"Gimmie a light, Pony, will ya?"

You looked over at Ponyboy who was randomly shooting the straw out of its wrapper with his mouth. You rolled your hazel eyes at his childish action. You shifted your attention to Johnny to see that he was doing the exact same thing, but Johnny was trying to be more subtle about it.

"Pony, quit messin' around and give me a light," Dallas demanded, snapping his fingers at Ponyboy. "I'm gettin' real impatient over here."

"Dally, take a chill pill," You chimed in, picking up your straw. You wanted to try out what your best friend was doing. "Plus, you told me you were going to at least try to stop smoking."

"Come on little sis, it's like you don't even know me," Dallas called out, tucking his pack of cigarettes back into his side pocket. "But for you, I'll do anything."

You smiled, thanking Dallas. You never really liked it whenever he smoked around you. It just smelled nasty. The waitress was getting irritated with your buddies shooting straw wrappers carelessly that it got to the point where she kicked you all out. Dallas tried to smooth talk his way into staying, but the waitress was clearly done with everyone's crap that she received that day. You briefly fixed your hair that was always in a high ponytail. You also usually wore casual jeans and a casual t-shirt. It was an attire that Ponyboy liked on you.

"You know, we might have gotten kicked out, but we can just head over to my place," Ponyboy proposed, heading the direction of his house. "I don't suppose Soda is home yet, but Darry might be."

You've never met Sodapop. From all the times that you've hung out with Ponyboy and the gang, Sodapop was always out of the picture. Ponyboy would say he's either working or out on a date with a dame. He sounded like quite the player, but you have yet to meet him.

On the other hand, you've met Darrel. For someone who isn't related to him, Darrel treats you like you're his little sister. You probably thought it was because you were Ponyboy's best friend. Darrel treated you like family, which also meant that he was extremely overprotective. You didn't mind it though, he was sweet to you.

"Darry we're home!" Ponyboy called out as he shoved the door open. "Is there any leftover chocolate cake?"

Ponyboy ditched the group and ran into the kitchen. You noticed that the rest of the gang were present. They all poked their heads around to corner and smiled at the sight of you. They all came out from the behind the corner and walked up to you, talking all at once. You didn't know who was saying what, but it was normal.

The gang casually claimed you as one of the boys. They treated you like one of the boys, which was something you wanted. It meant a lot to you because it just meant that the gang was comfortable with you. It was like you had a bunch of older brothers. Although they were overprotective at times, you still loved them all the same.

"Oh, hey Soda! You're home early."

"Yeah, they cancelled work today apparently," You overheard the unfamiliar voice. You perked up. You've never met Sodapop. You quickly rushed around the corner. "But at the same time I—"

Sodapop froze as he saw you peering around the corner. Your eyes widened as well as his when you both met each other's eyes. You immediately looked away, blushing crazily. You didn't know what that was, but it got your heart racing. You never knew how attractive Sodapop was going to be.

No wonder he went on so many dates.

"Have you never met Lilly?" Ponyboy asked, looking the direction of where you were standing. Sodapop slowly shook his head. "Well, let's go introduce you to her."

Your heart picked up its pace as you saw Sodapop now approaching you with Ponyboy beside him. You already didn't know what to say. You could feel your mouth fall dry as Sodapop greeted you. You opened your mouth, but nothing came out. You couldn't understand what was happening.

You were one of the boys. You knew how to talk to boys. Why was it so hard to talk to Sodapop? Could it be that you were genuinely nervous around him? It was probably because you liked him. Heck, you knew it was because you liked him. Sodapop was overly handsome.

"Okay? Apparently Lilly forgot how to speak," Ponyboy teased, glaring at you in confusing. "But that's typical for Sodapop. It's been the same reaction as many other girls."

"Well, I would be actin' the same around her," Sodapop claimed, putting out his hand. "It's nice to meet you Lilly."

The way he said your name sent butterflies through your stomach. You wanted to hear him say it a thousand times after that experience. You shook his hand and smiled. You were still speechless.

"How 'bout you join me outside on the porch Lilly?" Sodapop asked, motioning his head toward the front door. "We could chat for a bit. Y'know, I want to get to know Pony's best friend."

You nodded your head. Surprisingly, he kept his grip on your hand and just led you outside hand in hand on the way out. Ponyboy was already suspicious with his older brother and his best friend holding hands, but he was distracted as Steve announced that there was chocolate cake.

As you made it out on the porch, you sat down beside Sodapop. Sodapop leaned back on his hands and looked out into the beautiful sight of nature. He started to ask you questions about yourself, and you just repeated the same questions to him. He was a charming man. You were attracted to him, and it seemed like Sodapop genuinely liked you too!

You knew that you were getting somewhere because at the end of the conversation, he finally built enough courage to ask you out on a date.

"I know this is crazy because we just barely met," Sodapop started, lowering his eyes. "But you just seem like a really cool girl Lilly. I was just wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?"

"Yes, I would like that a lot Sodapop."

"Great! I'll pick you up around seven, how does that sound?"

"Amazing."

Two weeks have passed by, and from the first date, Sodapop liked you so much, he kept asking you on more and more dates. At first, Ponyboy didn't really like it, but when he saw how genuinely happy both of you were together, he let it be. The thing was, Dallas wasn't aware of you dating Sodapop.

You knew that if Dallas found out, he wouldn't be very happy. Dallas hates it when you date other boys. So if ever figured out that you were dating one of his friends, you knew that his reaction wasn't going to be good.

Although you and Sodapop have been dating for a while, there still hasn't been a kiss quite yet. You and Sodapop have cuddled, embraced one another, but the your lips have never touched him. You didn't know if it was because he didn't want to, or maybe he was just taking it slow. Either way, you didn't want to rush it.

You knew Sodapop, and you knew that it would come when he wants it to come. Currently, you were sitting in a booth with him out on another date with him. Sodapop had ordered a milkshake and two straws. You knew what that meant, and you loved it. You loved sharing milkshakes with Sodapop.

Even though Sodapop usually stole half the milkshake, you didn't mind. You knew that he loved them.

"You know Lilly, we've been on lots of dates," Sodapop commented, mixing up the milkshake with his straw. His soft brown eyes swung up to meet with yours. "I think that it's time."

You raised an eyebrow. You didn't know what that meant, but you hoped that it didn't mean that it was time to tell your big brother. You still believed that Dallas wouldn't take the news very happily. You opened your mouth to ask for clarification, Sodapop moved the milkshake to the side.

You slowly fell silent as you saw him leaning across the table. Your heart started rapidly beating. It was coming. The kiss. You closed your eyes as you felt his lips gently press upon yours. Your lips moved in sync with his as he began the kiss. Sodapop deepened it as his hand snaked its way up the side of your face.

You couldn't believe it. You were kissing Sodapop. It was an honest dream come true.

"LILLY?! IS THAT YOU?!" The familiar voice bellowed. Your eyes widened. You immediately broke the kiss and snapped your head to the side, seeing Dallas and the gang standing at the front door of the restaurant. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

"Dally, I can explain."

"You sure as hell better!" Dallas shouted, now making an entire scene for the random strangers. "Tell me why I just walked in on my baby sister practically making out with my buddy?"

"I uh...Well...Man, I really didn't want you to find out this way Dally."

"Well unfortunately for you, I did find out this way," Dallas responded, sitting down beside you. He scowled at Sodapop. "You break Lilly's heart, I will break your pretty face. You hear that Soda?"

"Loud and clear Dal."
