. Idk if that's a big deal for you guys but it kinda isn't in my country so 😳 ...

Finally some fluff!

"I can't believe we are actually doing this."

Peter Parker isn't much of a partying type. The last party he attended was Liz's party last year, and it obviously didn't go well. Ned and Michelle were annoying him because of it, saying that he was missing his best teenage years and have to learn how to have fun. Sadly, Peter stopped being a teenager a second after that spider bit him and suddenly there is a constant weight on his shoulders and back that said: 'You have to keep everyone safe. Every day, all the time.'

Besides, he knew he really couldn't enjoy partying, homecomings, proms, winter formals, since something will ALWAYS blow up, make him run in hurry and question everybody 'What possibly Peter Parker has to do right now.'

It was Saturday night and not so famous trio, Ned, Michelle and Peter stood in front of some senior's house. They didn't even know his name, all they knew was that there was a party at his place and according to Michelle, that's all that mattered.

His two best friends had been trying to make their friend say yes to this ever since a rumour about party came out. Michelle just wanted to drink and have fun, while Ned thought this could be a good idea for his brown haired friend to relax a little from all the responsibilities he was getting lately. Dark skinned girl snorted at that, not understanding what kind of responsibilities Peter actually had.

"We are. We so are." Michelle smirked in pride as she cracked her knuckles as if she was going in a boxing ring to beat up people and not...  a party.

"Oh my God." Peter groaned as he watched their friend happily bounce towards the doors that were wide open. "Ned please don't make me—"

"Peter. I said this once, I will say this again. This might be good for you! You have been tense for weeks now. You need to relax a little." Ned said as he grabbed his best friend's hand.

And it was the truth. The Green Goblin hadn't showed up for weeks now, and Peter was worried as hell. He was waiting for something to go up in flames, he was waiting for the sound of sirens, he was waiting for his Spidey sense to magically tell him 'bro there's danger lmao'.

It felt like the villain was waiting for something and it scared him.

Ned dragged him into the house in which was blasting music and drunk teens. Not even a second passed since Peter entered the living room and was hit by a strong aroma of alcohol and... drugs. Teens were everywhere, dancing, drinking, smoking, playing beer pong, jumping in the hot tub that was in the backyard, making out in corners and only God knows what not.

The room was stuffy and full. They spotted Michelle dancing somewhere with a cup of drink in her hand already. Normally Michelle wasn't that huge alcoholic, she just wanted to have fun once in her life. Ned and Peter laughed at the girl as she began to do robot dance, none of them really thinking they would see her like that. Having fun.

"Come on, Pete, let's have fun." Ned said between his chuckles before joining the girl, not even bothering to drag Peter along this time. The boy sighed before joining the two as well, already regretting it. Michelle took his hands into hers and made him dance to the beat.

"Oh my God, this song!" The girl exclaimed as Tongue tied by Grouplove started playing. Peter laughed in response before his eyes darted across the room and spotted Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborn. He confusedly gave Ned a well known look. Of course the trio was alone without their fourth member. "TAKE ME TO YOUR BEST FRIENDS HOUSE," Michelle started screaming into the air as she spun Peter as if he was the girl in this case. The boy could only laugh at this, playing along, happy to see her friend having fun. "GOIN' 'ROUND THIS ROUNDABOUT—"

"OOOOH YEAAAAH!" Ned joined in as he wrapped his hands around the two's shoulders, laughing along.

"Take me to your best friend's house," Michelle continued, this time little bit quieter since people were turning their heads into their direction. "Loved you then and I love you now!" She sang with goofy looking face as she put her palms on Peter's cheeks, copping his entire face.

"Oooohhh yeaaahh..." Peter laughed as he closed his eyes, swaying a little like s little puppy.

"Don't take me tongue tied—" Ned said before taking a large sip of his drink what made his best friend's jaw drop. Both Michelle and Ned laughed at him, giving him a cup as well. Just as Michelle was about to continue the lyrics, she took few steps back while laughing and then crashed into someone. She quickly turned around with her eyes wide as the person she crashed into did it do.

Gwen Stacy and Michelle Jones were staring at each-other like two lambs that entered lion's den. Both of them had flushed cheeks and while the shorter girl had her mouth slightly open, trying to say whatever excuse, Michelle had her mouth tight shut as if she was hiding in it frog that couldn't be let out, her soft brown eyes wide open.

