39. Awaited Answers and Stupid Virgins
CHAPTER 39
Awaited Answers and Stupid Virgins
"Get up, you stupid virgin!" I shouted, opening Blake's room.
"Wake up!" I shouted before climbing on him and straddling his waist.
"I will burn all your shoes if you don't get up now!" I said but he still didn't wake up.
"Right, you don't care about shoes that much." I mumbled and I sighed in defeat, slumping my body.
A smile appeared on my lip when I heard a sound escape from his mouth.
"Are you awake?" I asked and he groaned before grabbing my waist and rocking me back and forth on him.
"I'm not humping you, idiot!" I said, slapping on his shoulder before getting off him and falling on to the bed beside.
Blake slowly opened his eyes and looked at me before scanning my body up and down.
"You're not naked." He said with a frown and I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, it was just a dream." He sighed sadly and I rolled my eyes before getting up.
"Go take a shower and get dressed. We have to be at your house in an hour." I said.
"I don't want to go." He grumbled.
"Blake, you have to. After this morning, you don't have to worry about it ever again." I said.
"Okay", he said before getting up from the bed. He placed a kiss on my forehead and then walked into the bathroom.
I smiled at is retrieving figure before getting up and going to my room to get dressed.
After a while, I was brushing my hair when I saw Blake's figure behind me through my mirror, making a smile appear on my lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"You look beautiful." He said, looking at me though the mirror.
"I know right. This dress is great on me." I said.
"It's not just the dress." He said huskily and smiled at me before kissing my cheek. His lips left my cheek but his face still hovered over mine, letting me feel his warm breath on my face. I took a deep breath before slowly turning to him, allowing his eyes to bore into mine, giving me butterflies in my stomach that I did not want to feel. He moved his face closer to mine until our noses were touching.
"Blake, we need to leave." I whispered and he hummed in response, slowly inching his lips towards mine.
"Blake!" I called, snapping him out of the trance.
"Okay, let's go." He sighed before he slowly pulled away from me and lent me his hand. I smiled, taking it and we walked out of the house together before entering his car. He started the car, driving away from my house and within a few minutes, we were at his.
Once we reached his place, he got out of the car and stared at his house hesitantly. I walked over to him and took his hands in mine, making a smile appear on his lips.
As soon as we entered, we saw Claire sitting on the couch and her face lit up on seeing Blake. He gave her a small smile before turning to me awkwardly, making me roll my eyes.
"You two talk. I'll be in your room." I told Blake.
I placed a kiss in Blake's cheek and gave Claire a small hug before walking upstairs and entering Blake's bedroom.
I closed the door behind me and walked towards his bed before plopping down on it and looking around.
A smile appeared on my face on seeing the picture kept on his side table of Blake and me back when we were in middle school.
Taking it, I fell on the bed with the picture in my hand and smiled, looking at it. It was taken on a trip to Switzerland that I went on with Blake's family. Him and I had our arms wrapped around each other with our cheeks pressed together, trying to find the slightest of warmth in the harsh December weather. Nevertheless, we still had bright smiles on our faces
I rested the picture on my chest and closed my eyes, having my mind immediately fill up with Blake.
I probably did love him back then. He has always meant everything to me. All I've ever wanted to do, even back then was to be with him, to see him, to talk to him, to laugh, smile and just simply spend time with him.
The only difference between now and then is that everything was much simpler when we younger. I never worried so much about him.
But now, every single day, I feel like he's slipping away from me and I can't help but wish that it could all go back to the way it used to be. Sure, we were just friends back then. But at least I knew that I had him all to myself. I just wanted to be able to be with him without worrying that I was going to lose him.
I have no idea how long I lied still on the bed until I heard the door open before Blake entered, closing the door behind him.
"Did you two settle things?" I asked and he nodded before walking over to me. He climbed on the bed and lied down next to me before taking the photo off my hand.
"You look so adorable in this." He a chuckled.
"I know." I said.
"And me?" He asked.
"Not so much." I replied and he laughed before turning to me.
"So, hot then?" He asked.
"Nope", I said.
"Sexy?" He asked.
"That twelve-year-old kid? Hell no!" I said and he let out a laugh before keeping the photo aside and wrapping his arms around me.
"Thank you." He said.
"For the amazing compliments?" I teased.
"No, for coming here with me and for taking my mind off things." He said.
I smiled at him before bringing my hand up and softly caressing his cheek, making him lean into my touch.
