Let's see what the girls had to say in our interviews.
"Well, the selection is an interesting thing to be apart of, especially it being me, an artist of sorts, anyways, that's all I've got to say about it." -Lady Starla Hart
"I think the Selection is all very... interesting. The planning, thought, and effort put into this generation after generation, Prince after Prince program is incredible! It's a great opportunity, for the Selected, to meet others from different provinces and make new friends. I, personally, do not agree with all the terms, conditions, and requirements; but I don't think it was poorly written or without serious discussion being put in place. I'm very excited above it all, and will try to give it my best!" -Lady Celeste Denise
"I feel like the Selection is a bit annoying, considering it gives the princes little choice of their future spouse, but it is a good opportunity for Illéa to connect and for those from all different castes to socialize with one another." -Lady Rose Marks
"I hope the selection will be a good chance for me to make friends, and if I don't win, it doesn't matter, cause it's the experience that is important." -Lady Emiko Saegusa
"Everyone has different opinions about the Selection. Some great and others I don't know, but I see the Selection as something positive, great, something that everyone's excited to see and some of us experience. The opportunity to make friends with the other 34 girls, to talk to the royals that we look up to. And maybe just maybe win the heart of a prince. I really do hope that this Selection will be a great experience for all of us even to the people who are watching the Selection from their screens." -Lady Julliet Evans
"I think the selection is a lovely way for the royal prince's to find love." -Lady Calista Carter
"Honestly. I think it just gives women the opportunity to connect with royalty no matter their caste. It allows them to make friends, maybe even a few enemies. But...in general it's a eye opener. Now for better or worse. We'll just have to figure that out ourselves." -Lady Alena Duchanne
"Well... I don't know. I think its a good idea for the option to pick the lucky girl. It's also nice they all get to know each other so... Yeah, It's a really good idea." -Lady Alena Jackson
"It's kinda cool. Um, I don't know. Seems odd that women are being put up against each other for love. Seems somewhat stereotypical and misogynistic, but it's a good idea. We wouldn't have a chance with these people if it wasn't for this." -Lady Annalise Ruvick
"What I think of the Selection? Well, I think its a lovely idea and its an honor from everyone who gets chosen. One girl from each province gets a once in a life time chance to find love with the princes each with different case and back ground. I like it because there are no favoring someone because they are richer then the others, or has a better job than someone else. Its a great opportunity for everyone, no matter who they are and how they were raised to find love, make a better life for they're family. Being chosen to be part of the Selection is intimating to say the least, knowing that everything you say and do shows who you are, which is what they want you to be, yourself, not a fake person. Its something that doesn't happen often, and when it does everyone is excited for it. Some only do it for the title others do it for the love. I don't personally care if they're a prince or not, as long as they love me unconditionally, which is what we're all here for, to find someone to spend the rest of our lives with! But like everything good, it comes with risks, and if you are chosen to be queen or princess, these trials help mold your character. So in essence, I think the Selection is a great idea to have." -Lady Persephone Everglade
"My name is Layla Weiss. It's nice to meet you too Adena Maria. What are my thoughts on the selection. I think it does what its supposed to; find the princes a wife. I do think they need to increase the age range, sixteen is way too young. I'm considered old and I'm only 22. I love the idea of ladies being chosen by fate, to fall in love with a prince, and live in a beautiful castle. My hopeless romantic heart was squealing with joy when I heard I was chosen! Ah, no I did not enter the selection for love or to become royal. I would be lying if I said I didn't hope fore those things but they aren't the only reasons. It's a good business opportunity, a free vacation, builds connections, free publicity. My store can be found at Not_Just_A_Jewel.com by the way, make sure you plug that in the report. It's all those things combined with how cute the princes are. There's a rebellion going on frankly. Why would people buy jewels, or get them appraised at my shop if they can't buy bread even. Royalty and the first caste are going to be the biggest consumers. They'll be only ones if the rebellion gets worse. Of course I'll be disappointed if I go home. Honestly though I don't see the other girls as being competition. Don't get me wrong I'm sure they're nice. Kingdoms need smart capable women to help the kingdom and the princes, not little girls barely out of puberty. Thank you as well, see you soon." -Lady Layla Weiss
