Middle School. Specially, Middle school in America. People could write dozens and dozens of things about how middle school is the best place ever! It's where you can grow and be the person you want to be.

Others will tell you that middle school is hell incarnate with a lot of spice and spite on the side, not counting the grueling schoolwork of course. But if you ask for my opinion, middle school is the MOST boring place on earth.

Let's be totally honest with ourselves, all the drama that goes on in school is because some dummy does something, someone else sees it and then the story gets retold and retwisted, over and over again.

It's like, so annoying. Then again, I would know about how dumb school rumors are, because I'd seem to be at the center point of a certain rumor.

I was at my locker, trying to get my stuff out for my math class, even though Ms. Higley was kind of a pain in the ass, math was something I was pretty good at. As I grabbed my last math book, someone kissed me on the cheek and chuckled.

I smiled as I whipped around to see Andrew, "Hey babe." He grinned, showing off his perfect pearly whites! Ooh, he was fine!
"Hi, baby!" I smiled and kissed him on the cheek, "How are you?"

"I'm alright, how about you?" He asked as he put his arm around my shoulder, I giggled and smiled, "I'm fine, I can't wait for the sixth, you know!"

"Mm?" He asked, "What do you mean?"

"Uh, our anniversary?" I pointed out, "It's coming up soon~"

"Oh, right! Yeah, I knew that, duh. I was just messing, you know?" He chuckled as he looked away, I rolled my eyes and walked with Andrew, as we did so, I could feel a lot of girls looking at me like I was scum of the earth, then again, when you're with the hot popular guy in school, those kinds of looks are natural.

As we walked, I almost tripped on someone's foot and nearly dropped all of my stuff, people chuckled like the jerks they were, Andrew helped me picked up my stuff, which was I was really thankful for, it's nice to have a guy that isn't a piece of garbage.

The crappy part about my math class is that I'm forced to be in the back, around big, tall kids who can't seem to move out of the way, so I always have to lean my head out to even see the board! Thank God that school's almost up soon, when that happens, I'll be in high school and HOPEFULLY, the teachers won't be in the backseat, just because they can!

On the bright side, the one thing I actually like about this class was that I managed to have one of my friends, Tracey sitting right next to me. Before I even sat down in my seat, I saw her reading something, but when she looked up, she quickly put her phone away and glanced to her right.

"Umm, are you okay?" I asked her, Tracey shot her head at me and glared, she scoffed, "Yes, I'm fine, thank you." She rolled her eyes at me before scoffing and facing the front of the board, even though all she could see was the back of someone else's blue shirt.

I shrugged and stuck my neck out to take down some notes of course, even if the half of the class was goofing off, I still needed to at least have some good notes to take before the fleeting end of the school year, sounds stupid, but I don't mess around with my grades, like ever!

After class, Andrew rushed off ahead of me, saying something about he really needed to do something, He gave me a quick kiss on my forehead and rushed off to who knows where, boys can be a total mystery sometimes.

As I walked down the hallways, I observed all the people around the lockers, the typical jocks types, cheerleaders, "Freaks and weirdos" and then your average, basic kids with okay reputations, nerds, that kind of stuff.

I walked by, just trying to make sure that I didn't really draw any attention to myself, which wasn't as hard as I thought it could be, I glanced up and saw Chase right there, opening her locker and grabbing her backpack.

She looked over at me and waved her hand at me, "Hey."

"Hey, Chase, what's up?" I smiled, Chase shrugged and got on her phone quickly. "Nothing much, I'm trying to get to class early to see Mckayla to talk about stuff, that's all."

"Oh, yeah, yeah..." I nodded my head, "Oh, if you do see her, can you tell her thanks?"

Chase raised an eyebrow at me, "Thanks for what?"

"Uh, for the fur jacket she gave to me on my birthday, it totally rocks." I smiled, Chase gave me a shrug and walked away as I watched her back, I turn around and go the other way to my next class, just ignoring all of the weird glances people gave me as I passed them by, I don't know what's all about, but ain't nothing I can do about it.

After a while, Lunch rolled around. Me, Andrew, Tracey and Chase were all sitting at our table, eating and talking about stuff planned for summer, the cafe was what you usually expected to be like, people sitting with their friends, things being loud and others just being on their phone for the time passing.

Some of the guys that were next to my table were talking about Mckayla again, saying stuff like "Bro, she's so fine! I wanna be with her so bad," or "She don't got a boyfriend, does she?"

Stuff like that didn't really surprise me, as Mckayla was one of the cool girls in school. Coincidently, that's when she walked in.

