The Question
Aphmau's Perspective
Aphmau, frozen that the man might be Garroth, didn't realize that she had spoken aloud until 'Garroth' asked if it was really her. He sounded so broken, and Aphmau wondered how long he had been here. It could have only been a few days, but even a few hours alone could break someone, or drive them to insanity. She decided to answer.
"Yes.....Is it really you? Or are you a figment of my imagination?" Aphmau asked. She whispered to herself. "I really hope this isn't a dream. I miss him so much." She cursed herself for being selfish. She had others suitors, and they were actually there, in the same dimension, and had confessed their feelings for her. She couldn't let her feelings for him cloud her judgement. If this man was Garroth, how did he end up here? He was stuck in another dimension, fighting for his life. Barely a second had passed Irene's Dimension, if the group did their math correctly. Aphmau was debating whether to take a risk or not when Garroth replied.
"Yes. It's really me. At least, I think I'm real." He paused to take a breath. "Can you come out? Are you physically here, or are you just a voice?"
Since Garroth was facing the other way, away from the tree, Aphmau snuck down to the grass and came up behind Garroth.
"I'm so glad it's really you," she said as she hugged him. He turned around.