Peter and Ned exchanged grins as both of the girls began to talk in the same time before nervously laughing at each-other. Shorter girl flashed a bright smile before turning around and catching up with her friends.

"Did radioactive rabbits bit those girls? Jesus look how shy they were." Ned murmured under his breath to his friend, who laughed in response and shook his head. "Michelle, what was that?"

"Uh... um... I don't know." She stuttered, her cheeks still coloured in bright red. "Imma get myself another drink." She quickly said before turning around and dashing to the table with drinks.

"I'm gonna search for bathroom." Peter told Ned before disappearing as well, gently shoving through the crowds of drunk teens. The music was too loud for him to handle since he literally hears everything God knows how many times louder than it usually is. He got upstairs glancing around with the most confused facial expression someone could see. He opened the first door he saw peeking in. Disappointed hit him in the face as he realised he entered someone's bed room- but then saw two teens viciously eating each other's faces off, moaning in pleasure, both of them only in underwear.

Peter's eyes widened as his face formed a grimace of disgust before quickly slamming the door, gulping as he did so. "That was definitely not the bathroom." He murmured to himself as he shut his eyes tight, wincing as he heard 'What the fuck was that?!' coming out of now closed bedroom.

He continued his search, opening the door that definitely lead to bathroom. And they did, only there was one guy puking in the toilet loudly while two girls sat in the bathtub high as kite, laughing at something and making 'woosh' sounds. Peter really didn't want to know.

He sighed in defeat before exiting again, standing in the dark hallway, not knowing what he was supposed to do now. He really, really needed to pee. Biting his bottom lip, he dashed down the stairs and tried to find some kind of exit, or backyard. He looked around to see where Ned was, but he wasn't anywhere in his sight.

He went in the backyard where his peers were jumping in the huge hot tub, splashing everything around themselves. He passed them, trying to find a place where were no people. He took a turn and found himself in another backyard, with much smaller hot tub. He glanced around and saw there was weirdly no people. It was quiet and lonely, just like Peter liked. There were bushes close to the wooden fence, and a little space between those two. The brunet looked at it with his eyebrows furrowing and pursed bottom lips. Was he really about to pee in someone's backyard?

"Fuck it." He whispered to himself as he hurried over the place, looking around himself once again just in case. Sighing in relief when he saw no body was there, he carefully hid behind the bush, making sure he was secured and hidden from all the sides except one where he entered, turning his back to it and unzipping his pants. The bushes were covering everything except from the half of his head, so the top was sticking out. Just as he was doing his business, trying to be as fast as possible, he heard:

"Peter Parker, are you peeing?"

Horror creeped on his face as his eyes widened, zipping his pants back in inhuman speed. He glanced around, trying to find the source of the sound, before his wide eyes landed on her.

Bambi Moody was lying on the grass with carton box of juice in her hand, looking so drunk her cheeks were flushed and her lips were forming the goofiest smile. Her pupils were delighted and her long brown hair was a bit messy.

"No." He quickly responded, his face flushing.

"Oh my god you areeee..." she laughed as she extended the last words and closed her eyes, smile still on her lips. "Don't feel bad about it though. I peed there five minutes ago too."

"What."

"Yeah. Is that guy still puking?"

"Um... yeah."

The girl laughed at that again, covering her face with her hand. Peter rubbed his hands into his trousers, feeling uneasy as he gave her a little whatisgoingon smile.

"Do ya need wet wipes?"

"What." He repeated the same phrase from few moments ago.

"You ain't touching shit with those hands." She said in weird accent as she tossed him full packet of wet wipes at him, he barely catching it.

"Where did you get those?" He asked as he pulled one out, before slowly and carefully sitting next to the girl on the ground. It was obvious the girl was super drunk, and it worried and made him kind of... kind of happy at the same time. These weeks Bambi didn't smile at all, and even though she under influence of alcohol, she was still happy. And that's what mattered, at least for him.

"Grabbed them outta bathroom." She shrugged as she took a sip of her drink, her eyes heavy of sleepiness. She looked tired.

"What is that?" He pointed at the juice. "I doubt it is just... orange juice?"