As she passed by, guys and girls alike stare at her with all the awe in the world, she had brown skin, green eyes and wavy, shaggy, spiky, chestnut hair. her eyeliner was sharp, her jeans were tight, and her black combat boots were on point.

"Hey Andrew, hey guys." She smiled as she sat down at our table, "What's going on?"

"Oh, nothing! We were just waiting for you, Mckayla." Tracey sighed happily, "You look amazing today!"

"Yeah, you look good." I replied. Mckayla smirked as she looked at me, "Well, I don't try and put in a lot of effort to look good, it's kind of natural for me."

"Ah, yeah." I nodded and drank my soda, Mckayla then turned her attention to Andrew and smiled, "So, how are you guys doing? Still going on to 4 months?"

"Yep." Andrew nodded his head, "You know how I am; we're ride or die." Andrew smiled as he put his arm around my shoulder again, Mckayla rolled her eyes and smirked again, "Aw, you two. that's... cute I guess." She shrugged.

I shrugged as I kept on eating, Mckayla could be like that sometimes, but she doesn't mean it like that, she's been my best friend ever since 3rd grade, so sometimes it's best to let some of those things slide, even if it can be a bit uncomfortable.

As we ate, Mckayla changed her spot and sat down next to me for whatever reason, she looked at me and then back at Andrew again before she looked at me for the final time and said, "Damn, you're really lucky, you know that?"

"About what?"

"You got the hottest guy in school, that's a good accomplishment for you." Mckayla shrugged as she rested her arm on her table, I smiled and said, "Uh, thanks." and finished up the last piece of my food. Mckayla's words were a little weird, but to be fair, Mckayla has always been a bit eccentric since we were kids, so there's no need for concern about anything.

Like the sweetheart he was, Andrew walked me home, we were holding hands, and he was on his phone, texting someone, I glanced at his phone screen for like two seconds before he placed his phone into his hoodie.

I looked up and saw my house, a big brick house that was two stories tall with two garages and a few plants around the house, Andrew kissed me on the check and grinned at me. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Totally..." I smiled, he shot me finger-guns and walked down the street as sweet, sweet butterflies flutter in my stomach! God, Andrew has to be the coolest guy! I don't know why, but I'm glad he's with me.

I rushed to the door, got inside, took off my shoes and ran upstairs to lie on the bed and scream with total joy! Maybe it could be too soon and all, but I can't help but say I love him, like, in a cool rom-com love way, where he comes to me with big bunches of flowers and chocolate and pump his fists in the air to show that he got the girl!

Which is me, of course!

After calming down and trying to relax my smile muscles, it was time to get to work on other stuff, like cleaning my room for example, which really wasn't something I didn't really mind. I liked cleaning my room, usually because I find stuff that I tend to misplace easily.

Like finding 5 dollars for example, it was always a nice treasure hunt of sorts. As I was cleaning around the left side of my bed, I pop open my drawer to see if there was anything I could get rid of, like loose change, missing sock, stuff like that.

But what I found wasn't 5 cents, a loose sock or even a missing pen that would randomly show up from time to time, it was a diary and not just any kind of diary.

A big, pastel pink diary cover with big pearls around it and a large bow with a heart-shaped jewel at the front of the cover. It was super cute, and really adorable! But even then, I just knew that Mckayla, Tracey, Chase and probably, Andrew would mock me for having a diary like this, but, it's not the worst thing I'd ever had before.

I peaked in the drawer again and saw an envelope that wasn't open yet, I picked it up and read the back, which said "To Rosetta, From McKayla. Happy Birthday, dork. 8/23/15"

I opened up the envelope and read the long joke letter that Mckayla wrote to me, and yeah, it sure was something else.

Dear Rosetta.

"Hey dude, happy birthday and all! I just wanted to give you this very special and sweet gift, totally perfect for a little softie like yourself, hope you enjoy it!"

-From Mckayla."

I looked at the diary and chuckled; Of course, Mckayla would send something like this to me as a joke, it seems totally on brand for her. Oh well, even if it was still a joke, I still like it anyway.

I grabbed a pen from the top of my desk and placed my point and started to write, it could be good to get some introduction out of the way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Dear Diary, ~

~Uh, it's kind of weird in my opinion to talk to a diary like it's a person, but since we're here, we're here. So... hi? Sorry about putting you in my drawer for the past few months. I'm shocked that you didn't have anything tore off, it sure shows how good I am at keeping stuff organized, even if I forget, hah. ~

~But it's nice to be writing in you, Diary. My name's Rosetta Hazel. I'm happy to use you for venting reasons or whatever. :)~

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I left my room again and walked past Layla's room, I peaked in and saw Layla typing away at her computer, choosing every single key perfectly. "Hey Layla." I said, my eyes began wandering to the side of her room, pictures of her from all the times she graduated, beneath the photos were some bookshelves and to the back, and some other school clutter around.

