"What have you done?"
Sebastian turned to Imelda who couldn't stop laughing and cackling like a true witch.
"She had it coming. Don't play innocent." Imelda said through laughs.
"You sent her to the bottom of the lake! That could kill her!" "don't be so dramatic. It's only a bit of water." "Imelda the lake is several meters deep. It could even be nearly a kilometer."
"Relax, Sallow. It's not that deep. Besides I don't see what you're getting so worked up about. This doesn't involve you."
The words were harsh and Imelda meant for them to be as she narrowed her eyes at the other Slytherin.
"I don't see why you're so obsessed with her anyways. She's just some wild child from the middle of nowhere. There's nothing special about her at all."
"Imelda?"
One of the girls in her posse spoke up.
"What?" Imelda snapped.
"It's been almost three minutes and she hasn't surfaced."
Sebastian and Imelda raced to the edge of the dock to stare down into the depths of the lake. No sign of Sereia.
"Is she dead?"
One of the girls asked.
"Can't be."
Imelda replied. But still there was no sign of Sereia. Sebastian pulled out his wand.
"Levioso!"
he shouted but it was useless. The spell just seemed to be absorbed by the lake.
"Accio!"
he tried again with no luck. The lake just seemed to eat the magic.
"Imelda what have you done." He continued.
"I-" "It've been five minutes."
The same girl said.
"I didn't mean it. I was just trying to scare her." "Scare her? You've killed her!"
Sebastian was obviously furious.
"I didn't mean to! It was just a trick!" she seemed to be panicking.
"Six minutes."
"No one can hold their breath for that long." another girl remarked and Imelda looked incredibly grim.
"Should we go get professor Weasley?" "No." Imelda snapped.
"I didn't-"
"What's that?"
Sebastian said as he peered down into the depths. There was something taking shape and moving quickly to the surface. She broke the surface. Sebastian didn't hesitate to reach for her and pull her on to the dock.
She couldn't breathe.

She drew in several deep ragged breaths. Sebastian held her.
"Sereia? Sereia! Can you hear me?"
He asked over and over again. She nodded.
"She's alive..."
Imelda muttered. She looked down at her, bewildered.
"How? No one can hold their breath that long."
A girl, the same one keeping watch on the minutes, commented.
"Come on."
Sebastian said as he guided her up the dock.
"Let's get you to the hospital wing." He told her as he guided her.
Sereia hadn't said a word, she couldn't get one out between the labored breaths that she kept trying to get into her lungs. Adjusting from breathing in water to air was having quite an affect on her.
"Wait!"
Imelda raced after them.
"Sebastian you won't say anything of course... you know I didn't mean to."
He only glared at her.
"I mean she's alright. Look at her she's alight."
Imelda continued. She was obviously now panicking even more and was worried about having to try to cover for herself.
Had she done what she did to anyone else they would have died and Imelda would have lived with the charge of manslaughter on her heart forever.
Imelda was lucky that it was Sereia she had chosen to torture, and not some unlucky first year.
"Sereia,"
Imelda called and reached out to grab her now soaked cloak which dripped on to the dock. Sebastian interfered quickly. He grabbed Imelda's wrist and glared at her.
"Touch her again and I will kill you."

They stumbled back up to the castle. Sereia with Sebastian's hands around her, steading her.
"The hospital wing is this-" "I don't need it."
She told him, her voice was hoarse.
"Sereia are you kidding me?"
He asked, stunned.
"You were at the bottom of the lake for nearly ten minutes." "And I'm fine." She said.
"I survived." "How?"
He asked her and her eyes dimed. She looked away.
"I don't know." "You don't know?" He countered.
"How do you not know? How do you survive for almost ten minutes at the bottom of the lake and just not know how? People don't just do that."
"I know." She told him.
"I don't know how... but when I was down there.. Someone told me to breathe."
"Who?"
"I don't know." She persisted. "But I did."
He raised a brow and looked at her as if this was the craziest thing she could have possibly told him.
"You breathed? Under water?"
she nodded.
"How?"
"I don't know." She repeated, her tone getting bored with him.
"Do you remember when you said that you knew where the books on sea magic were located in the library?" He nodded.
"They're in the restricted section." said Sebastian. "Why?" He asked curiously.
"Can you take me to them?" "Of course I can." He replied.
"Sneaking into the restricted section of the library is a part of who I am." He added playfully and Sereia rolled her eyes at him, it was something she had seen Ominis do multiple times and now she could see why.
Sebastian was something else.
"But first we need to get you out of these clothes. You're soaking wet, Sereia." he told her and took her arm in his.
"Let's get you to the common room."

Sereia had changed clothes and now the pair stood outside of the library.
"You'll need to know the disillusionment charm for this. Just follow my wand movements."
He waved his wand around himself and Sebastian, as she knew him, vanished from sight.
"Where- where did you go?" "It's just a spell."
Was he whispering in her ear? That same warm feeling returned.
"Just do as I did."
She followed his movements, doing the exact same, and she too disappeared.
"This way."
He said and Sereia followed.
"The librarian takes her break at this hour so we'll need to be fast. Come on." "How am I supposed to see where you're going?" Sereia asked. Sebastian hadn't thought of that.
"Uh-" He began, thinking of what to say, "Just follow the sound of my voice." "It's hard to ignore." "What was that?" "Nothing." "Right."
Sebastian said, creeping along the shelves of the library with Sereia in tow.
"Just follow me. Follow my voice."
he said and began to walk through the library, thankfully this time that the librarian was gone which gave him much more grace to work with. They snuck up to a locked gate- the restricted section.
"Alohamora."
Sebastian whispered as he tapped the tip of his wand to the lock. It fell open and the gate swung out, inviting them inside.
"Told you I could get you inside."
He said and walked inside the gate with Sereia still following him.
