Things haven't been going well for the Gaang. Aang trains with Toph in Earth Bending, but later went with a Professor to a library in the desert known as the Spirit Library. The found crucial information that could help them end the War with the Fire Nation, only for the Library to sink down and Toph has to hold it up long enough to save everyone, except the Professor.

However, several Sandbenders arrived and took advantage as they kidnapped Appa and took him away. And so, Aang and his friends have to travel the desert on foot. They soon found the Sandbenders who took Appa, but learned they sold him off, making Aang furious.

Now, they arrived at a location known as Serpent's Pass, with a couple of Refugees on route to Ba Sing Se. They arrive at Full Moon Bay where they gained tickets thanks to Toph using her family's reputation and the fact she has Momo be her seeing-eye-lemur.

Then the group reunite with Suki, a Kyoshi warrior they met not too long ago, during their travel to the North Pole. As they catch up on their adventures and misfortune, the refugees that led Team Avatar to the bay call up to them in desperation, as their tickets and passports had been stolen. Despite Aang's appeal to the ticketmaster, she will not allow the trio onto the ferry. Therefore, Aang decides he will lead them all through the Serpent's Pass.

As the group heads to the Serpent's Pass, Suki joins them, although Sokka seems to have some misgivings which he does not voice. The group arrives at the Serpent's Pass, and Katara reads the inscription on the post at the entrance which states that they should abandon hope. As they head along the pass, they see a Fire Nation Ship in the lake. Suddenly, the rock path gives way underneath one of the refugees, but Toph manages to save him. The rock fall attracts the attention of the Fire Nation ship, which begins firing at the group.

Aang deflects fireballs from the group, but one manages to make a hit. Suddenly, the ship was hit by an unknown force that left a deep cut on it's hull. Aang wasn't able to see what made the cut as it too fast.

After pushing Suki out of the way of rock debris from a Fire Nation blast, Sokka is right in the path of the falling debris, but Toph earthbends a barrier to deflect it. Instead of thanking Toph, Sokka focuses on getting Suki out of harm's way. This annoys Toph, but she quickly follows the group.

Meanwhile, she stops as she felt something. Momo looks at her as she tries to register the feeling.

Toph: It feels... familiar. But how?

She brushes it off as she runs to the group. Soon, the camera moves up.

*later*

As night falls, Sokka again acts overprotective of Suki, which baffles her.

As Aang looks out over the water, Katara lets him know it is all right to miss Appa. She asks why he is keeping his emotions in check and Aang replies that he did not like how his anger changed him in the desert. Katara encourages Aang to not give up on hope and attempts to give him a hug, but he simply bows and thanks her for her concern.

As Sokka is looking at the moon, Suki approaches him and comments on its beauty. She asks him why he is being so over-protective and he tries to explain about how he was unable to protect someone at the North Pole and does not want that to happen to anyone else he cares about. Suki, in a roundabout way, tells Sokka she has missed him; the two almost kiss, but Sokka claims he cannot. Suki apologizes, but Sokka says it is not her fault.

The next morning at the Serpent's Pass, the group hits a section which is completely submerged beneath the lake. Initially discouraged, the group is brought together as Katara tells everyone to get in a single file line as she parts the water for them to walk the path. Aang helps out and they create a bubble for them to walk in.

Momo jumps into the water, looking to catch some fish, when suddenly something large swims by. When the bubble is burst by the creature, Toph earthbends the floor of the path high enough to get them above the waterline. The creature circles them and shows himself, upon which Sokka shockingly states that he realizes why it is called the Serpent's Pass.

Aang tells Katara to get the others to safety as he distracts the serpent. Katara makes an ice bridge for the others to cross and promptly heads out on top of the water to assist Aang. Sokka encourages Toph to cross the ice. Toph prefers to stay where she can see, but swiftly changes her mind when her miniature island is destroyed. Just as she reaches the halfway point, the serpent smashes the bridge, sending her into the water. Toph, who can not swim, calls for help.

