On a cloudy, hectic day in the hotel lobby during spring break, the boy trio and Carey exit the elevator to witness Mr. Moseby, along with several other employees, attempting to kick hiding girls to the curb. The hidden spots range from behind plants to standing duffel bags.

Cody inquires as to why all the girls are here, and Mr. Moseby responds that a very famous rockstar is coming to visit for a couple days later in the afternoon. Carey tells them it's crazy how women can obsess over musicians. All Xander can say is that people are worshiping them as false idols, using the massive crowd of girls outside as an example. The other four consider how to respond to him, but Zack shifts the subject, wanting to know about who is coming later.

All Mr. Moseby says is "that McCartney fellow." Carey was overjoyed to hear this, thinking it's Paul McCartney, and shouts, "I LOVE PAUL MCCARTNEY!" While jumping up and down, doing a spin, and flapping her hands a few times. Everyone watches, and Xander backs away as if he's seen a snake. Even Zack leans back and covers his ears for a moment, thinking to himself, "Maybe I should get some noise-canceling headphones too."

Cody asks who he is, and Carey stops moving. Mr. Moseby clarified that it is not Paul McCartney, but Jessie McCarney. Carey and the other boys don't know who he is at all. After that, Zack devised another scheme and shared it with Cody and Xander, believing that if Jessie is wealthy, he can sell some of his belongings and make some money. Of course, Mr. Moseby says that if they try to do anything remotely close to it, he will send them "bye bye" with a small wave of his hand and a big smile, not to mention jail.

Mr. Moseby returns to his office, and Zack runs off to the arcade area. Cody requests Xander's assistance in lifting a box to Arwin's basement, where he is working on a project for Boston's junior science contest. He mentions with inspiration how he really needs something to "blow their socks off," then clarifies to Xander, his smile gone, that he needs to make something that truly impresses the judges there.

Xander agreed to help, and Carey feels that it would be better to go with Cody rather than risk Xander going to jail, given Zack's reputation. Carey went back to the Martin suite, while Cody and Xander walked to the special, yet rusty, service elevator at a corner beside the arcade room, each carrying an average-sized box full of some parts for gizmos and widgets.

On the way down, Xander brought I-Larry and I-Manny along for today. I-Larry can play a wide variety of instruments, and I-Manny can play a French horn and a vihuela with proficiency, just in case they meet this rockstar. Not to mention I-Manny's mastery of tools, perfect for being with Arwin.

They arrive to find Arwin has just finished making a catapult toaster, striving to make a device that helps make toast come to you when it's done. Arwin demonstrated a toaster attached to one end of the catapult, forming an acute arc with the support of some metal bars and robust wires. Only for a couple pieces of near-burnt toast to shoot Arwin's exposed forehead. I-Manny was impressed by this and wondered why he hadn't thought of it.

Xander took off his headphones & sunglasses, placing them on Arwin's desk. Cody dusted off Arwin's right shoulder and asked for permission to use some tools. Arwin became interested when Cody mentioned he was making a laser for the contest, and Arwin discussed with them about his experience in a school science contest. He would have won had he not caused an explosion in the school gym. Xander reminded him that Arwin has a tendency to make things explode, and both I-friends agreed. Arwin simply shrugged it off, claiming that the gym needed a pool anyway and that Cody would do better with his project.

Cody deviously, yet innocently, explains that his motivation for getting the science award is so he can get into MIT, make a robot that can eat oil spills, and comfortably retire while caring for Carey in retirement and pay for Zack's bail money. I-Larry thinks that is quite an elaborate plan for the future, and Xander says that exact thing to Cody. Arwin asks Cody if Zack's in jail already, and he responds with "not yet."

Arwin leans back in his chair and tells Cody that if he needs help, he can tell him, because he considers himself a "professional inventor" with a hint of pride and a toothy smile. Then the catapult toaster launched a couple pieces of butter around his head. Arwin grabs a piece of toast and uses some butter from his cheek and offers it to him, but Cody respectfully declines.

