Chapter 12

*Robin Douglas's POV:

Just when I thought Danny was just some crazy psychotic hobo, it turns out, he was just like us. He was an experi-baby whom was given psychic powers.

He could know all about a person without even knowing them personally.

He could tell what your name was without you saying it, and could even tell the future.

I was never the type to believe in something without proof of it's existence, especially when it came to conspiracy theories. I've always pictured conspiracy theorists as a bunch of older people still living with their parents, no job, no house, no purpose, but so quick to point out and overthink shit without solid proof.

But in only a matter of thirty minutes, my mindset was changed.

The things Danny told us was too frightening and too deep. It was too deep to be a lie and it all made sense, along with the amount of detail.

But what made me really believe him was the fact that he admitted to being an experi-baby. A psychic one. He even gave us specific evidence that he was, for example: knowing our names without us telling him, and knowing the term "experi-baby" without us tell him about it.

I know it sounds like petty reasons to believe him, but after a while, my gut finally told me that he was telling the truth.

When he said that the extermination of experi-babies will happen very soon, we knew we had to sprint home and tell our families and friends.

If you really want me to be honest, that was the first time I had ever been afraid for my life, well, the second really, if we are also including what happened at the sleepover. But at that time I didn't show it, I had to put on my "Robin Face" and act brave.

When we got to my house, Shimizu tried to tell everyone what happened, but our family members were so confused but also pissed off at the fact that we were blocking the television while they were watching the NBA game. Either way, he was talking too fast for anyone to understand him.

His parents had to sit him down, not only because he was blocking the television, but also because he was panicking.

Before he could explain the second time, the game was interrupted by an Emergency Broadcast System which showed U.S. President Jones sitting at a desk.

Me and others immediately, looked away from Shimizu and looked at the television.

We were silent as a mouse, preparing to listen to the U.S. president make his announcement.

"My fellow Americans, we have a problem. You may know about those who are experimented. They are well known to cause disarray, murder, thief and trouble across the globe. Some are your friends, some are your children, some are your cousins, some are even your coworkers. Because of how much destruction and chaos they cause, I am here to tell you that the U.S. government along with many nations across the globe has declared that these "Super Humans" are a danger to us and to the rest of the world. We have later found out that these "Super Humans" are secretly planing to wipe out and exterminate the people of the world who weren't experimented on. They see "Regular Humans" as inferior, bland and useless."

He then paused for a moment as he cleared his throat.

"With a lot of research, Scientist later found out that the chemicals that were injected into infants and young children did not only give them powers, but it also wired their brains into thinking that they were better than regular humans and that regular humans were in need of extermination. The number of experimented people has went up tremendously, there are an estimated to be about one billion worldwide. Two hundred million more since 2010. Most have minor to moderate level of powers, while none that we know of have powers that are world ending."

He paused for a moment again.

"My fellow Americans, the U.S. government along with the rest of the United Nations have decided that the only way to stop those experimented people is to exterminate them. Exterminate all of the experimented men, women and children in order to save real humanity from their plans. It's for the great of good, we have no choice. God bless America."

Immediately after the President's speech, the NBA game went back on and the Lakers were winning, but right now, nobody was worried about that.

"W-what?" Isabella whimpered.

"What?! How?! Why is this happening?!" My mom cried out as she grabbed on to my dad. He looked just as worried as she did.

Mr. Hernandez explained everything to Mrs. Hernandez in Spanish, and her reaction was just as upsetting as Isabella's.

Our parents, slightly panicked started to have a conversation among themselves, trying to make sense of everything. Fortunately, they weren't as panicked as Shimizu, Beval, Gaia or even her older brother Thomas.

Thomas was pacing back and forth while gripping on to his dreadlocks, something that Gaia always did when she is nervous or panicky.

Shimizu was on the couch rocking back and forth, shedding tears and looked as if he now had PTSD.

Hikari was confused and scared and held on to her mom and dad.

Gaia and Beval were just sitting there, staring at the television, wondering what the hell just happened.

I saw a tear drop from Gaia's eyes and she was trembling slightly.

"Oh my god...what? What did I just hear?!" Beval said in fear.

That's when I decided it was time we discuss this privately. We needed a quiet place to chat.

"Shimizu! Gaia! Beval! Upstairs in my room! Now!" I demanded as I pointed upstairs before making my way.

Gaia, Beval and Shimizu looked at each other then got off the couch. They silently and slowly followed me upstairs into my room.

