Song for the Day: Lust for Life by Girls

Okay so this is legitimately just a picture of the endgame for Deja Vu, as in the scene the last chapter closes out on, so don't look if you haven't read. GO READ IT. JEEBUS

Something about going back to school always reminds me of my kids. The book is practically set in my school so rereading Deja Vu, which I tend to do when anyone else reads it (if you comment, I will read through as you do, fondly reminiscing and cringing at my old prose), makes me nostalgic for a period of my life I'm currently living through. Someday in the future it will probably make me cry, not because the pain is familiar, but because I'd forgotten it. Until then, the book is a mess of metaphors and half-fresh pain, and yet somehow even as I find a perpetual stream of problems with the execution I love the book more and more. Deja Vu deserved better than being a guinea pig for my outings with humans. Someday, someday soon, I'm going to come back and make it up.
