Magnus and Alec were greeted with the sweet aroma of a nice home cooked meal. The smell was mouth watering.

"At least we now know that Izzy didn't cook. We just might survive this dinner." Alec joked with a smile.

"I heard that." came Isabelle's voice. They turned around to find Isabelle standing there with her hands on her hips. She was dressed in a knee length red dress with black heels. A nice and simple necklace completed the outfit.

"Hey Iz." Alec said, as he and Magnus walked towards the dining room. The table was set and Jace, Simon, and Clary were already seated. Clary had on a green dress while Jace and Simon were both in black tuxedos.

"Hello everyone." Magnus greeted as he and Alec took their seats. A light conversation soon started between everyone. Maryse and Robert soon joined everyone, Maryse in a full length black dress and Robert in his tuxedo.

"Hello everyone. I would like to thank all of you for coming to our family dinner. This family has been through a lot and my husband and I are glad that we are still a family..." Maryse continued, but her speech fell into a sort of background noise as Magnus focused his eyes on Robert.

He felt as if something was off with Robert. He just looked tense, more so than usual. He also looked uncomfortable. Magnus heard the scrape of a chair and saw that Maryse was done with her speech. A nice light conversation started up again, and every once in a while Magnus would look at Robert. The whole dinner was light. Magnus had expected the worse, but the dinner was actually enjoyable.

As they were all clearing their plates Alec decided to give Magnus a tour.

"Alexander, I have been alive for hundreds of years, I know everything there is to know about this place." Magnus said.

"I know Mags, I just want to show you something. Please." Alec begged. Magnus smiled and allowed Alec to drag him off deeper into the Institute. When they finally stopped they were in an abandon part of the institute.

"Since not many shadowhunters needed to stay here anymore, besides us, all the other rooms and hallways were forgotten. I use to wander around these hallways when I was younger. At first it was all just for fun, but soon I found a room that became a place where I could go when all of it just became too much. It all started when I realized that I had feelings for Jace."

Magnus smiled, "Thank you for showing me this Alexander." Magnus pulled Alec into a fierce hug and Alec responded immediately, wrapping his arms around Magnus' waist.

They stayed like that for a while, until Magus pulled away and was holding Alec at arms length.

"Will you move in with me? You are basically living with me already and on those days when you aren't at my apartment I really do miss you. The Chairman does too." Magnus pushed the words out quickly, worried about Alec's answer. Just because they were basically living together doesn't mean his blue eyed shadowhunter wanted to live with him.

Alec looked into Magnus' beautiful golden, green cat eyes. All he saw was love and just a hint of fear. He soon realized he hadn't answered Magnus' question.

"Of course I'll move in with you Mags. I thought you'd never ask. And I miss you guys too, when I'm not at the apartment I mean."Alec then threw himself at Magnus.

"Lets go pack my bags so we can go home. I'm a little tired." Alec said. Hearing him call his, now their, apartment home almost brought tears to Magnus' eyes.

"Lets." and with that, they walked towards Alec's room, hand in hand.

When they had finally packed up all of Alec's things, Magnus poofed them home with a wave of his hand.

"Can I say bye to Izzy and Jace first, I know that before today I was at your apartment most of the time, but.."

Magnus chuckled, "Its fine Alec. Of course you can go say goodbye." When they walked towards the kitchen, where they last saw everyone, they were all sitting around the kitchen. Everyone was in their own conversation.

Alec took a deep breath, "Hey guys, I have an announcement to make." They all looked towards him, waiting. Alec blushed from all the attention.

"Magnus asked me to move in with him and I said yes." Before he could hear any of the congratulations he was expecting, his father jumped out of his chair.

"What!" Robert screamed. Maryse stood up and put her hand on Robert's arm.

"Calm down Robert."

"Calm down! How can I calm down?! My son is moving in with this downworlder! This demon spawn! Now I was going to try and tolerate this so called relationship of yours, until Alexander came to his senses, but this is taking it too far! Your little experiment with your sexuality is over! Do you hear me Alexander?! Over!" Robert screamed.

Alec couldn't believe his ears. He knew his father had not approved, but he thought this dinner meant he was at least trying. He was shocked into silence. He didn't know what say or do. Seeing this, and sensing the tears that would soon come out of Alec's eyes, Magnus stepped in front of him.

"No disrespect, wait scratch that, I hope you take this as disrespectful. I have no respect for you at all, just so you know. Now, Alexander is big boy and he can do what he wants with his life. And he can definitely love who he wants to love. And lucky me, he loves me and wants to spend his life with me. So just leave him alone." Magnus said. You could almost see the steam coming out of Roberts ears.

"How dare you talk about Alec, our son, like you know anything about him! You say you love Alec but you have ruined his life! The Clave will never accept him and he will never have children of his own! You have turned my son against everything he holds dear! You will stay away from my son, and if I see or hear about you trying to contact him I will personally drive a seraph blade through your heart!"

Then Isabelle, Jace, Clary, and Simon all stepped in front of Magnus.

"You'll have to get past us first, dad." Isabelle said. You could hear the disgust in her voice.

"You will all move now." Robert said coolly. Thats when, surprising everyone, Alec stepped out from his boyfriend, friends, and siblings.

"Dad, please, just let me be happy." Alec said, his voice pleading.

"How can you be happy with that, that thing?! That faggot! Its either us or him Alexander. And if you choose the thing, then don't ever come back to this Institute ever again. I will disown you. You will not tarnish the family name because of your disgusting life choice." Robert spat out the words.

Alec became filled with rage, he went to attack his father.

"Bastard!" he screamed. But before he could reach him Robert smacked him, hard, across the face. Alec stumbled and hit the floor.

"Now you've really done it. Insult me all you want, but you will NOT lay your hands on him!" And with that, Magnus blasted him with a huge ball of blue fire. Robert flew across the room into the sink.

"Robert!" Maryse screeched. She ran for him, while everyone else was checking on Alec.

"You okay?" Jace asked, helping him off the floor. Alec didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say. When he felt tears in his eyes he turned towards Magnus.

"Lets go." And he walked towards the door, not looking at anyone as he did so.

When they were finally back at their apartment, Magnus walked Alec to the bedroom. As soon as they laid down Alec finally allowed his tears to fall. Magnus pulled Alec towards him and kissed his head.

"It's okay baby. It will all be okay. We'll get through this. We always do." and Magnus kept going. Saying soothing things into Alec ears to calm him. After several minutes of crying Alec looked up at Magnus.

"I love you and I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world." Alec said. Magnus smiled.

"And I love you. You are everything to me my darling Alexander." Magnus snapped his fingers and they were both in their boxers.

"Now let's get some sleep." Magnus said, and they both curled up under the yellow comforter.l