My room was medium-sized room with white walls and soccer wall-sticker decorations.

"Shut the door behind you" I said to Beval.

After shutting the door, I began explaining.

"The homeless guy we met months ago, he's not really homeless but he is an experi-baby and his name is Danny. He has psychic powers and told us the government really was planning an extermination of experi-babies! And it will happen soon! He told us this while we were at the park!", I summarized, trying to maintain my composure.

Shimizu, Beval and Gaia stared blankly at me, still having that broadcast on their minds.

"I, I just don't know what to think about all of this. One minute we are having a party and the next thing I know, you two barge in the house panicking. And the president on TV is calling us "Super Humans" and saying that we are going to be "exterminated". Everything doesn't make sense right now!" Beval explained, with a scattered mind.

Shimizu took a deep breath and began speaking.

"Guys, listen, I know you are all worried, I am too, and I am trying my best not to panic. But if we want to survive this, we need to come up with a plan and stay below the radar, which means getting rid of any electronics we have. Matter of fact, turn off the locations on your phones and shut them down. Later, we will have to dispose of them."

"Are you kidding me?!" Beval groaned, not knowing how to react or what to say or do. He was clearly overwhelmed.

"Okay, let's start from the top. You do remember that drunk guy who told us that we will be placed into camps and exterminated?" Shimizu asked.

Beval and Gaia both nodded their heads.

"He was right. President Jones literally just announced it." Shimizu finished.

"What else did that homeless guy tell you?" Gaia quietly asked as she stared at the ground, rubbing her arm.

"Huh?" me and Shimizu both asked, not hearing her the first time.

"What else did that homeless guy tell you?" she asked even louder, looking up at us.

"He isn't homeless, and he told me and Shimizu that W.E.A., along with the United Nations, especially the United States are planning to lower the world's population. How they will do this will be through the extermination, since a billion people are experi-babies. That will decrease the population drastically. When that seven billion turns into six billion, it will be easier to control and a "New World Order" will be established. It will be easier because the people will now trust their government," I explained.

Gaia and Beval just looked at each other.

Shimizu sighed.

"The extermination of experi-babies will be for five years, taking and hunting down every experi-baby on the face of this earth, even killing regular people who publicly protest against the extermination. Afterwards, there will be world peace and a new-"

"How on earth do you go from basically a mass genocide to world peace?!" Beval interrupted Shimizu with his big mouth.

"Shhh, listen!" I shushed as I elbowed him.

"Listen, during world peace, a New World Order will come about during that time. There will be a one world leader and a one world government. The world will finally be at peace. During the New World Order, a leader will rise to power. Everyone will love him and adore him, but anybody who publicly goes up against him will be put in jail. The World Peace and New World Order occur at the same time and will only last for three years. Then, for four years, we will have World War 3. World War 3 will be so terrible and deadly that it either will: make the human race go extinct, or humanity will be in such bad shape that we will go back to the stone age" Shimizu continued.

"So, we are going to die?!" Gaia asked, afraid of the answer.

Being the sister she never had, I comforted her.

"No, no Gaia. We will be alright. Really" I said, not really sure if we will.

"Does everyone know about this?" Beval asked Shimizu.

"No, I mean, I don't think so. It seems like we are the only ones who know about their plans, including Danny" he answered.

Beval hurried to the house phone that was on his dresser and tried call someone,

"What are you doing?" Robin asked as we all looked at him.

"I'm calling Mina" he responded, anxiously waiting for her to pick up the phone.

Once she picked up, he started explaining everything to her. He was sweating like crazy and breathing heavily.

Shimizu just sat on my bed and tried to calm himself down and think of a plan.

"Gaia, it's going to be okay, we are going to be okay, we'll just have to go into hiding for a while, that's all. Hiding from the government, hiding our powers...wait a minute...I got an idea!" I yelled out. "Guys, I think it will be a good idea to wear contacts for the next few years or more, especially while we are in school. That way, nobody who know if we were experimented on or not!"

"It wouldn't make a difference Robin, even if we did wear contacts, so many people have seen our eye colors, they could just turn us in and we'd be taken to those camps to be killed! Plus, Danny said those F.E.M.A officers now have on special sunglasses where they can see if someone is an experi-baby or not" Shimizu explained as he hopped off my bed and walked over to me.

I knew he was right, teachers could call the cops on us and we'll be taken to the F.E.M.A extermination camp to be disposed off. We only have four months left of school, but four months is a long time, especially to make sure you don't get caught.

