When Xander's alone, he's usually a gamer or watches TV shows and movies. When with others, he tries to do what they are doing, unless he's unable to do it given the circumstances (like it being too loud or bright, for example). He has 5 special interests (at the beginning of the story), being:

- Veggietales

- Handy Manny

- Super Mario

- Bakugan

- Ninjago

These interests can aid Xander in certain situations and even lead to interests in Christianity, fixing things, learning Spanish on his own, and more.

From a younger age, Xander gained the ability to communicate with imaginary friends from each of these franchises (I-Larry, I-Manny, I-Mario, I-Dan, and I-Lloyd). However, they're holographic, light blue, and are incorporeal, so they can't physically aid Xander, but they can give him advice based on their strengths & experiences. All Xander has to do is think "____, come!" and they'll be there with him. When Xander thinks "_____, return!" they phase back into Xander in the form of a light blue ball.
