6. secrets
The day after Hawk climbed into Andrew's window, he acted as if nothing had happened.
Andrew couldn't stop thinking about it all morning. He was barely able to help his dad find a house for them to live in once he moved to LA and when Steven dropped him off at Cobra Kai for practice, Andrew had to force himself to act like nothing happened last night.
Because technically, nothing did.
Sensei Lawrence and Sensei Kreese had all the students circled up and one by one, pairs would get called up to spar.
After fighting and winning against Mitch, who everyone weirdly called Assface, Andrew took a seat with his back to the entrance of the dojo.
As the two senseis looked around the circle for another pair to call up, the bell above the door to the dojo rang throughout the room.
Before Andrew could look back and see who had walked in, an angry pair of footsteps practically stepped over him to stand at the center of the mat.
And Andrews face paled when he saw his Uncle Daniel standing right in front of him.
"The hell do you think you're doing?" Johnny spat at Daniel and from right behind the LaRusso, Andrew stared up at the back of his uncles head, his heart beating in his ears as he waited for the moment Daniel would turn around and see him sitting in his enemy's dojo.
Across the room, Hawk watched the way Andrew was practically paralyzed in fear. All he wanted to do was run across the mat and pull Andrew out of the dojo fast enough for Daniel not to see.
But he couldn't do that. Instead, Hawk forced his eyes away from Andrew to look up at Daniel LaRusso right as he scoffed. "Like you don't know."
Johnny looked the man up and down, finally noticing that Daniel still had his shoes on while standing on the mat.
"Take your shoes off the mat. You're disrespecting my dojo." Johnny spat and Daniel only responded with a low chuckle. His head dipped and Andrew felt his body go cold.
"You're seriously gonna talk to me about disrespecting dojos after what you just did to mine?" Daniel yelled and Andrew's eyebrows furrowed. Across the room, Hawks face fell while Johnnys twisted into some look of confusion.
"I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I didn't do anything to your dojo." Johnny said and Daniel raised his eyebrows sarcastically. "Just like you didn't slug one of my employees, huh?"
Johnny immediately looked away from Daniel, his lips pressing together guiltily. Daniel scoffed in annoyance. "You know, part of me actually felt bad for you at one point, but you make it so easy to remember who the bad guy is in all of this. You call yourself a sensei? You don't even know what a sensei is. A sensei mentors. A sensei elevates. He doesn't teach destruction and disrespect!"
"I already said I don't know what you're talking about, LaRusso. And you don't know what you're talking about either." Johnny snapped back almost immediately, stepping into the circle to stand with Daniel.
Andrew's eyes widened at the two angry men, his hands on the mat to lean back and get as far from the two as he could without moving,
"Yeah, well, I know you don't earn a Medal of Honor by stealing it." Daniel seethed.
Andrew should've stopped himself, but he couldn't.
He didn't have as close bond with Mr. Miyagi that Sam had with him, but Andrew still knew the man—grew up with him. Mr. Miyagi would bring him and Sam the same amount of Christmas presents, he would babysit Andrew whenever Daniel, Amanda, Steven, and Jessica would go on double dates, he would still call Andrew his grandson.
So hearing that someone on his team stole such an important part of Mr. Miyagi's legacy, forced Andrew to speak up.
"Someone stole Mr. Miyagi's Medal?"
And if Andrew could see the look on his uncles face when he heard his voice, Andrew would shriveled into a ball.
Around the circle, Hawk, Aisha, and Miguel's faces all fell when Andrew finally made his presence known. No body was wanting to see this play out.
Daniel blinked when his eyes landed on his nephew, as if he would magically disappear from his spot on Cobra Kai's mats and he would realize he was just imagining Andrew being here.
But Andrew didn't disappear. It wasn't just Daniel's imagination. Andrew was actually sitting in Cobra Kai's dojo. He was wearing Cobra Kai's gi.
"What the hell are you doing here, Andy? I told you to stay away from him and these kids!" Daniel screamed and boy, did Andrew wish he was able to disappear, or teleport, or do just about anything to get away from situations where his uncles yelling at him.
"Hey! Stop talking to my student!" Johnny yelled, taking another step toward Daniel. Andrew was sure his sensei would push Daniel back by his shoulders, but surprisingly, Johnny didn't lay a hand on him.
Daniel rolled his eyes, a dry laugh passing through his lips. "Your student is my nephew!" He screamed and Johnnys face fell. When the blonde turned to look at Andrew, a betrayed look on his face, Andrew gulped.