"You are adorable. Hot and sexy too." I said and he chuckled before placing a kiss on my forehead.
He pulled away and looked back to my face, giving me a soft smile. His eyes searched into mine and his smile dropped as he averted his gaze to my lips.
My heart beat started racing as he inched closer to me, ever so slowly until his lips brushed against mine.
"Blake!" We both pulled away from each in a haste on hearing Claire's voice before Blake got up from the bed and walked towards the door. I sat up straight as he opened the door.
"Your dad is here. We're going to open the results now." She said and he took a deep breath before nodding.
Claire walked away from the door and he closed it before turning to me.
"Are you coming?" He asked.
"No, I don't think I should be there." I said before getting off the bed and walking towards him.
"But I don't want to be there without you." He pouted and I cupped his face in my hands.
"Blake, relax. It's just your mom and dad. You don't have to be so tensed."
"But what if he's not my dad?" He asked.
"Blake, I know Marc. No matter what the results says, he'll still be your dad." I assured and he smiled at me.
He slowly leaned in and placed a short kiss on my lips before looking at me.
"I needed that." He said and I smiled at him.
"Now, go!" I ordered and he chuckled before walking out the door.
I aimlessly walked around his room for the next few minutes, taking in all the details of the place before the door was thrust open.
I turned around with a smile to face Blake who closed the door behind him before walking over to me and pulling me into a tight hug.
"So, do I get my four pairs of shoes?" I asked him.
He pulled away from me and grabbed my face in his hands.
"I'm in a good mood, so I'll get you five." He said and a huge grin appeared on my face.
"Six", I said and he laughed.
"I guess I'll allow six. But don't ask for more. I don't have the patience to pick out more than six pairs of shoes." He said, making me chuckle.
"Let's go downstairs." He said, "My parents want us there for breakfast."
I nodded before grabbing his hand in mine and opened the door. We walked downstairs before entering the living room where Marc sat, waiting for us.
"Congratulations on being a dad, Marc!" I exclaimed, "I never got to wish you eighteen years ago."
Marc let out a laugh, "And I'm happy for my baby boy." He said.
"Don't ever call me that again." Blake warned, making Marc laugh again.
"Where's Claire?" I asked.
"In the kitchen." Marc replied, "She wanted to make breakfast for the one day that her son is actually home." He said, giving Blake a pointed look.
I laughed before walking into the kitchen where Claire stood, preparing the food.
"It smells amazing in here." I praised and she smiled at me before turning back to the food.
"I tried to teach Blake how to cook. I wonder if he actually learned it." She said.
"Oh, trust me, he didn't. My poor kitchen had to face the tortures." I said and she chuckled.
She ordered two maids to set up the table before gesturing me to follow her out and walking to the dining room.
"Where's Blake?" I asked, seeing him missing on the table.
"There's someone at the door. He went to get it." Marc said.
"Could you go check on him?" Claire asked and I nodded before walking towards the door.
I stopped on my tracks when I heard a familiar voice on the other side.
"I got you a cake." I heard Terra's faint voice, "I made it."
I peeped out the door and caught a faint blush on her cheek.
"Thank you." Blake said, taking a box from her.
"The last time I called, uhhh..... you said that the results came out today." She said and I felt my heart drop down to my stomach.
"Yeah, it did. It's positive." He said with smile appeared on his lips and I clenched my fists as my eyes slowly started to water.
"That's great!" She exclaimed before pulling him to hug, catching him by surprise. Her eyes widened before she pulled away with a prominent blush on her face.
"S-Sorry", she said and he chuckled, making me grit my teeth in annoyance.
"It's alright." He assured and I blinked away my tears before turning around walking away from the door.
"Who is it?" Marc asked, entering the living room along with Claire.
"Just some girl from school." I said as he walked towards the door and looked out.
"Terra, what a pleasant surprise?" Marc said, seeing her and I frowned in confusion.
"Is that the girl from the ball?" Claire asked and I nodded as she scrunched up her face.
"What is she doing here?" She asked, making me shrug in response.
"We're going to have breakfast," Marc told Terra, "You should join us."
"What is he doing?" Claire asked bewildered and I shared the same expression.
"Claire, I need to go home." I said.
"What? Don't." She said, "If this is about that girl, we can send her away somehow."
"No, I really have to go. I just remembered that there's this person that I had to meet for breakfast." I lied. It wasn't just Terra. I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in the same room as Blake at the moment.