"It's definitely.... Different... Then what I am used to. I never would have imagined this actually happening... It's insane... I just wonder where these next few weeks will take me." -Lady Lorelai Irvingmorny
"I entered the selection and I'm hoping to find love and make some new friends on the way. I know I won't be there for long but it will still be a good experience." -Lady Dahlia Walters
"Well, for some of us the selection is a chance to find love , and for others a chance to escape the lives we were born into, and live a life of luxury. Personally I joined the selection because my friends were doing it and my parents thought it would be a good idea. I never thought I would actually be chosen as one of the 35. I am grateful and hope to befriend the other girls and find love too." -Lady Adaline Morgenstern
"To be honest I don't really feel like the selection is really a good thing. Sure it's nice and all, but it's just Shouldn't the princes find someone genuinely and not by a mere competition? Also the caste system I have a problem with. Separating us into groups is irrational and unfair. And that is my opinion." -Lady Jessica Maxwell
"What I think of the selection, that's a hard question. I guess I think it's okay. I mean, it gives so many girls opportunity, and fresh start, they might not of had otherwise. I know a lot of girls in province who want to get pick, applied because they wanted 'Adventure' or to 'Make a difference'. But on the other hand, the princes who are selecting, loose the freedom of choosing on there own. Really, I feel bad for them, but it benefits them for the most part. They learn how to socialize, make important decisions, and more. The outcome really is great. Like if I get picked, I have a chance to get a adventure, and be a new person. And I can find love. The selection is good, because it benefits so many people." -Lady Lucy Wilde
"I think the selection is a really good thing because it gives people like me a chance at a better life, and a chance to live our dreams." -Lady Natalie Phelps
"Fate plays you, one moment life was normal, the next moment life becomes interesting." -Lady Sapphire Linch
"I'm really excited for the selection!!! I think it's going to be an amazing experience, and what makes even better is that this will be my first time ever out of Atlin. My family don't like travelling much, they didn't like the idea of me going on a plane but I'm fine with it. They worry way too much, but I guess that's parents, right? So anyway, I can't wait to get to see the palace. Of course I've seen a little on tv but being there in person will make it so much better!!! And then there's the princes, I can't say I have a favourite at the minute since I haven't met any of them in person and there can be a lot more than what you see on the screen. As for my chances of winning, I'm not really sure yet. I'm one of six fives although I'm certain castes won't matter when it comes down to it. I hope that anyway since there are lots of twos and threes. I'm most excited for just going there though and getting a chance to be part of this amazing experience it would be more amazing if I won though but it's going to be great whatever." -Lady Cara Lightwood
"I think the selection is a great way for girls from all over the country to meet one another and try to add our input to different issues. Wether or not we win, we still have many more opportunities to show the world what we think. It is an amazing chance to meet friends, find love, and all in all just a great experience to grow. The only thing I might change about it is I would give the prince the option to say that they don't feel a connection to anyone in the group so that if they don't fall in love they aren't forced to get married, and would have the princesses also go through the selection so that they aren't sold off to other countries and have an equal opportunity to find love." -Lady Melody River
"I think now that I was picked for the selection, I can meet some new people, and maybe fall in love. I think this could be a great experience for me and my family. I could also get away from life and be happy. I can't wait to meet the princes and princesses. I truly hope I find my prince, and if I get eliminated, then I well come home to work harder again. I do hope some of the other people there are nice. I want to do this for my parents, my brother and my Province. I want to prove to everyone that I can do something and my work has paid off from these years. I don't want to run into trouble but no pain no game I guess. I can't wait to see the Castle and all the new stuff there. The journey ahead may be good or bad but I will be thankful for the chance." -Lady Alice Brews
