[TCHF] [Spoiler-Free] Gale Is There Also

Song for the Day: Yeah Yeah Yeah by Jack Conte

The aforementioned song is my Gale National Anthem and has been with my favorite long-eared edgelord (Derrick is my second favorite) since the ninth grade. I figured while we're starting off with Rena, Gale would be a natural choice for the second chapter before I get into some older art.

Since I'm going to try to give brief overviews for all my books on here, The Cities Have Fallen is the story of Rena, an amnesiac without control of her powers, and Gale, a street-smart pessimist who craves the interpersonal interaction his rough life has denied him. The two of them navigate the dystopian landscape of Dreamland, a high fantasy world inhabited by animal-like aliens (Sentients) whose society is entirely centric around magic. The ruler who has held their world in order for thousands of years of peace has vanished. A plague has broken loose that uses the magic of these Sentients against them.

The Cities Have Fallen (the current draft is the "Retold" version, the older version is from eighth grade) is actually a sequel to The Space Between Stars. I'd recommend reading that first, as it gives a lot of background to the events of The Cities Have Fallen, but you can probably fill in the line. Some scenes are far more affecting when you've read the former, though.