"And you are absolutely right Shimizu, but what can we do? Where can we hide? We can't hide in Gaia's attic forever" I explained.

"We're going to have to hide underground, that's our only option" Shimizu stated.

"But where?" I asked him.

"Okay, thank you, thank you so much. Do you want me to put on speaker? Okay then," Beval asked, talking on the phone with Mina before putting her on speaker.

All three of us looked at Beval.

Mina begin to speak.

"I'm honestly scared for you guys, I can't imagine the fear you all are going through right now. I don't really know what to say."

"Thank you so much for your concern, we truly appreciate it Mina" I replied.

"Have you guys found a place to hide yet, from the officers?" Mina asked.

"No, we are still thinking. Hmm, since we're gonna need a place to hide for the next five years, what about that old-abandoned underground subway near the end of town? It's hidden from the public and since it is deep underground, nobody will think to search under there for us."

"Uh, Robin, that's all peaches and cream and everything but I think you are forgetting the fact that we are going to need food, water, clothing and medicine which is something you can't find in an underground subway. But unless you want to eat rats and drink dripping dirty water for the next few years, then be my guest. But we need to go somewhere where we can grow our food, somewhere with lots of water and someplace that isn't populated. How about a deserted island?" Beval asked.

"I don't know Beval, do you know where a deserted island is located?! Do you have a boat that can take us there?! Because none of us have one!" I yelled at him with sarcasm.

He rolled his eyes at me in response.

"Well, what else are we going to do Robin? It's either move to a deserted island or hide underground!" Gaia said with frustration.

"The guy Danny said that moving to another country is no use. It wouldn't matter because either way, in about twelve or so years, the human race might be extinct. So, we need to learn how to survive the five years of extermination somehow, someway" Shimizu explained to us.

"Guys, if you don't know what to do, or where to go, I have a secret hideout where you guys can hide for a few years. It has a bathroom, a television, a bed, food, medicine, and water" Mina spoke up.

All four of us for silent for a minute, trying to process what that girl just said.

"Uhh...hello?" Mina asked.

"Wait, really?! But what if we get caught? And what if you get in trouble for helping us?" Beval asked in happiness, but also with a hint of concern.

"I won't. For one, the place is hidden underground. Secondly, only me and my father can access it and can find it. You will be safe there. I can't guarantee you will be there for up to five years but I can guarantee will be long enough"Mina explained.

Gaia started crying of joy.

"Thank you Mina, thank you so much" Gaia cried out.

"No problem, I care about you guys and I don't want you all to be killed. This is a sick world we are living in and I feel like you have a chance to survive here. Oh, I gotta go, but I want you all at my house at around seven in the morning tomorrow."

"Okay, thanks Mina, bye" Beval smiled as his voice trembled.

"No problem, anything for you guys. Bye"

"Bye" Beval responded before hanging up the phone.

Gaia ran to hug me and Beval, Shimizu joined into our group hug as well.

Everyone was cheering except me.

"We're gonna live! We're gonna live!" Gaia cried out.

"Okay, okay stop the cheering please" I groaned as I rolled my eyes. I forced myself out of the group hug.

"Don't get your hopes high yet, we still need to come up with a way to survive this war in several years. Plus, she even said that she couldn't guarantee five years" I stated with crossed arms.

"It's better than not hiding there at all" Beval clapped back.

"Well maybe during the New World Order, which is where Danny said world peace occurs, we can come out from hiding for a while and get everything we need to prepare for World War 3. During World War 3, that's when we hide underground, maybe at the old abandoned underground subway" Shimizu explained as he caressed his chin.

"Guys, I think it's time that we tell our parents about tomorrow and our plan" Gaia spoke up.

"Agreed" Shimizu replied.

We walked out of my room and headed back downstairs.

It was just like how we left it.

Conversations were still going on, but everyone was calm and collected. When they saw us coming down the stairs, they stopped talking.

I cleared my throat.

"Attention everyone! We need to discuss some things!"

I paused for a second, then continued.

"Listen, I know you all are scared for us, and to be honest with you, we are scared for ourselves as well."

I paused for a moment.

I knew I had to explained to them about everything Danny told us so that they will understand. So I took a deep breath and explained everything from beginning to end.

Let's just say they started panicking, but I nipped that shit in the bud and quickly announced our plan so they could maintain their composure again.

