Song for the day: Jackrabbit by San Fermin

For the longest time I've had a thousand characters who are self-inserty in nature but are not even remotely close to sonahood. This is primarily because when I write self-inserts, I write about the parts of myself I hate the most of am the most insecure about, or I just create characters who I can smash into the ground as hard as I can. Aster is the closest thing I have to an *actual sona* and she's the first truly positive character I've made in that vein. Needless to say I love her dearly.

In reference to design details, her most important feature is actually hidden here-- she has a system of gashes on her back that together make up a system of glow-y canals that shine when she's happy or otherwise intrigued. The maps correspond to groupings of my characters (dots encricled by circles representing whole groups), with lines connecting characters of similar origins or elemental prowess (I will EVENTUALLY explain the Virtue system in this book but all you need to know for now is that powers are thematic and those thematics are semi-consistent between books). Different thoughts or people make her glow certain ways.

Explanation on the left: she can manifest energy, that's how she defends herself. She borrows fighting techniques from around my books, with the left being reminiscent of Gale's claws.

As for other design details, the jackrabbit thing is primarily because of the ears (I love me some Big Ears) and jackalopes, which have horns, since horns are really important in CVE lore. Aster sometimes has little bottles of stardust or incense hanging from hers. She wears the most stereotypical Chronaverse coat because fluffy clothing is a weakness of mine. Naturally she's barefoot because my habit with shoes is just... not to wear them. Whenever possible, that is. Also freckles.