"It's juice mixed with vodka. Want some?" She offered as she looked as if she was about to pass out. Peter gently shook his head. Getting drunk was never an option for him, being responsible for saving the city and stuff like that. He could never allow himself to drink. "What, not fan of underage drinking?"

"Something like that." He nervously said, being afraid the girl would judge him or make fun of him. These days teens were drinking and smoking like crazy, it became a regular and normal thing to do. To his surprise, girl just shrugged and took one massive sip of her drink again. "Didn't you have enough of that?"

"Nope." She said in low voice as she chugged on the box again. Peter rolled his eyes at her drunken state, feeling sorry for the girl.

"Are you drinking to drown your sorrows?"

"What is this, 20 questions?" The girl snickered, but didn't seem too angry at the boy. Instead, her half closed eyes focused on something else as she took another, even bigger sip than before. This girl is gonna be vomiting all over the place, and Peter Parker felt good and like idiot at the same time since he would help her anyways. "I guess I am."

"You're trying to forget." The boy nodded in the understanding as he hugged his knees close to his chest. It was a little bit cold after all. He glanced over his company just to check if the girl was dressed well for the weather. She wore fluffy hoodie that was as big as a freaking bear, but it suited her adorably.

"Did you try it too?"

"Yeah, but not really... like this." He pointed at her drink and gave her a tiny smile. He was surprised he managed to hold their conversation for that long without stuttering and being a rambling mess. He guessed it was easier to talk to the girl once when she was drunk- since she probably wouldn't remember a thing the following day anyways. That thought kind of slapped him across the face. None of this conversation will matter to the girl. She will wake up with huge headache and the pain of loss will still be there to wake her up. He felt it too. Maybe he didn't show it after few weeks, but he felt it for a long time. Emptiness. Guilt. Anger. Every emotion mixed together.

"Does it go away?"

"No. Not really." He decided to tell the girl the truth without sugarcoating anything. Truth to be told, he would sometimes feel sad about his uncle's death even though it was long time ago.

"Oh." She sounded kind of disappointed, and that goofy smile she wore entire time was no where to be seen again. She looked down at he feet. "I just feel like no one really gets it."

Peter just hummed in response. He didn't want to talk about loss and her friend that passed. He felt like Bambi was having such a good time, even though it really wasn't real- it was just alcohol. Her mind making everything funnier and better ten times than it actually is. Talking about things she had been through these days wouldn't make Peter be able to forgive himself. It didn't feel fair.

He got so lost in his thought he didn't even realise the girl beside him chugged down the entire box, throwing it aside and then went to lie on the grass with her arms spreading around and a wide smile on her soft pink lips.

"I feel so good." She commented quietly as she closed her heavy eyes.

"You do?"

"I do."

Moments passed and two were left in enjoyable silence. Peter didn't want to leave girl's side. He felt as if she was so lonely these days, he wanted to be there for her. He remembered when he saw her friends inside having fun, singing and laughing. Bambi wasn't with them. This girl was here drinking by herself for Thor knows how long. The silence was comfortable. It wasn't awkward, no one really had to say anything. In that moment, nothing mattered. They were just two people chilling outside, enjoying each-other's presence.

The silence was interrupted as Bambi, to Peter's surprise, took out an asthma inhaler, taking few puffs. "You have asthma?"

"Yep." The girl laughed drunkenly as she stuffed that little thing back in her backpack, now in sitting position.

"Isn't like, alcohol really bad for people with asthma?"

"Wine mostly." She giggled again as she got a little closer to the boy, who gulped in response. When she was this close to him, he could see every detail of her face. Her bright red nose and cheeks, her natural long eyelashes, freckles under her eyes, lipgloss on her lips, making them shine softly, but not too glossy. Her pupils were wide like cat's at night and her eyelids were halfway down. She looked like she was in some kind of trans, everything probably spinning for her.

Peter felt himself inhale sharply, not being used to his crush being so close. Every cell in his body was screaming at him to run or to have a breakdown. The girl was looking up at him with wide smile, and he was looking down at her since she was shorter.

"You know what we should do, like now?" She whispered, and Peter internally screamed.

"Um... what?"

"We should get into the hot tub."

"Wait wha—"

Before he managed to process her idea, the girl was already on her feet, running towards the small hot tub that was in the middle of garden. The boy opened his mouth to yell out a protest or why it wasn't good idea, but Bambi was already ahead of him as she stripped down her hoodie and jumping in the tub with her clothes on.