I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around to see Blake and Marc entered the house with Terra following shyly behind them.
Blake gave me a pleading look and Terra's face showed surprise on seeing me here.
"Blake, could you take her to the dining room?" Marc asked and Blake nodded before walking in with her, but only after giving me an apologizing look.
"What's wrong?" Marc asked, walking towards Claire and me.
"She's going to leave." Claire said, glaring at him.
"Why?" He asked with a frown.
"There is this pers–"
"This is your fault for bringing strangers to our house." Claire scolded him, cutting me off.
"She's our son's friend." He argued.
"He's making friends with the wrong crowd and you're letting him." She said.
"I don't see anything wrong with that girl. Why are you making a big deal out of this?!" He fought.
"Can you both stop?!" All our head turned to Blake who entered the living room with a scowl on his face.
"Lynne, can we talk?" He asked, turning to me.
"We'll talk later." I said with a forced smile.
"Let Blake drive you." Marc said.
"No, it's fine. I'll just call my driver." I said.
"Wait, are you leaving?" Blake asked.
"Yeah, I am." I said before quickly turning around and walking out the house.
I heard Blake shout my name but I ignored him and kept walking, trying to hold back my tears.
"Lynne!" He kept shouting before he reached me and grabbed my hand.
"Please don't leave." He begged.
"Blake, let go." I said, glaring at his hold on my wrist.
"Lynne, just lis–"
"Let go!" I shouted and he flinched before he removed his grip on my hand.
I looked at him and the more my gaze stayed on him, the more tears I felt prickling my eyes.
"You told her." I whispered.
"Lynne, I didn't tell her. She was at the hospital and she saw the papers in my hand."
"But she said that you two spoke over the phone. You talked to her about it but not me."
"Lynne, I'm so sorry." He whispered, moving closer to me.
"No, don't be sorry. It's your personal problems and you have the rights to decide who to talk to about it. All I could do is wish that it would be me." I said, feeling my words get heavier towards the end.
"It is you, Lynne. You're the only person I wanted to talk to."
"But you didn' come to me, Blake." I whispered, feeling a tear fall down my cheek as I moved my gaze to the ground. I felt Blake move closer to me before his fingertips slowly caressed my cheeks, drying off the tear.
"Lynne, please. I know that things didn't really work out that way. But just trust me when I tell you that you're always my choice." He said.
"How can I trust you?" I asked.
"Lynne, of course you can trust me. We're best friends." He said.
"Are we?" I asked and he looked taken back by the question.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"What I mean is that you don't talk to me the way you used to, Blake. Every time we do talk, you're just flirting with me or trying to hook up with me. It's like you don't even want me for anything more than sex." I said, feeling more tears falls down my face.
"Lynne, that's not true. I'm so sorry that I made you feel like that. I-I won't do that again. I won't flirt with you or try to hook up with you. Just don't say that, Lynne." He pleaded
"But it's the truth, Blake. This is how things are between us now. I should've never slept with you on my birthday. That was such a stupid mistake." I said.
"It wasn't mistake, Lynne." He said in a whisper.
"Yes, it was!" I shouted, "You know what, we should've never kissed on my fifteenth birthday either. It ruined everything between us."
"You don't mean that." He said softly.
"I do mean that. I just wish that none of this ever happened. I don't like going through this." I cried, shaking my head.
I looked up at him and found him staring at me with glistening eyes.
"I-I didn't know you felt like that." He said, lowering his head, "I'm so sorry."
"I'm going to go home." I said, looking away from him.
"Let me drive you." He said.
"No. I want some time away from you, Blake." I said and he watched me with a distraught look as I turned around, walking away from him.
I walked until I reached a bench and sat down before taking out my phone, typing in the location and sending it to Asher.
I buried my head in my hand, hearing the sound of the cars moving on the road and I don't how long I sat there crying before I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up as Asher sat down beside me and pulled me to his chest.
"I lost him." I whispered, not being able to find my voice.
"I'm sure you didn't, Addy." He said softly, caressing my hair.
"We're not the same anymore, Asher. He has her now." I choked out and Asher hugged me tighter but I didn't hear him say anything more.
They say that everything good comes to an end. I've always known that my friends with benefits stage with Blake would end. But this wasn't the ending I had hoped for.
Author's Note
Omg! That would've been such a cool ending for my book. I've read two books about mean girls that end with the mean girl crying.........
So how are we feeling about this?
Anyways, the stupid virgins in the title was not Blake.......... 👀