Daniel ignored the look, turning around to face Andrew. "Go! Get in the car!" He screamed, pointing to the doors of the dojo.
Andrew sat up straighter, a pleading look in his eyes. "But Uncle Danie—"
"Get in the car or I'm buying you the next ticket back home!" Daniel screamed, shaking in anger.
Andrew felt like he was punched in the gut. He didn't realize his eyes were watering until they moved to find Hawks and the boy was blurry in his vision.
Hawks lips parted and his shoulders straightened as if he was about to get up when he noticed the tears in Andrew's eyes. When Andrew looked away, Hawk felt his heart sink.
Andrew finally realized every single pair of eyes were on him. He swallowed the lump in throat and felt all the stares slowly start to burn. Without a word, Andrew pushed himself off the ground and ran out of the dojo.
He didn't get in the car like Daniel told him to. Andre figured he had about five more minutes of his uncle yelling at Johnny before he finally walked out of the dojo, so Andrew headed toward the convenient store right next door.
The man behind the counter immediately nodded his head as a hello to Andrew when he walked in, recognizing him from all the times he and just about every other Cobra Kai kid came in after practice.
Andrew headed toward the candy aisle, grabbing a box of Reese's Pieces as he passed it. When he got to the refrigerated drinks, Andrew grabbed a coke and headed to the cash register.
He watched as the man behind the counter scanned his two items and when he felt someone come up to stand beside him, Andrew didn't turn his head. The body beside him swiped his card, paying for Andrew's things and as he pushed his card back into his wallet, Andrew looked up at his uncle.
Daniel raised his eyebrows and gave Andrew a tired, lopsided smile. "You ready to go?" He asked, his voice quiet. Andrew couldn't tell if his voice was quiet because he was still angry, or guilty for yelling at Andrew in front of the crowded room. Either way, Andrew sighed, grabbing onto his snacks and walking out of the store, Daniel right by his side.
"Are you gonna yell at me the whole way back to the house?" Andrew asked, turning around to face Daniel as he pushed the convenient store door open with his hip. He let the man walk out first before he pushed himself off the door and started to follow him toward the car.
"We're not going to the house. And no. It's just..." Daniel took a deep breath and it all came out as a scoff as he turned back to Andrew. "I told you they were bad news, Andy." Daniel scolded, barely looking over his shoulder to glare at the dojo the two of them were talking away from.
Andrew shrugged carelessly, opening his soda with a loud click. "Yeah, well, they weren't bad to me." He blurted, silencing Daniel. Andrew turned to face Daniel, calmer now that he's taken a sip of his drink. "I was finally starting to hang out with people that weren't Sam and Anthony every summer. I was finally starting to make my own friends!"
Daniel scoffed, throwing his hands out exasperatedly. "And you want these people to be your friends? They're bad news!" Daniel yelled and Andrew stopped walking to roll his eyes.
"And that'll be my lesson to learn!" Andrew groaned, pointing to himself before he raised his eyebrows. "Are you telling me Sam never had any bad friends?" He asked, knowing from Sam herself that she had friends earlier in the school year that got involved in a hit and run.
Daniel sighed, his head dropping. "You're right. I'm sorry." Daniel admitted, his voice coming out as a mutter, almost as if he didn't want to admit ant defeat.
But Andrew took what he could get. He knew his uncle was stubborn and that was probably the most he would get. Andrew sighed, shrugging his shoulders as he raised his hand to rub his eye. "It's whatever." He muttered and when he dropped his hand, Andrew shoved both of his hands into his pockets. "What did they do to the dojo?" Andrew asked, watching Daniel closely.
When Daniel started to smile, Andrew was very thrown. "How about you come over and find out." Daniel offered, pointing to his parked car with his thumb. "I know you've hardly talked to Robby and he's been living with us almost as long as you have. Plus, that friend of yours, Demetri, is there. He's been asking about you nonstop."
Andrew's eyebrows rose so high, they could've touched his hairline. "Demetri joined Miygai-Do?" He asked and Daniel–despite thinking Demetri was a hassle to work with–smiled and nodded matter of factly.
"Mhm. I guess you've got one good friend still." Daniel hummed and slowly, Andrew managed to smile. He was grateful to have Demetri. Since ValleyFest, Demetri had been FaceTiming Andrew a lot more–almost every night to talk about whatever new happened in the comics he was reading.