Xander, on the other hand, takes a piece of toast that has been on the ground for a few minutes and wipes off the butter from Arwin's forehead before taking a bite into it. Cody's and I-Larry's faces scrunch up, with I-Manny's eyebrows falling closer to his eyes. Cody, slightly nauseated, exclaims, "Xander, you do know that's been on the ground, right?" Xander stares at Cody's nose for a moment before taking another bite. Both the I-friends look over at each other, unsure of what to think. I-Manny tells I-Larry "Well, boys will be boys, I guess."

After a couple hard-working hours, Cody is almost finished with his laser. The end you hold in your hand resembles a Nerf gun, whereas the shooting cone area resembles the end of a lightsaber, which is currently supported by a few small metal bars and positioned like a telescope.

Xander is gazing at the wall full of tools and paint, completely zoned out with his head tilted and bottom lip out, while Arwin jitters around making strange noises, desperately wanting to aid Cody. I-Manny stood next to Cody the entire time, inspecting his work and imagining how quickly and efficiently his talking tools could construct it for Cody. I-Larry sits with Xander, attempting to emulate him, but he becomes restless and plays with some of Arwin's tools.

Cody mentions several times throughout the building process to Arwin that he's supposed to do the project on his own, or else it is considered cheating. Arwin offered to even seal his lips shut with some hot glue, but when Carey came in to check how things were going, Arwin, smitten, quickly set the glue gun down and set his knee down on his metal desk chair, only for him to fall on the ground, causing Carey to help him up, which in turn made Arwin even more infatuated with her, barely able to make comprehensible words.

Carey came down to inform the boys that it's time for lunch, and Cody wishes to try his new invention just once. When he turned it on by pushing the "shoot" button, smoke partially filled the room, and sparks started flying everywhere. Arwin sprayed it down with a fire extinguisher, having the speed of a cheetah, while Carey and Cody hugged each other, terrified. Both I-friends try to force Xander out of his daydreaming from behind, but it's all for naught. After the gun's extinguished, Cody examines it and sees it's ruined. Carey tried to convince him to make something simpler like a volcano, but Cody thinks it's too common of a project.

Carey waved her hand in front of Xander's face, and he snapped back to reality, unaware of what had occurred. All three of them are perplexed by this, with Cody commenting, "That is a dangerous dose of daydreaming there." Xander looked over at both I-friends, contemplating what to say, and I-Larry suggested that "this can happen to me occasionally, and I can't control when it happens." Xander says the exact words, and their eyes widen.

When lunchtime was over, Carey went with Cody to continue with the project while Xander stayed and relaxed on the couch. I-Larry and I-Manny stayed by his side for a few more minutes after a diaper change. Then along came Zack with a certain smile on his face, staring at Xander, saying, "Xander, buddy, pal, friend, chum..." as he slowly moved to sit with him on the left side of the couch.

He requests Xander's help with sneaking into Jessie's room, stealing some of his belongings, and profiting off of it. Xander didn't even need I-Larry to know that stealing is wrong, and also he didn't want to explain to his dad why he was in jail, despite Zack telling Xander that Cody would pay for their bail money right after. Xander still wouldn't budge. Zack drops his factitious smile, and he says if they are caught, he'll simply say that it was his idea and that he'll take all the blame.

I-Larry's eyebrows falter with his lips dropping, saying, "You seriously aren't considering this, right?"

Xander: *Sigh* Larry, Manny, return.

After I-Larry and I-Manny shrank into blue balls and flew back into Xander's chest, he considered bringing out I-Lloyd for his stealth as a ninja, but he didn't want to hear more sentences like "stealing is wrong," which would magnify his uneasiness. Zack stands up, crosses his arms, and stares intently at Xander.

Then he tries his last resort: bribing Xander with candy. The next few candy bars that he gets will go directly to Xander, which incentivizes him enough to reluctantly go after putting his headphones on. Zack suggests crawling through the vent system to get there, which, despite Xander's body mass, is still large enough for them to crawl through the cold & dusty vent system.