"We are going to be hiding in our friend's underground shelter for probably the next five years. Her name is Mina Talikki and she lives on 900 Sunnyside Blvd! She offered to help us and we took the offer. Our original plan was to either hide in that abandoned underground shelter near the end of town or life on a deserted island. For the time being, both will not work. But thanks to our friend Mina, sheade up her mind to let us hide in her hideout that's probably underneath her house!" I loudly announced.

"But what about school?" my mom asked.

"What about it?! If we go to school, there will be a great chance that we will get caught and put into those extermination camps. We can't go to school. We will put ourselves in a lot of danger if we do. The proof of us being experimented on is our eye colors, you can just look at us and tell we are experi-babies. Even if we wear contacts while in school, most of the people at school have already seen our eye colors. If for any reason, we need to leave our hideout, whether it's to get more food, water, or whatever, we will have on contacts so that the people around us can't tell if we were experimented on or not. But we will have to watch out for the F.E.M.A officers and maybe even the police officers. They now have special sunglasses where you can tell if someone has been experimented on or not. We might even have to change up our look so that nobody will recognize us" I explained.

"Wait, we can come and visit you right? To make sure everything is all good?" Thomas asked.

"Of course" Gaia answered him.

"I don't know about this, can you even trust her?" Mr. Hernandez asked.

We were silent for moments until Beval spoke up.

"Of course we can, she will never betray us."

Our family members had looks on their faces that showed they were unsure and not trusting of Mina.

"We will be alright, it's only for a few years. But please, do not tell anyone about this! You can't trust a lot of people right now" Beval told them.

"Like...Mina?" Isabella asked sarcastically as she crossed her arms.

"Bella you don't know anything so I don't even know why you would even say that! We can trust her, she is not like that! She won't turn us in!" Beval snapped back at his older sister.

"How do you even know? You've only known her for a few months, not years. You're still in the process of getting to know her, she is still considered a stranger. Sure, you may have liked her since forever, but still, I don't trust this girl. I don't know her to trust her. What if she sets you up? I disagree with you guys going over there. I totally do!"

"What else are we supposed to do Isabella?! Hide in Gaia's attic? Stay on a deserted island and possibly get eaten by animals? Hide in some stink underground abandoned subway with rats, bugs, mice and dirty water?!" Beval argued.

He and Isabella started going back and forth, and next thing I knew, I was the only person who wasn't arguing with someone.

I was honestly getting stressed out by this whole thing.

"Enough!" I shouted. Everyone stopped arguing and looked at me.

"I am tired of a the bickering, arguing and panicking. Unless anyone has a better idea, we are heading to Mina's house first thing tomorrow morning at seven. I know it's not the smartest decision but at the same time, it's better than doing nothing at all! We will have a chance of survival if we do this! We'll just have to take that chance and take shelter at Mina's underground hideout maybe for the next five years. The hideout has food, a bed, water, a bathroom, a television and medicine. When we are gone, I need you to go about your days as if nothing has happened, that way people won't get suspicious. If anyone asks, just say they took us away to the camps and that we are probably dead. Look sad when you say it." I looked at Isabella. "Listen Isabella, I know right know you are in big-sister-mode, but you have to trust this, trust us and trust Mina."

Isabella looked as if she was about to say something, but then decided to stay silent, so I continued.

"Therefore, if anyone has a better plan, please share it now!"

Everyone was silent and looking at each other. Obviously, they had no ideas at all.

"I thought so!" I finished, proving my point.

"I'll take you there" Mrs. Mizuki volunteered as she held back tears.

"What?!" Isabella yelled.

"You heard me Isabella! I am taking them there! We have no choice or any ideas to help them survive this. All we can do is trust and pray that nothing bad will happen to them."

Isabella scoffed and walked away.

Mrs. Mizuki sighed and walked up to Shimizu.

She took her necklace from around her neck and placed it around Shimizu's. The necklace said "Luck" in Japanese.

"This is for good luck" she told Shimizu before kissing his forehead.

After all of this chaos occurred, Gaia, Beval and Shimizu went home with their families and started packing their things, like: clothes, toothbrushes, contact lenses, etc.

I was doing the same also. I packed almost one-third of all of my clothes and other items into my suitcase.

Because we had to get up so early, we had to go to bed earlier at around 8 pm, earlier than we usually did for school.

But I couldn't sleep, I was too worried, too fearful, and too overwhelmed to sleep, but somehow, someway, my eyelids shut for the next few hours.