"Shit!" He cursed as he hurriedly ran over, not knowing if the girl was that out of her mind that she would drown. She broke through the surface, her messy hair now entirely wet and slicked back. Drops of water were scattered across her entire face, some even hanging off her eyelashes. She began to laugh as she splashed the water around herself. She looked like a kid who lived in a basement for 16 years and for the first time experienced bath tub.

"Come in." She yelled at him before splashing him with water, Peter quickly dodging it and shaking his head.

"Once when you come out, you're gonna be cold." He stated at the girl. "It's almost December. "

"Please come in." She whined with big puppy eyes as her eyebrows furrowed, but the boy still shook his head as a no. Her puppy eyes turned into a frown with pouted lips, and before he knew it, her head went underwater again as well as entire body. He wasn't worried that much for her at first since he could literally hear her heartbeat, but then realisation washed over him like cold water as he heard her heartbeat getting slower and slower as less bubbles came to the surface. A) she was drunk, B) she had asthma and she was holding her breath for a very long time already.

Without thinking, Peter stripped down his shirt and jumped into water, wrapping his hands around the girl's body and pulling her to the surface. Once when her head broke out, she took a huge, kind of raspy gasp before erupting into fit of laughter.

"Are you insane?!" He yelled over her laughing, feeling the drips of water streaming down from his hair to face. She only continued to laugh as Peter got out of water, sitting on the edge of hot tub and squeezing the water out of his pants. He would never admit it out loud, but he wanted the girl to laugh all night long. It was beautiful, melodic, full of happiness she probably didn't feel for a long time. He felt good when she was laughing around him.

The girl's laughter died as she rested her head on her hands that she put at the edge as well, the rest of her body still underwater.

"Peter Parker where did ya get those abs?"

The boy blushed at the question, just realising he was standing there shirtless with water dripping down his bare chest in front of his crush. He would probably be even more embarrassed if she wasn't so drunk.

He didn't wait no longer as he grabbed girl's hands and completely pulled her out, receiving loud whines of protest. "Here." He said as he haded her his t-shirt and her hoodie she took off when she jumped. "Wear this until I find some clothes."

"Why aren't we friends, Parker?"

The question made him freeze, seeing her eyes stare at his. They were brown, that warm kind of brown mixed with honey. Brown eyed people would often complain about their eye colour since it, according to them of course, wasn't pretty. Brown wasn't like blue, green or hazel. It was... brown. It was the most common colour. It wasn't... special. What people missed was that, only brown eyes could get beautiful golden hue when rays of sun fall down on them. He came to the conclusion brown eyes were underrated.

He loved Bambi's eyes. He thought they were special. And so Peter realised the name really suited her; after all, not everyone could have those beautiful Bambi eyes...

"We probably won't be friends after this." He stated, his voice becoming dull and sad. "You probably won't remember any of this."

"What?"

"You're drunk. Like, really drunk."

"Oh."

She said as she looked down at her feet, maybe embarrassed of herself.

"I will get you some clothes." He said before hurriedly walking away. Just as he was out of her eyesight and just as smile spread on his lips out of pure happiness, he heard an explosion nearby, and every tingle of jubilation he felt disappeared in dust. Of course this had to happen to him.

He turned around at the direction when Bambi was, probably freezing in her wet pants. He hoped she was smart enough to get inside and find her friends.

***

Spider-Man swung through the streets of New York city, late November breeze hitting his face. It was night, but this city never sleeps. People were still out doing whatever, cars were rushing by and lights of various colours were shining. Peter would always get euphoric feeling when he was flying in the air- more specifically, swinging, but for him it was the same thing honestly. Not everyone could feel the rush of blood and adrenaline through the veins as you swing through the streets in an amazing speed. It was enlightening, you could feel free.

Well, it felt like that where there wasn't a psychotic villain you were supposed to chase after.

Peter was trying to figure out the villain for a while. He never really got chance to see him up close, except the one time when he actually fought him face to face but not for too long, but one thing he was sure- that thing wasn't fully human. His skin was green and his ears were pointed. He was muscular, and from the way he punched the superhero in red and blue suit, he probably had super strength too.