Sokka and Suki attempt to go in and save her, until someone flies down and splashes into the water. Sokka and Suki look on in shock until the figure rose up, holding Toph in his arms. Sokka and Suki, however, recognized him.

Sokka: Him again?!

Suki: Prince Daikon...

Toph: *relieved* Thanks, Sokka. You saved me. *kisses Daikon in the cheek* Wait...

Daikon: ...

Toph: Oh... you again... *chuckles, embarrassed* you can go ahead and let me drown now.

Daikon gave a chuckle as he puts Toph in his back and swam towards the others. They arrived as Daikon sets Toph down as he gets up.

Sokka: How are you here?

Daikon says nothing as he turns to see Aang and Katara fighting the Serpent. Soon, he looks down and kicks some rocks before pulling out a flat rock. He then throws it to the ocean and jumps, shocking everyone as he lands on it and surfs on the rock, heading towards the Serpent.

Sokka: Okay... that was cool.

Daikon pulls out his scythe as his fire flows around his body as he approaches the serpent as it was caught in the whirlpool.

Aang and Katara saw him coming and were shocked.

Aang: Daikon?!

Katara: What is he doing?!

Daikon soon jumps as he reaches the Serpent and hits a Devastating strike which his Ashwarden.

The serpent was knocked out as he spun and hits a mountain before swimming away. The others looked on as Aang and Katara arrived safely as they cheered. However, they turn and realized Daikon vanished from thin air is was gone.

Aang: Where did he...

Katara: He couldn't have drowned right?

Sokka: He must've disappeared. Like he did when we met him.

Suki: Wait, you guys know him too?

Sokka: And how did you know him?

Suki: He traveled to our Island gave us resources, materials, and money to compensate for what Zuko did before.

Toph: Wait, when did that happen?

Suki: Not to long ago.

Aang: We met him before you. He appeared when we fought Azula.

Toph: And he was here with us as we pass through here.

Than: Wait... you mean the Firebender in Purple Clothing? We saw him last night.

Ying: Yes. He was standing far, watching us.

Sokka: Seriously! That guy has to stop creeping at us!

Everyone looked at him as Sokka looks confused. But then realized they're not looking at him, they're looking behind him.

Sokka: *deadpan* He's right behind me, isn't he?

They nodded as Sokka turns and sees Daikon sitting on a rock.

Aang: Daikon! How did you get here?!

Daikon said nothing as he stood up and places his scythe on his back. He then looks at them.

Sokka: Seriously. You have to watch how you stare at people. No wonder people think you can stare into their soul.

Daikon didn't speak as he looks at everyone. He then sees the refugees who stepped back in fear, knowing he's from the Fire Nation. The others got into position for a fight but Daikon simply turns and starts walking off.

Everyone was thrown off as they couldn't believe the Fire Prince who just took down a Giant Serpent with one strike simply walks off. He then stops walking as he stood still.

Suki: What is he doing?

Toph: I think he wants us to follow him.

Sokka: I don't know. What if he's luring us into a trap?

Aang: He wouldn't have struck the ship if it is a trap?

Katara: Wait, the cut on the ship was because of him?

Aang: Most likely. Come on.

Aang runs after him as everyone follows suit.

*later*

Soon, Daikon and the Gaang and the refugees arrived at an area where they can see the walls of Ba Sing Se.

Sokka: There's the wall! Now it's nothing but smooth sailing to Ba Sing Se.

Aang: Thanks for helping us, Daikon.

Sokka: Y-yeah. Thanks, creepy little brother of Zuko.

Daikon looks at Sokka.

Sokka: Dude... you're staring into my-

Suddenly, they hear someone groaning in pain as they turn to see Ying holding her stomach.

Ying: oh no!

Sokka: What's wrong?

Ying: The baby's coming!

Than and the other refugee held Ying sit down.

Sokka: What? Now? Can't you hold it in or something?

