Why Voting is Important to Me

Voting is important to me because there was a time when I wasn't allowed to vote. Not because I wasn't 18 , but because I was both a woman and black. I feel that it is not only a duty as a citizen of the nation, but as the descent of the many black men and women who fought tirelessly and died for me to have the rights that I have now, To speak of against the all the wrongs and horrids of this place, and try my hardest to make things right not only for me but for the generations that will come after.