Daniel watched Andrew. He watched the way his nephews lips quirked up at the mention of having a friend still. He nodded his head, gently reaching out to grab the boys shoulder. "Just come on over and help the three of us clean up the place. It'll give you the chance to see what they did." He paused for a moment, and Andrew thought he was supposed to answer right then, but before he could, Daniel spoke again.
"I won't tell any of them you were here. Your secrets safe with me." Daniel said, his voice was quieter now, and his eyes stayed locked on Andrew's. Andrew visibly relaxed, his shoulders dropping as he stared back up at his uncle. And slowly, Andrew nodded his head.
...
Andrew's jaw slacked as Daniel pulled into Miyagi-Do. Right away, Andrew noticed that the yellow car he had just waxed barely a week ago had been tagged across the side.
"COBRA KAI NEVER DIES"
He got out of the car slowly, his eyes glued onto the car on the opposite end the driveway. Andrew knew that that car was a gift from Mr. Miyagi for Daniel and that not just this car, but all of the vehicles parked in the driveway were special to his uncle.
"I can't believe someone in Cobra Kai did this..." Andrew whispered and Daniel frowned. Slowly, he walked up to Andrew and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Come on to the back." He whispered, turning and leading Andrew toward the backyard of Miyagi-Do.
He didn't know what he was expecting as he walked along the side of the house, but when he saw all the toilet paper dangling from the backyards tree, more graffiti, ripped open punching bags, and destroyed plants, Andrew felt all the air leave his lungs.
"Are you guys lifting? Because I feel like I'm doing nothing here."
Andrew turned his head when he heard Demetri's voice and saw him, Sam, and Robby all working together to try a lift a fallen rock.
"It's a lot easier to knock something down than it is to lift it up." Daniel called out, making his and Andrew presence known to the three. Sam straightened up when she saw Andrew, a smile starting to grow on her face at the idea of Andrew joining her in Miyagi-Do.
"Andy? What are you doing here?" Sam asked, trying her hardest to contain her excitement, but failed completely. By the end of her sentence, her smile had taken over her entire face.
"Your mom told him about the dojo." Daniel quickly butted in before Andrew come up with his own partial lie. Daniel turned his head to Andrew, raising his eyebrows just barely and nodding, silently telling him it's okay.
Andrew smiled, turning back to Sam, Robby, and Demetri. "Figured you guys could use the help. Ten hands are better than eight." He chuckled out breathlessly, raising his hands.
He walked up to the three, sending Demetri, who was completely out of breath and red in the face, a small smile and a pat on the back. "Don't worry. We'll get it up again." Andrew reassured. He and the other three were all about to bend down to attempt to lift the stone again, but a loud voice from the dojo stopped them.
"Uh... Excuse me. Is this Miyagi-Do?"
A chill went down Andrew's spine, recognizing the voice. Slowly, he turned around and gulped when he saw Chris, Nate, and Little Red all standing by the entrance of the backyard.
Daniel didn't notice not just Andrew, but all four teens freeze at the kids who entered the dojo, and just smiled as he walked toward them. "Yeah." He said happily as Robby stomped toward the three, his eyes glued on Chris.
"Come back for another beating?" Robby spat and as he past Andrew, his eyes widened and he quickly grabbed onto Robby's arm to stop him.
"Hey, man..." Andrew whispered, pushing Robby back a couple steps as Daniel looked to Robby with wide eyes.
"Robby!" He scolded, making Robby snap his head back to Daniel.
"This is one of the guys who was beating on Demetri. Probably helped trash the dojo." Robby spat, pointing at Chris.Andrews arms holding Robby back dropped and her face softened. His eyes moved to Chris before he turned back to Demetri, who was looking down with a mix of embarrassment and guilt.
Demetri got beat up? When? Why didn't he know about it?
"What?" Andrew whispered, making Demetri nervous eyes finally look up. He looked like he was about to explain what the hell Robby was talking about, but he was cut off by Chris, who took a small step toward Daniel and the four teens.
"We didn't have anything to do with that." He blurted. Andrew's eyes snapped back to Chris and he watched as his eyes moved to Demetri and he frowned. "But I am sorry about what happened at the mall. We just wanna learn Miyagi-Do karate."
Daniel turned to Andrew, silently asking him if he knew about this and almost immediately, Andrew shook his head. From behind him, Demetri stepped forward until he was side by side with Andrew and Robby.
