Memory Lane part.2
(Your P.O.V)
As I ckntinue to walk I get a whiff of what smells like.. bacon and pancakes? I find yet another bench with a plate on it. I read the note on the plate aloud.
"'Do you have a crush?' 'Yea, actually yea I do'" I read. I feel a little tear prick my eye. He really does remember everything. I grab the note and fold it into my pocket. "Just keep moving (Y-n)." I whisper to myself while wiping the tear.
I walk along just minding my own business till I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me. Before I could scream I hear a soft "found you".
"Even the hide and seek?" I ask Mark.
"Even the hide and seek." He repeats. I smile softly and close my eyes. But just as fast as those arms wrapped around me, they were gone. I sigh knowing he probably ran off to go fulfill. I continue on. I marvel at the photographs on the ground. I see one that makes me stop though. My dad. He's... there. Smiling. In the picture I took. I cover my mouth waiting for the tears. They never come. I force my self to stop. I can't break down over my past. I'll never be able to move on. I remove my hand and straighten my self a little more. I huff and keep going, pushing my self past the photo. I look at another pile of photos that were set on a bench. These must be important.
"Omg..." I look at these pictures. They're from the first fair Mark took me to. He must of taken them. They all are different. He took one of me smiling with the girls that we met. He took one of our hands intertwined. He is so sneaky. I smile a little bit wider at this one. The one with me holding the big penguin he got me. I set that one aside and the next one under neath it is of me glaring at the girl who gave me it. Laura, I think? I laugh out loud at that one. I go through the rest and set them all back down. I keep walking down this apparently never ending path. I look to my right and see a bench painted in different shades of red and pink. There are little words in black on the bottom part of the bench. They read "blush meter". Wow. They got this much paint for this. I shake my head and giggle. I have been all these colors before. I walk EVEN MORE and spot a very familiar face sitting on a bench. I walk up to her and smile.
"Victoria." I greet still smiling.
"(Y-n)." She says back. She looks up with hopeful eyes.
"It's in the past. I forgive you." I say. She stands up and gives me a quick hug.
"They're all waiting at the end. But take your time." She says letting go. I walk away.
"They?" I say to myself. How many people are at the end? Everyone? I keep going till I see a big red circle around a single picture on the ground. It's the picture of the shed. I sigh and keep walking. Don't really want to reminisce that. I keep walking past all this weird demon shit they laid out. Assholes. I stop at a very oddly placed bench. It's not on the sides of the path. It's directly in the middle. It has a big box on it and a letter beside it. I grab the box first and open it to be greeted with a bear. It's one of those weird bears that have a voice in them. Like someone records their voice and the bear can repeat it back. I press the paw and the message starts. I hear a faint sigh and a cough.
"(Y-n), if you really are getting this... I'm gone," Dad? "I'll try to make this short. You know how I said that promise. You've probably done it already but hey, that's my girl. I just want you to have this so you'll always have me with you. Always."
I cry a little and put the bear back down carefully in the box. I grab the letter and open it with shaky hands.
Hi, love. I'm always here. In your heart and in your mind. Knowing you, you probably have the best boy on your arm. And if you don't I'll tell god himself to beat his ass for me. Ha ha, anyway. I love you. Never forget that. Keep mom safe for me, yea? I love you so much. Oh and don't let the dog get ahold of that bear!
I smile and chuckle, letting my tears drip down onto the letter. I put it back in its envelope and close it up once again. I put it on top of the bear box and get up slowly. We're cleaning up after I finish the trail so I'll just leave it here. I straighten my dress and keep walking.