"I am so excited to be a selected I have always thought the selection was magical. Prince Louis has always made my heart flutter! I hope to have some truly amazing times during the selection. I cannot wait to meet all of the beautiful princesses and princes and hopefully make some lifelong friends! I will miss my family but they are all so excited for me to go to the palace. My youngest sister Violet especially she is four and she keeps saying, 'my sisters a selector!' I hope the selection will end with a ring on my finger, but a girl can only hope!" -Lady Alana Tullei
"I'm pretty excited for the selection. I mean, the whole idea of it makes me a little nervous, honestly, but who wouldn't be? There are so many wonderful girls who have been chosen, and this competition is about something so important. It's about the future of Illéa, and... it's about love. So I am nervous. But I think that everything will happen the way it was meant to, and I wholeheartedly hope that each Prince will find somebody to love, even if it isn't me." -Lady Selia Winnacre
"Hi my name is Mailia. I'm here for the interview. You want to know what I think about the selection? Well I think that the selection isn't just a competition like most girls think. It's about being yourself and if you find the one then it was meant to be. But if you lose then you guys weren't meant for each other. The best love is the one that makes you a better person, without changing you into someone other than yourself. That's what I think." -Lady Mailia Grace
"Well it's obviously a way for the prince's to meet their 'true love' but I think it goes a little deeper than that. I believe it gives the Selected girls an opportunity to make friends and see what it's like in other castes. I also believe that's it's also a way for the king and queen to check on what's going on in the castes. One big thing though is for the Selected to get ideas of what they could do as Queen or Princess. I mean when they become queen or princess, they could use their idea that they had and maybe someone else's that they liked better." -Lady Aubrey Novea
"Well I think of the selection as a fun opportunity to meet the selected and royalty and to try the food of course!" -Lady Joy Starr
"Here I come, I feel.... Scared, nervous weird, crazy awkward. But, I think I have a fair shot, this is scaring me too. But I am scared for if I get eliminated or not. I think I belong with these kinds up people. And I don't deserve to be eliminated, but what if I don't live up to their standards? This just makes me nervous at night, however I have gone numerous nights without sleep because of this.... But I think this is a new opportunity for me, I am here because I want to be, not because I was worse to be, I chose this, I want this. However I know I probably will be the first to be eliminated, despite this I keep my head high. I won't back down to any fight anyone is willing to give me, because I came here, and I didn't do this just to lose." -Lady Aria Amy
"I think the selection is more of an experiment than a contest. The royal family wants to know things about their country by inviting a girl from every province. Oh and just to say, I wouldn't only fight for a prince, the prince would also have to fight for me!" -Lady Louise Adams
"The Selection sounds absolutely amazing! Being the person that I am, I am definitely excited to be near the royals, wear big ball gowns, and dance the night away with a prince. I know some girls think it's stupid and terrible, but I truly disagree. I'm just scared no one will think I'm capable of doing my duties and being a princess might seem too hard for me. I am part of the youngest age group. I must say, since I'm only 16, those smart, pretty, tall, and awesome 20 year olds tend to intimidate me. You never know though, one of those elder girls could be a friend! I'm looking forward to making friends! All the princes look amazing too, just Timothy isn't really my type of guy. He's still great too though, don't get me wrong, just maybe too serious for my taste. My father thinks me getting married at 16 might be too young, and ruling a kingdom at 16 is too young. If the Selection proceeds for a while though, I might turn 17 before winning. That's in 7 months though, so probably not gonna happen! I'm very good at kissing, something many friends and ex boyfriends have told me, and a specific boyfriend I almost wanted to marry last year noted how good I was at... that thing. I shouldn't mention it, but I doubt you don't know what I mean. All in all, I'm excited for the Selection to begin, I'm happy to be living in the palace for a while, and I hope to permanently reside there! Thank you!" -Lady Amanda Mota
"I believe the Selection is a unique experience that any girl should be privileged to have." -Lady Casey Summers
