I'm going to tell you about my experience.

My name is MacKenzie Johnson, or you can call me MJ for short. I am 5'3 with long sandy brown dreads that stop mid of my back.

I am African American and Indian.

I go to R. B. Staff High school and I'm a senior.

I was dating my first boyfriend Xavier Armstronge.

"I love you baby," I said to him. "Yea love u too" he said with monotone.

My smile kind of faded when he said it. "Ugh forget it Xavier" I said walking away. "Girl I'm just playing you know I love you girl." he said grabbing me and kissing me.

He smacked my butt and walked to his class which was detention right about now.

I want my boyfriend to succeed in life, all he does is be in girls faces and party and smoke weed.

But I love him so much, why I don't even know anymore but I do.

As I'm walking to class I see this girl. She is tall and dark skin. with dreads down her back. She dressed in uniform but for some reason she looks good in hers.

She has a bottom grill and has a Miami Heats hat on. She's a stud.

I look at her for sometime but drop my stare when j hear the bell ring. I go into class and sit down.

I have never dated a girl but I have had experiences with them and I can honestly say that I like them a lot.

But I have never told anyone. I would look at them and judge whether I would date them or not.

But around here being gay or lesbian. You were looked down upon.

Everybody says "It's a sin" "Your going to hell" "Dating your gender, its disgusting" "Gay marriage should be banned forever"

I've always thought that if you love someone, their gender shouldn't matter. Love is love. No matter what parts we have.

I'm thinking constantly until I hear the door opened "OK class we have a new student, can you tell the class your name please?"

"My name is Serena but y'all can call me Brooklyn"

I look up and see the girl from the hallway. Man she is fine and she is in my class.
