"What? Why?"

Sebastian asked.

Sereia had just asked him to give her one of his textbooks and he looked utterly baffled by the question, and the fact that she was actually speaking to him without being asked to.

"Just do it."

Sereia said a bit more firmly.

"Which one?" "It doesn't matter just give me one."

She snapped and Sebastian hurriedly threw open his bag and pulled out his Potions book. A heavy book, he slid his copy of "Advanced Potion Making" over to her. She grabbed it quickly and stood, marching after Imelda.

"What are you- Hey!"

Sebastian snapped as she made off with the book but Sereia looked over her shoulder at him and gave him a narrow eyed sharp look that told him not to interfere.

Her stride moved quickly as she caught up with Imelda who stood chatting to some other Slytherins. They were laughing and mocking Sereia's book.

"Imelda!"

Sereia's voice cut through their gossip like a knife with smooth butter. Imelda turned, sly grin on her face, ready to through some sort of crude insult Sereia's way.

She didn't get the chance.

Sereia had raised "Advanced Potion Making" Over her head and brought it down on Imelda's face, hitting her nose and shattering it with a sickening crack.

Imelda fell back from the blow, landing on her back on the hard marble ground. Her scream pierced the chatter of the great hall which fell silent almost instantly.

Gasps and hushed words filled the air. Sereia's girp on the book, which was now stained at the corner that struck Imelda's face, with blood, remained firm. Sereia's hooded gaze looked down at Imelda as she brought her finger up to touch her broken nose with a sob.

"Oh my god..."

A Slytherin student said as they watched Imelda's finger make contact with the shattered cartilage. Imelda whimpered as she felt the sting of her fingers make contact with the now gaping wound where her nose was.

"...no..."

She cried as she drew her finger back and saw them stained with crimson blood.

"What did you do...."

Sebastian was at Sereia's side in no time. When he handed her his book this was obviously not what he was expecting her to do with it. A shrieked sob fell from Imelda's lips as she shuddered and stricken breaths fell from her lips.

"Out of the way!"

Marina.

Marina and Professor Weasley made their way through the crowd of students. Sereia raised the book in her hand above her head once more, ready to hit Imelda again.

"Sereia don't!"

Sebastian grabbed her wrist quickly to keep her from hitting the other Slytherin. Imelda flinched, holding her hands over her face to protect herself from Sereia if she hit her again.

"Gods..."

Marina's voice broke through.

"Sereia what have you done?"

Sereia and Imelda, nose now repaired thanks to the hospital wing, though she had a slight scar that would probably never leave her, sat across from Professor Weasley.

"Now,"

Weasley began.

"Hopefully we have all had time to think about what happened." "What happened?"

Imelda scoffed.

"She bloody hit me!"

Imelda continued and Sereia glared over at her. Weasley cleared her throat to try to get the brunette to calm down.

"I am well aware of that, Miss Reyes." She said.

"But why?"

She looked to Sereia.

"Why did you hit miss Reyes?" Sereia shifted in her seat. She would have to speak again.

"She took something from me. A book." Sereia said. "You hit miss Reyes because she took a book from you?" Weasley asked.

"What book?" "A gift... from-from my aunt." Weasley nodded.

"This book?"

She pulled it out of a drawer in her desk. The leather bound copy of SEA MAGIC: A HISTORY stared back at her. Sereia nodded.

"She's dangerous if you ask me. Deserves to be expelled and sent back to the wild where she came from." Imelda continued.

"Yes, but I didn't ask you, did I, Miss Reyes?" Professor Weasley quipped. Imelda bit her lip.

"I believe detentions should be sufficient." "I'm sorry, detentions? As in plural?" "Yes." Weasley nodded.

"For Miss River and you." "Me? I'm the victim here!" Imelda shrieked.

"This was not an isolated incident. Am I correct, Miss River?" Sereia nodded.

"I suspect that you were doing what you do to every new student, torturing them and testing them to prove themselves to you. What you did not expect was for one of them to lash out against you. Be careful who you provoke, Miss Reyes. Not everyone tolerates your banter." Imelda scoffed.

"And as for you," Weasley looked to Sereia.

"I understand that you are new and not accustomed to the way we do things here but you must understand that we hold our students to a higher standard than this. This sort of behavior will not be tolerated. Should you have any other issues with any other students you are to alert a professor, do you understand."

Sereia nodded.

"Right then, you will serve your detentions tonight after class." "Tonight?"

Imelda looked up.

"You can't be serious, tonight is quidditch trials. I have to be there. I'm the captain."

"You should have thought of that before you behaved this way."

Weasley warned her.

"I suggest you move your trials to tomorrow." "But Gryffindor is holding trials tomorrow."

"Then it's time for you to learn to share the pitch, Imelda."

Imelda didn't like this. She crossed her arms over her chest and glared at Sereia.

"Sereia!"

Sebastian? Had he waited outside of Weasley's office waiting for her?

"Sallow."

Imelda said as she made eye contact with him, she followed Sereia out of Weasley's office.

"Quidditch trials will be moved to tomorrow."

she told him.

"What? Why? Isn't Gryffindor using the pitch tomorrow for their trials?"

He asked and Imelda sighed. She narrowed her eyes at Sereia before turning back to Sebastian.

"We'll just have to share."

She added before walking off, leaving Sebastian alone with Sereia. He looked back to her.

"What happened? Are you expelled?"

Sereia shook her head.

"Detention."

She said softly, she never said the word before, she didn't even know what it was.

"You got detention?" He asked, eyes wide. "And Imelda." "Imelda got detention too?"

He laughed softly.

"Oh that's rich. I bet she's furious! That must be why she moved quidditch trials to tomorrow."

Quidditch, that was another thing that Sereia didn't know of. She would ask that question a later time though.

"What is detention?"

She asked Sebastian. They began walking, to where she wasn't sure, she was just following Sebastian, really.

"Detention? It's like a punishment. You get detention when you misbehave and then you go do something for the teachers. Sometimes its just busy work and sometimes you have to go wonder through the forbidden forest. Really depends on the teacher." he shrugged.

"I've served my fair share of detentions."

He said with a bit of a grin and was that arrogance in his voice? Was he proud of that?

"Where are we going?"

She asked suddenly as they began to head down a staircase.

"Didn't you know? We're supposed to be in class right now. Potions, actually. Professor Sharp sent me to guide you to it once you got done with Weasley. He figured as a new student you wouldn't know how to find the potions room."

She had never met this Professor Sharp but for a moment she was grateful for him, she definitely wouldn't have been able to find this room on her own and sending Sebastian to come get her was a wise idea indeed.

And perhaps, Sebastian was growing on her. She started to like his company, even though he seemed to ramble on sometimes without ceasing.