Daikon then smacks him across the head.

Daikon: Idiot. Women can't hold a baby inside them for too long.

Sokka: *hurt and muttering* Now he talks.

Daikon: *looks at the refugees* We will have the birth here. Ba Sing Se can wait.

Than nodded thankfully. Katara nods as she approaches the refugees.

Katara: Thank you. Aang, get some rags. Sokka, water. Toph, I need you to make an earth tent, a big one. Suki, come with me.

Toph earthbends a tent as everyone goes to do their tasks for the delivery. Daikon looks on as he stood there in a standing pose, making sure their surroundings are safe.

*later*

We hear Ying breathing heavily as Than and the refugee held her arms.

Katara: You're doing great, Ying. Sokka, where's that water?

Sokka arrives as Katara helps Ying.

Katara: Now get ready to push. One ... two ... three! Push!

Ying groans as Sokka soon passes out but Daikon arrives catches the water using his waterbending, making sure no one saw him as he helps Katara.

*later*

Toph, Sokka, Aang, and Daikon stood outside the tent as Daikon looks ahead.

Katara: *from inside* It's a girl!

Toph: So, you want to go see the baby, or are you going to faint like an old lady again?

Sokka: No, no, I'm good this time.

Toph and Sokka enters as Aang and Daikon stood outside. Daikon gave a glance at Aang before looking away as Katara comes out.

Katara: Aang, you have to come see this. *turns to Daikon* Would you like to come inside, Daikon?

Daikon said nothing as Katara nods as she goes back. Aang follows her as Daikon stood outside. After a while, he sets his blade down and walks to the tent, hearing everyone gushing over the baby.

He enters as he sees the little infant sleeping peacefully in her mother's arms. Everyone turns to him as they see his unnatural gaze no longer there, replace with soft, comforting stare as he looks at the baby.

Than: Your highness-

Daikon: Daikon... no need for honorifics.

Everyone was stunned by him not wanting to he spoken to by his title. Daikon nods as he approaches Ying and looks down at the baby.

Ying: We named her... Hope.

Daikon: ... *smiles*

Soon, Daikon did something unexpectedly. He grabs his hoodie and rips it off. He then cuts it a bit with a small knife and gives it to Than.

Daikon: ... Now Hope shall feel strong with this on. Take it. Make it however you wish. This is my blessing.

Than looks at him ,stunned as everyone was shocked to see Daikon giving something of his away to a stranger. Suki knew Daikon is a giving person, but she didn't expect him doing something like this. Soon, Than sees his eyes and nods before grabbing it.

Ying: Thank you... Daikon.

Daikon nods as he stands up and walks out of the tent, letting everyone there to talk about baby Hope, who know has a gift from the Silent Fire Prince himself.

*later*

Daikon stood far as he watches the others giving their goodbyes to Aang. Soon, he approaches Daikon.

Aang: Thanks for helping us, Daikon. I have to go now. Appa-

Daikon I heard about your bison being taken from you. Hope you can find him, Aang. I know the feeling of you seeing someone taken away from you. *looks down* Me and my siblings know that too well.

Aang: You lost someone?

Daikon: Someone special. *sighs as he stands up* Hope you can find... Appa. I have to go now. *puts on his mask* Take care.

Aang smiles as he brings his arm up. Daikon looks at it before shaking his hand.

Daikon soon turns and walks away, disappearing into a cloud of smoke.

*later*

Daikon returns to his ship as he goes to make an order until a guard approaches him.

Guard: Your highness, we have received news.

Daikon: What?

Guard: Princess Azula has arrived at the walls of Ba Sing Se.

Daikon: *eyes widen a bit* How did she get there so fast?

Guard: We don't know. And she brought something to use to pass through the walls.

Daikon: ... the drill.

How's the chapter?

What did you think of Daikon?

Should Daikon go and stop the drill from penetrating through the Walls of Ba Sing Se?