This time, he didn't want him to get away.

He was fast, without hesitating, following the villain, never catching a breath. He didn't even know how far did he get, he only knew he didn't want to give up.

Peter shot out a web right at the board which his green enemy was flying on, and shot out another web from his other side to the closest roof top of a building. He tried to pull himself and the Green Goblin with the hand that held the string on the rooftop, and his muscles burnt in response since villain was trying to get away, confused why his board suddenly stopped. Before the villain could think of anything that would help him escape without the board, red masked hero pulled him, using his entire strength and wincing in process, and they both stumbled on the roof top.

Without hesitating, Peter shot out a web at that flying thing, sticking it to the ground. Goblin dodged with a furious scowl on his face. "Spider-Man. Long time no see, sweetie." His voice was not deep and scary like you probably imagine it. It was actually pretty annoying. Imagine Flash Thompson's voice just a little bit deeper and not that high pitched, voice that sounds more mature than him. Something like that plus mutant voice. Peter was really bad at describing things.

"Apparently not long enough, honey." The hero gritted through his teeth, and just as he said that, the villain that was standing few feet away threw something long and sharper at him fast, Peter barely dodging it, rolling on the ground and shooting his webs at the villain. He grabbed the web by his hands and tossed his target to the side, making him crash into a wall of another building that was taller.

"That won't be enough to stop him, but good shot!" Karen, the lady in his suit said as claws got our of Green Goblin's high-tech glove, and he fell down from the building slowly, the claws he pushed against the brick wall screeching as they were slowing down his fall, sparks flying from the impact.

Peter dashed right after him, more smoothly and quietly, and both of them were on the ground at the same time.

"Stop this. Now." Spider-Man said in harsh voice, obviously trying to send a message.

The green skinned villain didn't reply, instead he threw couple of razor bats in amazing speed, Peter dodging few of them and shooting a web at one- but the last one hit him right in the shoulder, making the boy wince in pain.

"Are you gonna want this back or can I keep it?" He pull it out quickly and throwing it at the ground, but by the time he did that, the Green Goblin was already headed to the top of the building again to reach his board.

"Motherfucke—" Spider-Man cursed and got up too, following him, the villain dropping pumpkin bombs at him. He jumped from side to side trying to avoid them, but one of those had a specific smoke that spread fast, making the boy cough and his head spin. It was obvious the smoke gave off hallucinations, because from that moment, everything was spinning to Peter. The sound was repeating in his ears few times. His head was screaming in pain and his eyes were dropping.

He tried to swing himself to the top of the building, and suddenly there was at least 20 of same grin skinned villain, each of them with disgusting and absolutely annoying evil grin on his face.

"You are so weak." They all laughed as they pressed a button on their belts, their gloves suddenly lightening up in energy.

"And you are darn crazy." Peter said in weak voice, frantically turning around, trying to figure out which one of the goblins are real. Come on, Spidey sense. He thought to himself as he noticed Goblin's glove now fully powered on, and his eyes widened as it shot out a massive electricity from all directions, at least that's what was happening in his vision. He jumped up high above the electricity, flipping in air before landing behind the real Green Goblin, kicking him in the head with his foot. The Goblin tried to pull out god knows what kind of weapon but Peter was faster. He shot webs at both of his arms to stop him and pulled them hard. Villain was sent flying into the hero, and Peter kicked him with his legs again.

Just as the boy was about to strike again, the Goblin began to throw several bombs in different direction, all of them being successfully dodged by Spider-Man.

"Kaboom!" Green skinned mutants grinned before throwing a bigger bomb at the street full of people. Peter's eyes widened and he swung after the bomb, catching it mid air and throwing it far up in the air where it exploded and created massive smoke. The boy tried to espy the villain, but the smoke was too bad. Once when it disappeared, villain disappeared with it.

Peter groaned in frustration and disappointment before he heard police car sirens getting closer and louder. He rolled his eyes before swinging far away into the cold night.

***

He was slowly swinging to home, not really feeling exultation. This was second time he had a chance to stop the villain, and he failed. Again. He wished Tony or someone could help him, but in the same time, he didn't want to bother the Avengers. They fought much more powerful villains before, and once when they would see with what kind of maniac Peter had to face, they would probably call him a noob.