"I'd be careful about this, Mr. L, letting the Cobra Kais into Miyagi-Do. It's like letting the wildlings behind the Wall." Demetri said and even though Andrew had never seen Game of Thrones, he understood what Demetri could've possibly been trying to say.
"So many other analogies you could've said..." He muttered as Daniel just smirked at Demetri, raising his eyebrows almost daringly.
"Didn't the wildlings help Jon Snow win the Battle of the Bastards?" Daniel asked and Demetri cursed under his breath. His eyes moved to Andrew for a second as he shook his head. "Should've picked a different analogy." He muttered to Andrew and he instantly was met with a head nod.
Daniel ignored Demetri's comment and turned to face the handful of boys that just entered the dojo. He had a huge smile on his face as he walked toward them with an outstretched hand. "We're happy to have you. Nice to meet you."
As Daniel started to introduce himself to the new kids and lead them back to the front, Andrew turned to Demetri. He shoved his hands into his pockets and the corner of his lips tugged downwards as he watched the boy.
"Hey, Demetri... what was Robby talking about back there? They hurt you?" Andrew asked, his voice quiet. Part of him didn't want to believe Demetri dog hurt and he never heard about it.
Demetri sighed, nodding his head begrudgingly. He shoved his hands in his pockets as he looked back up at Andrew, "Cornered me in a 5 versus 1. It was practically gang assault." Demetri spat at the memory.
Andrew's face fell deeper and Demetri felt his stomach churn a little at the sight. Andrew looked like a kicked puppy.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Andrew whispered. Demetri and him called almost everyday—they called the night prior! How did it just not come up?
Demetri sighed, walking toward the small steps to sit down. He flopped down onto the wooden step, ignoring the pain in his tailbone as he started to speak. "I wanted to, but when I told Moon about it, she was so mad..."
He looked back down as Andrew started to walk toward him. When he felt Andrew sit down beside him, Demetri shrugged. "I figured getting Eli broken up with was cruel enough of me. I didn't think I should take away one of his new friends too." He admitted.
Andrew had been nodding along with everything Demetri was saying, but he squinted at those words, his eyebrows furrowing together.
"Eli?" Andrew asked and Demetri rolled his eyes—not at Andrew, but Eli's insufferable persona.
"Hawk." Demetri corrected and Andrew's lips parted in a small shock. Not only did Moon break up with Hawk because he beat up Demetri, but Hawk lied about it. Andrew's eyes moved to the ground, blinking as he tried to understand everything Demetri had just told him.
But as much as Hawk lying about the cause of his and Moons breakup up threw him, that wasn't what was important. WhT was important was the fact that Hawk hurt Demetri—his best friend, entirely.
"Hawk was the one that jumped you?"Andrew asked, turning back to Demetri. He watched as Demetri scoffed and turned back to face him. "Yeah, luckily Sam and Robby came and saved the day. Robby gave him this nasty black eye, so hopefully they'll back off." Demetri said, gesturing to his eye—the same eye Eli had a black eye on when he stopped by Andrew's.
So much for him getting it while training.
Andrew sighed, his head dropping his head into his knees. He ignored the twisting feeling in his stomach and the anger bubbling with it as he shook his head. "I'm sorry that happened, D."
Andrew lifted his head and turned so his cheek was resting on his knee so he could look at Demetri. "Next time, call me, okay? I'm your friend. I've got your back." Andrew muttered, twisting his body so he can gently nudge Demetri.
Demetri smiled. Like really smiled. It was the biggest Andrew had ever seen him smile to date. As his smile started to soften, Demetri pursed his lips and nodded.
"Duly noted."
"Good to see you here." A voice said, standing above Demetri and Robby.
The two boys looked up and Andrew squinted since the sun was in his eyes, but still smiled at Robby standing in front of him.
"Good to be here." Andrew responded before he let out a small chuckle. "Kinda shocked you like being here so much. Figured you'd get sick and tired of dojos since you're staying at one back at the house."
Robby snickered at Andrew's comment, his head dropping. Andrew frowned, tilting his head to the side a bit. "Sorry about that. You would've had my room if I wasn't here." Andrew said and Robby immediately looked back up at Andrew, shaking his head.
"Dude, no. It's all good. Plus, you're moving out in a couple weeks when your dad comes back." Robby said and Andrew smiled to himself at the mention of officially living in Los Angeles again.
"Yeah, you're welcome to take my room after that." He breathed out with his smile still wide on his face.