Layla glanced up from her computer and smiled at me, "Oh, hey Rose, what's up?"

"Nothing much, I'm just bored, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Just some last-minute homework that my teacher assigned." Layla groaned, "Miss Morse is a real pain in the ass, that's for sure."

"Huh, that's not good..." I chuckled, "Well, I'll let you be! Good luck."

"Thanks! And if you see Dakota, tell her to stop using my computer to watch "hot basketball players!" She's ruining my algorithm." Layla shouted down the hallway.

I giggled and walked down the stairs, I passed by my kitchen and peaked outside of the window, Dakota was there, shooting hoops and doing push-ups from time to time. I walked outside and watched her for a little bit, sports never made much sense to me. All of this hype and excitement about a ball was so strange, but I guess there wasn't anything I could do about it.

As I walked closer to Dakota, she was in the middle of her 10'000 push up or something when she picked up her head and saw me. "Oh, hey Rose! What's up?"

"Nothing much, how are you?"

"Awesome! Nothing like some push-ups to help my basketball game!" Dakota grins as she pumps her fist in the air.

Even though I didn't understand the correlation between push-ups and basketball, I nodded my head and smiled, even though it probably seemed forced to Dakota and someone else with super sight.

"Okay. Well, I came out here to tell you something, Layla wanted me to tell you to not use her computer to watch basketball guys online, because it's messing up her algorithm." I blurted out.

Dakota looked at me, looked to the side of her and rubbed her neck awkwardly. "Oh, that. Alright, alright, I'll yield. Only if she puts on a stronger password."

Dakota grinned as she grabbed her basketball again, she bounced the ball against the pavement, twisted around a bit and aimed the ball right into the hoop, getting it in.

I shrugged and smiled as I walked back inside, leaving Dakota back to her devices, I stood in the kitchen, looking around for a bit until I decided to whip up something really sweet to eat, but before I could do that, Mom burst through the phone, talking to someone on the phone.

"Uh-huh, we can't do that. Last time we let Bryan look over those money files, he got coffee on them! Girl, I wish I was joking." Mom groaned as she began to take off her heels, my eyes watched her walk past me, still chatting away on her phone as she grabbed her "Best Mom in The World" Mug and poured herself a cup of coffee.

"Uh-huh, uh-huh, I can do that, thank you. Bye!" Mom hung up the phone and sighed, she looked over at me and took a step back. "Honey! My god, you scared me..." She chuckled, "How was school?" Her warm, dark brown eyes shifted towards me.

"Good, how was work?"

"Eh, it's work." Mom chuckled, "Your mother might end with an entire hair of grey at this rate." I raised an eyebrow as I watched my mom fixing up her hair and removing her makeup, even as I watched her, I thought back to how some people keep telling me that I look like my mom as the days pass by.

Deep dark skin, long black hair, and big lips, but the thing that could set us apart was that my mom had her hair in long, wavy, locs while I have a silk press done to my hair. I'd been told that it looks better that way.

Before I could say anything else, Mom's phone began going off again, she picked it up and kissed me on the forehead before marching up the stairs and listened to whoever was on the phone. Then it was just me again in the living room. I put back on my sneakers and went outside again to check the mailbox, since mom must have been a bit busy to notice anything else.

As I got the mail out of the slot, I turned my head to see Mckayla, Tracey and Chase walking down the sidewalk together, laughing and giggling about something, so I walked up to them, which caused them to stop laughing and glance at me.

"Oh, hey Rose, what's up?" Mckayla asked.

"Just getting the mail, what about you guys?"

"Oh, we're just going somewhere. Just passing by." Mckayla grins, I nodded my head, "Cool, uh, can I come?"

"Oh! Uh, no you can't, it's kind of a three-girl thing, so..." Mckayla winced, I sighed and nodded my head again, "Oh. Well, that's okay, I'll see you at school tomorrow?"

"Yep." Mckayla nodded her head as Tracey and Chase gave me thumbs up and walked past me. They began laughing about something else, which made me a little sad that I couldn't join them, but you can't be included in everything, unfortunately...

~End~

(Super Wicked/ME: And that's it! Thanks for checking the Prep's diary out! Stay tuned for more! Question: What did you think of the characters?")