In his defence, the Green Goblin was powerful, and smart. He didn't know he could do that glove thing, and he guessed there was million other things he could do. He didn't understand his motives, what he wanted, and how he got that powerful.

His head hurt from all the thinking. He wanted to rest. The wound in his shoulder was pretty deep, and he could feel the blood soaking his suit.

Just as he was swinging through his neighbourhood, he noticed too familiar brown haired girl down on the street, walking in not so straight line and in soaking wet pants.

"Jesus Christ." Peter muttered to himself as he swung himself towards the girl, landing right beside her with a soft tud. "Isn't it too late and cold for you to walk alone?"

At that, the girl let out a shriek full of surprise as she jumped to the side away from the masked hero. Peter could feel her heartbeat beating rapidly, her brown eyes were wide open in shock.

"Hi!" The boy greeted kindly and waved at her, amused by her reaction.

"Spider-Boy that sounds like a girl." Bambi greeted back, laughing a little. Looking now at her, she didn't look as drunk as before. Her pupils were normal size again and she didn't look like her face was sun burnt like few hours ago. What she did look like was, tired. Very very tired. Her hair and jeans were wet and water was dripping down on the ground. She wore Peter's shirt and her very fluffy hoodie over it that wasn't zipped up completely.

"Yeah. That's me." He awkwardly said, "Listen, I never really got a chance to properly apologise to you for that night when I crashed into you." He rambled quickly before realising he was about to look stupid in girl's eyes again and he stopped himself. This time, he won't be awkward Peter Parker. This time, he is Spider-Man. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry."

"It's no biggie." The girl quickly waved him off before glancing around herself, not really knowing what she was supposed to say.

"Do you want me to... um... I don't know, walk you home? It's pretty late." He offered after short period of time, hoping the girl wouldn't brush him off.

"I don't want to bother you. You probably have more important hero stuff to do then keeping an eye on me." She shrugged her shoulders, looking rather sad.

"No no, it's not problem at all! I was heading home actually."  Peter noticed the girl's brown eyes glancing over his body as he spoke, and her eyes widened as they landed at his wound.

"Well then I suppose you can join me." She smiled kindly at him and began to walk, excepting the hero to follow along. And he did, being glad the mask was covering his stupid smile that was plastered on his face.

"Don't you have any friends?" He asked, trying to keep up the conversation. He had to pretend he didn't know single thing about this girl.

"I do. They stayed at the party I was at."

This made Peter kind of mad. Of course Bambi Moody wasn't Gwen's, MJ's nor Harry's responsibility, but still. The girl was madly drunk, soaking wet and walking home alone at 3 a.m. America is really dangerous to live in. The crime here was high. You never know what kind of lunatic was hiding in a corner, waiting
to rob you or worse. There were many insane people in this country. The Green Goblin was one of them. He wondered how could her friends let her go alone when just a few weeks ago she almost died in explosion.

"Why did they let you off alone?" He asked angrily, walking with the same pace as the girl beside him.

"They don't know I left."

Oh.

Well that made much more sense.

They didn't talk much as they walked in silence. But it was comfortable though. Peter felt better when he knew he was doing something good even after he failed at catching the villain. They didn't walk for too long since Bambi passed more than half of the way alone already, but it didn't matter. He was doing a good thing. He was making up to her. He was keeping her safe.

When they reached her house and when Peter excepted her to tell him her goodbye or something like that, she turned around and pointed at the second floor of the house where was a little balcony.

"Wait me up there."

Wait, what.

This took Peter by surprise, and not questioning the shorter girl, he just nodded and gracefully and sneakily as cat jumped at the wall of the house, his legs and fingers sticking to it, and then jumped once again at the balcony meanwhile the girl entered through the front door.

He had never been at Bambi's house. Sure, he walked her home couple of times but he never really entered it. Not as if they were that good friends.

He peeked through the window's glass door, but her room was dark and he was using his spider vision to get s better look of it.

It was small, and comfortable.

"Creepy much?" Karen spoke up in his suit.

"Karen! Now you speak up, huh? Where were you when that green bitch was about to blast me off?"

"Language, Peter."

"Who are you talking to?" Peter flinched in surprise as Bambi opened the door for him, looking at him with perplexed gaze.

"Ughhh... the lady in my suit." He replied truthfully. He didn't want her to think he was crazy or something.