After a beat, Andrew squinted again. He looked back up at Robby and raised his hand to rub the back of his neck. "Why don't you just stay with me in my room for a bit? Get a feel of the room for when it's all yours." Andrew asked, shrugging his shoulder casually.
Robby's face scrunched and his eyebrows raised. "Like a sleepover?" He asked and frankly, Andrew couldn't tell if Robby was judging him for the offer or if he was genuinely confused.
Damn, he's really got to know this kid better. They've been living together for weeks!
Andrew decided to take Robby's tone as the latter and he nodded. "Yeah, like a sleepover."
He watched Robby closely—watched the way he glared at the ground for a moment and now, Andrew was starting to get nervous that Robby was making fun of him.
But then, Robby looked back up to Andrew, his eyes softer now. "I've never had a sleepover before." He muttered, almost as if he were admitting something.
Andrew had to hold back any visible reaction. He's had hundreds of sleepovers and he's already had two since coming to LA for the summer. Yes they were both Demetri, but Andrew wasn't complaining.
He smiled up at Robby, shrugging as if it were nothing. "Sweet, then I'll be your first."
Robby smiled at that, his shoulders relaxing. He was nervous Andrew would judge him for never having a sleepover before plus, Robby now got a chance to get to know Andrew more. The entire LaRusso family talked so highly of him, he wanted to see what the deal was.
"Andrew!"
Andrew and Robby turned their heads at the sound of Daniel's voice. They watched him at the entrance of the home, Chris by his side and the rest of the newly ex-Cobra Kai kids sitting behind him.
"Come on in here! Chris is gonna help clean up out here!" Daniel said, patting Chris's back and gently pushing him out. Andrew pushed himself off of the steps he was still sitting on. As he wiped his hands, Demetri walked up tm him with wide eyes
"Don't get jumped... You'll be outnumbered." He whispered, bringing his face close to Andrew's ear so only he would hear him. Andrew flinched at Demetri's closeness, not expecting it. But not even seconds later, he relaxed and gave Demetri a tired smile.
"I think I've got it. Thanks though." Andrew reassured and Demetri nodded, leaving back to try and pick up the rock again.
As Andrew started to head inside, he past Chris. "Hey, man." Chris said, raising his hand and pressing it up against Andrew's chest to stop him from walking.
Andrew's steps sputtered. He looked up at Chris and saw his eyes already boring into him. "Mr. LaRusso asked me and the other guys not to bring up you in Cobra Kai." Chris said and Andrew's jaw clenched. He quickly looked away. He didn't even think about these guys ratting him out.
But Chris leaned over so he was in Andrew's line of sight again. "I wanted to tell you that we all get it."
Andrew turned back to Chris, his eyes a little wider than earlier. As soon as their eyes locked again, Chris shrugged. "I mean... we've only been here for a few minutes, and it's hostile. I can't imagine being family and feeling that too. So we've got your back."
Chris clapped his hand onto Andrew's shoulder, finally pulling him back into the conversation. Andrew blinked, nodding his head as a relieved smile started to slowly grow on his face. "Thanks, man."
With that, Andrew walked into the home. He took a seat beside Nate and once his legs were completely crossed, Daniel, who was sitting across from the four boys, finally began the lesson.
"So, what is the purpose of karate?" Daniel asked and Andrew, not really knowing the answer, kept his mouth shut. The only person that answered right away was Nate, who spoke almost robotically,
"Strike first, strike hard, no mercy, sir!"
Andrew shut his eyes and dropped his head as Daniel started to shake his head frantically. "No. You've all been brainwashed by Cobra Kai. I want you to clear your minds and think."
The students all closed their eyes. Andrew didn't know how he was supposed to clear his mind. He couldn't just stop thinking.
But he guessed whatever he was doing looked pretty believable because Daniel smiled and instructed them to open their eyes Ince they were all looking at him, Daniel's shoulders relaxed.
"So... what is the ultimate lesson we learn from karate?"
No one spoke again, maybe it was because they were just like Andrew and also hand no clue how to clear their minds.
From next to Andrew, Nate squinted and tilted his head. "Don't be a pussy?" Nate asked and when Daniel's smile dropped and his jaw clenched, Andrew let out a nervous laugh.
He leaned toward Nate, wrapping his arm around the boy and covering his mouth. He kept his eyes on his uncle as he shook his head—he was still nervous laughing.
