David's POV

2 weeks later

"I'm nervous, should I be nervous? I'm really nervous. This is normal right? David? Right?" Will was saying really quickly.

It's been two weeks since Hunter killed Cody and none of us have really used our powers or been to Todrick's ever since. We haven't seen Hunter either. Will and Dalton had gotten into trouble with their parents but everything's cleared up now. Alex and Becca don't remember who Cody even is. Thankfully, he didn't give them powers so there is no trace of that life left for them except us. Since we've gotten back to normal lives we've been doing pretty well with life. Everything seems easier when you do something that seems impossible.

Today is the day of that singing contest between schools. Dalton, Angela, Will and I have been practicing our group number and our song entries a lot. None of us four know what the other three are singing for the contest though.

Dana, Gabe, Cole and Alex are all out there. So are my parents and my sister, she never comes to anything for me. Of course, we were all nervous. There were kids from all over the state here. It's nerve-wracking. But you can't let the nervousness get to you.

"Hey, don't talk like that. We can do this. Just do your song and then we do the group number." I said calmly, which was totally just a front because I'm probably much more nervous than him but he won't know why. That's why they call it surprises.

"Ok." Will smiled at me and took my hand in his, we glanced towards Angela and Dalton who were both giving thumbs ups.

Then the announcer said our school name, "Representing this school is four very talented students. Firstly, Angela Preston."

We all clapped for Angela and she killed with a Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj song, a little explicit but she censored most of the bad words. I think it's called Feeling Myself. She raps really well actually.

"Thank you Angela Preston, that was wonderful. Now we have Dalton Rapattoni." There were screams from the crowd, mostly coming from the small group of our friends and family that were packed in one corner. 

"That's my boyfriend!" Cole yelled out which surprised me, guess he doesn't care whether people know or not anymore. Maybe they outed to everyone else now. The two main bullies at the school are gone.

Dalton did a hardcore version of The Little Mermaid's Poor Unfortunate Souls. It was absolutely amazing and awesome. Even though I expected an original from him I guess that's okay.

"Thank you for that wonderful display of rock & roll, Dalton Rapattoni. Next student is student David Scarzone."

I go up on stage, nearly deafened by the crowd. I was nervous as heck but was given a microphone. It was loud but I powered through a song called Daisy by Zedd. I remember singing it with my dad. I wanted to bring those memories back. Apparently I was good because people started clapping like crazy. They cheered and whistled loudly.

"Wow, wasn't that impressive folks? Lastly, it's William Behlendorf with a song he had written." Oh that's who was writing their own song. He started up the steps of the stage and toon an audible deep breath.

He looked at me and I smiled.

"Hi everyone. This song is called Superman, that boy who sang the Disney song a while ago helped me write it. Hope you like it." Will smiled at the crowd and then started singing the song.

A bunch of hormone-filled teenage girls were crying by the time he was done his song. I was so proud of him.

"Wow, that was absolutely incredible, let's give him another hand!" The announcer said, Will was blushing when he walked of the stage to us. "Now we've got quite the treat. Going back to 2014 with a 2014 mashup, here is all four of them!"

We all sang our hearts out and everyone was cheering and clapping by the end of it. I heard some hate but the love overpowered it. I felt less nervous about what was about to happen. Next I took the microphone. I'm so glad I got permission for this.

"Hi everyone, my name is David, just in case you forgot. Ok, if you're homophobic I think you should probably leave the stadium for now because I'm about to do something you won't especially enjoy." I said, very little people left which I was happy about. "That boy right there, that's Will. He is the best person I know and honestly, I love him. So I'm going to call up Dana, Gabe, Alex and Cole now. This is for you Will."

Angela sat him on a seat and he was confused. I heard a couple of 'aws' from the audience. Then the track started to play.

Basically, we sang a song called Don't Run Away, a song called Can't Stay Away and Everything About U in a mashup of my own. Then I kneeled on the ground in front of Will, he was grinning with tears in his eyes.

"This is more than a crush, more than a like-like and more than a love, so if I was your boyfriend I'd take you anywhere you'd like. Everything about you is perfect and amazing, I don't want to stay away for another second. Straight to your heart, that's where I want to be for the rest of our lives. I'm no Superman, even though I'm pretty good with the whole super thing. There is zero gravity so just go. Don't be heartless by saying what I want to hear but I want to get to know you more. So, will you be mine?" I take out a promise ring.

"Yes! I'll be your boyfriend! Of course!" Will practically squealed and picked me up to hold me in a tight hug, which I returned. Then applause started up and we basically celebrated none of us being single backstage.

Will ended up winning the contest and would be donating the money to the school because he had no use for it. Although he said he would keep some of it for food purposes. While we were walking to Cole and Gabe's cars, Gabe's was now repaired, a figure approached us to greet us.

"Hey guys." Todrick said

"Toddy!" We yelled and brought him into a group hug.

"Congratulations Will, you too David but I'm just here to tell you that there has been a couple of murders that might be linked together if you wanted to check that out. Also, Luke, Hunter, Calum, Ashton and Michael say hi."

He left and we all looked at each other.

"You know, I've kind of missed being a superhero, it was fun when we weren't being almost killed." Dalton said.

"Yeah, and I still haven't seen you guys in action, Gabe told me only a week ago about the year you've had." Alex put in.

"Well, then, we should have a name. A group name." Cole said

"How about IM5." Angela suggested

"Why IM5? There are seven of us." Dana asked

"It sounds cool." Angela shrugged

"IM5 it is then." Gabe nodded

"Todrick! Wait up!"