"Lady in your suit?" Bambi repeated, now even more confused than before. She entered the balcony with two mugs in her hands. With one leg she carefully and not completely closed the door, handing the hero one mug. Peter glanced down at it and accepted it. When his hands touched it, it was warm and it smelt so good. It was tea.

"Yeah. Just one of the features of this suit Mr. Stark made."

"Tony Stark made you that suit? That is awesome." She was looking at it in awe. "Can I touch it?"

"Ugh... sure?"

The girl gently pressed one palm against his chest, her fingers feeling the red and blue fabric. Her hand was surprisingly warm, and it felt nice. It didn't feel like electricity or fireworks as all books described that moment when character's crush touches them. It just felt... nice. She removed hand shortly after. "I excepted it to be... softer. Are you cold in that thing?"

"No, not too much." He replied, smiling. Then he realised the girl couldn't see his smile and he frowned. His gaze fell down at her pants, realising she changed in My Little Pony pyjamas, but kept his shirt on. She looked adorable because his shirt was little too big for her and was hanging awkwardly off her. He wondered why she didn't take it off. Maybe she was too lazy.

"You work with the Avengers often?"

"Sometimes." That was a lie. The only time he faced all of them except Thor, was when he participated in the Civil War. Ever since then, he had only seen Tony and Steve Rogers in the movies the school would play for them.

He pulled his mask upwards a little only to reveal his mouth and nose, and took a sip of his tea. It was chamomile that was good for relaxation and sleep. No wonder she picked that one. The hot liquid warmed up his insides as it went down his throat.

"How is it like? Working with Iron-Man?"

"It's nice, except all the pressure I feel. I don't want to disappoint him like last year."

"That thing with a ship?"

"Yeah, that thing with a ship."

Tony Stark was like a father figure to Peter. Sure, he was sometimes harsh and tough and had a hard time showing affection, but deep down the boy knew he cared about him. He gave him second chance even after he messed up badly, and even offered him to become an Avenger with shiny metal suit that looked absolutely awesome. Maybe it was stupid Peter saw him like some kind of father because Mr. Stark definitely didn't see him as his son. He was sure in it.

"You are hurt." She pointed at his wound. "How did you get that?"

"The Green Goblin threw razor bats at me."

"Who threw a what at you?"

"Nevermind." He laughed, taking a sip of his tea.

"I can fix you up if you want." She offered and Peter's face boiled up.

"Don't need to, I will do it at home." He shrugged it off, deciding it was not a good idea to strip down in front of the girl that wasn't that drunk anymore as few hours ago. It hits differently.

It was weird because Peter's world was dangerous, full of life. He chased after the bad guys, fought the crime, sometimes hanged out with Tony Stark, had superpowers, was responsible for saving lives... and Bambi Moody was regular girl. With no physical fights in her life, with no trying to keep her identity secret, with no rush of adrenaline. He had a great power and responsibility, she had a normal life with no weight on her shoulder. Well, when you think about it, she actually had a weight on her shoulders that probably kept her awake at night- her best friend died.

Peter wanted Spider-Man to befriend Bambi Moody more than anything else, but at the same time he didn't want to drag her into his world and she was too innocent to see it's ugly side. Deaths, pressure, villains that want to commit mass murder, pain, blood, responsibility. Besides, the girl was already in pain.

That's probably why he would feel guilty if the girl cleans his wounds.

"Do you live with the Avengers?"

"No. I live with..." my Aunt. "... my family."

"You are not over 18, huh?" She asked as she gazed into his white goggles.

"I can't tell you that." He said sympathetically. He had to make sure everything about him, about Spider-Man, stayed in secret. Ned and Aunt May accidentally found out, and he felt as if that was enough. For now.

"I feel like you are. You sound young."

"No I do not!" He exclaimed, trying to make his voice sound a little deeper, making the girl beside him laugh.

"I'm glad I talked to you, Spider-Man." She said in genuine tone once when her laughter died. "Thank you for walking me home. Feel free to stop by whenever you want to drink some tea with me again."

It made Peter's heart warm. He knew he didn't really have any reason to be happy since she was inviting Spider-Man, and not the guy she see in school, and that was a huge difference. Bambi would probably like his hero side more than him.

"I'm glad too."