"Sorry about him. He never got to speak up much back at Cobra Kai." Andrew chucked out and Nate, whose mouth was still covered, tried to speak, but his words were muffled.
"You calling me a liar?"
"Ding! Ding! Ding!"
Andrew's head snaked to the door leading to the backyard when he heard Demetri and Chris yell. His hand around Nate loosened and the smaller boy smacked Andrew's hands away from him, cursing at Andrew under his breath.
Daniel and Andrew were up on their feet in seconds. They walked outside just as Chris shoved Demetri to the floor.
"Hey!" Robby yelled, making a beeline to Chris and shoving him back as Andrew ran toward Demetri to help him up.
"What are you doing? We're on the same team now!" Daniel yelled as Andrew reached his hand out for Demetri.
Demetri didn't even look up to clasp him hang into Andrew's, letting the boy help him up. As soon as Demetri was up, Andrew eyes were scanning the boy for any scrapes. His eyes met back with Demetri's and his eyebrows raised.
"You okay?" He whispered and Demetri gently nodded.
"Once a Cobra Kai, always a Cobra Kai." Robby spat. Andrew bit his inner cheek at that, his eyes finally pulling away from Demetri's to look at the ground.
Daniel opened and closed his mouth to speak, but his words stopped when he saw Andrew look down and rub the back of his neck. Daniel sighed, turning back to Robby. He didn't want Andrew to feel guilty about getting swayed by Cobra Kai—he didn't want any of them to feel guilty.
So Daniel took a deep breath and shook his head. "Well, that's not true. I know it's not true cause I used to be a Cobra Kai." Daniel admitted, his voice heavy as if he had to force the words out of him.
To say Andrew was shocked is an understatement. He got punished and yelled at for not just being a part of Cobra Kai, but even just being friends with the kids. Meanwhile, Daniel had been in Cobra Hai before? It was hypocritical.
It seemed that every other kid in the backyard had the same reaction because Daniel gestured them all into the dojo, saying he'd explain himself.
"Did you know this?" Andrew whispered to Sam, leaning down to her ear so Daniel wouldn't hear them. Sam scoffed at the question, looking up at Andrew as if he just asked her if the sky was pink. "Do you think I knew this?"
The teens all stepped into the dojo and as Daniel sat down, his raised his hand, silently telling the kids to join him on the floor. They all sat down, legs crossed. Sam and Andrew sat directly in front of Daniel while everyone else sat on either side of them.
"Look, Cobra Kai sells power, strength, and when I joined, I was... Well, I was weak. It was 1985. I had just won my first All Valley, and Mr. Miyagi didn't want me to compete anymore. He never really liked the idea of fighting for trophies in the first place." Daniel explained to the kids sitting in front of him.
"So, he and I, we got into this big argument, and what did I do? I joined Cobra Kai. I learned to strike first, strike hard, show no mercy, and it turned me into an angry and violent kid. It changed me."
Andrew's shoulders slumped and his back straightened. He never knew Daniel and Mr. Miyagi had a falling out—Hell, Andrew didn't know Daniel and Miyagi ever fight period.
Andrew didn't get swayed by Cobra Kai's motto. Maybe he wasn't in it long enough, maybe he had a good sense of self it maybe he was just terrified of Kreese he could hardly listen to him, but Andrew noticed the way his teammates—his friends changing.
"You never told me about any of this." Sam breathed out and Andrew immediately nodding in agreement.
Daniel shrugged, looking between his daughter and nephew. "It's not something I'm proud of. But my point is, anyone can be seduced by Cobra Kai, even me." He looked off to the backyard that was still a trashed, but slowly starting to get better and sighed. "And I'll admit... Cobra Kai makes you feel stronger, tougher, but it will also get you in trouble. And that's what happened to me."
Daniel's eyes moved to his lap, a small smile on his face. "I'm just lucky Mr. Miyagi was willing to take me back." He breathed out
He looked back up to the kids, and made sure he looked every single one of them in the eyes as he spoke. "So, remember, it doesn't matter who anyone was before they stepped into this dojo. All that matters is that right now, today, we are all Miyagi-Do."
Andrew smiled, enjoying the cheesiness of Daniel's words. They reminded him of the speeches his directors would do just before a performance.
His eyes moved down the line of kids sitting with him. He had Demetri and Sam. And he was slowly starting to become closer with Robby. He was so focused on Cobra Kai, he didn't even see that he had people here in Miyagi-Do too.
